Basic Safety Instructions

- The appliance is intended to be used in household only and similar environments like:

— staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments,
– in farm houses,
— by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments,
– on bed and breakfast type environments.

  • Repairs of Cloer electronics appliances should be carried out only by authorized Cloer specialist dealers or by the Cloer customer service. Improper repairs can involve substantial dangers for the user. Moreover, this will void your warranty claims.
  • Operate the appliance only at household-usual power sockets. Check if the mains voltage stated on the type plate is up to that of your power supply network.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Cloer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid damage.
  • Pull power plug of the power socket

– in case of a defect,

- if the appliance is not used for a longer time,

– before any cleaning,

– during no supervision,

– before removing the lid.

  • Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges and do not tighten it too tight, do not use it for carrying and protect it from heat (hotplate, for example).
  • This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • This appliance must not be used by children. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children to ensure they do not play with it.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  • Protect your appliance from humidity (splash water / rain).
  • Let the appliance cool off before cleaning or stowing away.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • The appliance is suitable for shredding herbs, vegetables, fruit and meat (without bones). It is not suitable for shredding hot, fluid or hard foods or ice cubes. Improper use can lead to injury.
  • The blades are very sharp. Hold them by the plastic part only.
  • Caution: When handling the sharp cutting blades, when emptying the container and when cleaning.
  • Clean all surfaces/parts of the appliance which have come into contact with the food after use. See information about cleaning on the following pages.

Before the first use

Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time.

  • Remove all packing parts and possibly stickers, but not the type plate nor the serial number.
  • Clean the bowl and the blades with a damp cloth.
  • Place the Multi-Shredder on a dry, level, non-slip surface.

ATTENTION! Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.

  • The maximum processing time should not exceed 10 seconds in one go.
  • Use the appliance in bursts, and not for more than 60 seconds between breaks. Leave the appliance to cool down for 2-3 minutes once this time is over.
  • Do not put any hot food in the bowl. Let the food cool down somewhat.
  • Do not pour any liquids into the bowl.
  • Do not shred any extremely hard food or ice cubes. This can damage the appliance.

Set-up

- Carefully place the middle and upper blades onto the lower one and turn the latter anticlockwise until the blades engage.

CAUTION! The blades are very sharp! Only ever touch them on the plastic part. Danger of injury!

  • Place the plastic hubs of the blades onto the shaft in the middle of the glass bowl.
  • The three-piece blade set can also be operated without the two upper blades. However, the best results are obtained when all 3 blades are used.

  • Cut the food into small pieces and put it in the glass bowl.
  • Fill the bowl to the maximum level of the top edge of the blade set only.
  • Put the lid on the bowl.
  • Now you can put the motor unit on the lid and turn it gently so that it engages.

  • Plug the plug into a socket.
  • Hold the motor unit firmly in one hand and press the start button with the other to operate the appliance.
  • Note! If the motor unit is not correctly engaged, the appliance will not start.

TIP

Many types of food are best shredded in short bursts. Additionally, interrupt operation regularly for a short time. In the pauses, you can check to see if the desired degree of shredding has already been reached. Observe the maximum running times.

  • Once the desired degree of shredding has been reached, wait for a moment until the blades have come to a complete standstill.
  • Pull the power plug from the socket.
    • Take off the motor unit and the lid.
  • Carefully take the blade set out of the glass bowl by the plastic.
  • You can now take the shredded food out of the bowl.

Cleaning

• Always disconnect the mains plug before cleaning.
- Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid, and do not put it in the dishwasher.
- Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth.
- Clean the blades under running water, holding them by the plastic.

CAUTION! The blades are very sharp! Only ever touch them on the plastic part. Danger of injury!

  • Clean the lid, lid seal and glass bowl under running water and dry them thoroughly.
    • The bowl and lid are dishwasher-safe.
  • Do not use any harsh cleaning agent, cleaning spray or scouring sponges.

Recipe

Tomato butter Ingredients:

• 40 g dried tomatoes
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 1 tsp. dried oregano or 2 small fresh sprigs
• 1 tsp. dried thyme or 2 small fresh sprigs
- Salt and pepper to taste (around 1/2 tsp. each)
• 20 g tomato purée (1 Tbsp.)
- 125 g soft butter

Preparation:

Put the dried tomatoes and cloves of garlic in the mix container and shred for 3 x 10 seconds.

Add the oregano and thyme, plucked off the stem, together with the salt and pepper, and mix for 1 x 10 seconds.

First distribute the tomato purée, and then the butter in small pieces over it, in the container, and finally pulse the shredder 2-3 times.

Carefully take out the blade, mix the butter briefly with a spoon of a spatula, and season to taste.

You can then put the tomato butter in the refrigerator for around 30 minutes, or use it straight away.

Tsatsiki Ingredient

  • 12 cucumber, peeled, pitted and roughly chopped (150 g)
    • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 12 tsp. pepper

  • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1-2 sticks of dill
    • 150 g Greek yoghurt
    • 150 g quark (similar to fromage frais)

  • 1 tsp. lime juice
    • 1 tsp. olive oil

Preparation:

Mix the coarsely cut, pitted cucumber with the garlic for 5 x 2 seconds.

Push the mixture downwards with a (preferably metal) spoon and pulse twice more.

Add the pepper, salt and coarsely plucked dill and pulse 5 x.

Add the yoghurt, quark, lime juice and oil, and pulse another 5 x.

Carefully remove the blade. Mix the Tsatsiki with a spoon, season to taste and put the Tsatsiki in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

We use environmentally friendly packaging for the transport of our appliances. Please recycle cardboard/ paper and plastic packaging appropriately.

Electrical appliances contain valuable raw materials. When an appliance is worn-out, please take it to a recognised recycling facility. Consult the local authorities for information on recycling appliances.
