Basic Safety Instructions

• This appliance is made for household use or similar use only as for example:
• in kitchens for staff members in stores and offices
• in agricultural estates
• for customers of hotels, motels, bed and breakfast or similar lodging facilities

• A commercial use is not allowed !

• Repairing of Cloer appliances should be only done by the Cloer After Sales Service. Repairs done by unauthorized parties can cause substantial danger for the user. Moreover in this case all claims for warranty will expire.
• Please use the appliance with standard plug socket only. Before use please check if the stated voltage on the rating plate is accordance with your power supply system.

- The appliance has to be connected with a plug socket with protective conductor.

- If the power cord is damaged it has to be replaced by the Cloer After Sales Service to prevent from danger.

- In case of any interference pull the plug out of the plug socket.

- Only pull the plug, never pull the power cord. Never strain the power cord too tight, otherwise there is the risk that the appliance is overturning.

- Do not place the powercord on sharp edges. Do not use the power cord for carrying the appliance and please prevent the appliance and the power cord from heat (stove/cooktop/open fire)

- This appliance can be used from persons with reduced physical, sensoric or mental skills or lack of experience and/or knowledge if these persons are supervised or have been instructed to use the appliance in a safe way and if these persons understand the consequential danger of the appliance.

- The appliance is not allowed to be used by children. Children are not allowed to play with the appliance. Please keep the appliance and the power cord away from children.

- Do not use the appliance outdoor.

- Protect the appliance from humidity (splash water/rain).

- Never dunk the appliance into water.

• After using, the appliance and especially the heater are still releasing residual heat.

- Let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning or storing it.

- Please clean the lunchbox included in the scope of delivery with common dish liquid and warm water. You may also use the dishwasher for it.

• Further information regarding cleaning you can find on the following pages.

- Always open the lid in direction showing away from the body to minimize the risk of being burned by hot steam.

- Only use the appliance for heating up food. During operation always keep the lid close. Wrong handling can cause severe injury

- Attention! During heating up the appliance get hot. Hot steam is passing off from the openings in the lid. Very hot! Can cause burns!

Before first use

• Carefully read this instruction.
• Remove all packing materials including potential stickers, put not the rating sticker and not the serial number.
• Before first use clean the box with a humid, soft fabric.

Initial operation

For heating up a dish do the following:
- Fill the required amount of water into the heating basin and put the plastic parts (dish carrier and carrier ring) in the correct position.
• Fill the food in the lunch box.
- In case of heating up different food at the same time you may use the separator and subdivide the box.
- Do NOT place lid on lunch box.
- Place the lunch box into the carrier ring and close the lid of the appliance.
- Put the plug into the power supply and start the appliance with the left button (I).
- During the entire heating process the white control lamp lights up.
- The heating time is controlled by the volume of water. Less water is shortening the time oft he heating process, more water is extending the time of heating. After water is gone the appliance will switch off. The white control lamp will turn off and an acoustic sound will give ready signal.
• To interrupt the heating process press the OFF button (O).
- Open the lid in direction showing away from the body and hook it. By this condensed water can run back into the appliance.
- Wait a moment until most steam is gone and take out your dish by holding the carrier ring and place it on the tablet.

Amounts of water

The amounts of water, as well as the associated warm-up times are not a must. You can increase or decrease the amount of water as you like. Half a measuring cup changes the warm-up time by about 6-7 minutes.

Attention: Do not fill more than 3.5 measuring cups

Menu for 1 person, approx. 400g:

- If the food to be heated has room temperature, 1 measuring cup of water is usually sufficient to heat the dish. The warm-up time is about 12-14 minutes.

• For dishes from the fridge, meat and fish you should use 1.5 measuring cups of water. The warm-up time is about 19-21 minutes.
• If your dish is frozen, use 2.5 measuring cups of water. The warm-up time is about 31-33 minutes.
• Menu for 2 persons, approx. 800g:
• For the double amount, change the information as follows:
• At room temperature: 2 measuring cups of water, warm-up time approx. 26-28 minutes.
• At refrigerator temperature, meat or fish: 2.5 measuring cups of water, warm-up time approx. 31-33 minutes.
• For deep-frozen dishes: 3.5 measuring cups of water, warm-up time approx. 45-47 minutes.

Cleaning

• Clean dish carrier, carrier ring and tablet with humid fabrics
• The Lunchbox C8 with lid and separator can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
• The basic appliance includes electronics and must not be dunked into water.

Decalcification

• For decalcification use standart liquid decalcifier and follow its user manual
• We recommend the use of DURGOL universal quick-decalcifier
• Before first use please study user manual of Durgol is used without cooking contrary to other common decalcifier.

For decalcifing please note the following:

• For decalcifing please remove all parts and fill the de-calcifier into the basin until last is covered completely
• Heat up the decalcifier for a short time
• Please note that some decalcifier foam a lot. If this is the case please shorten the time of heating up.
• After residence time depending on the used decalcifier is over, pour it away and clean the appliance with a humid fabric.
• Attention: Do not let the decalcifier boil away
• No warranty claims accepted because of calcification!

Environmentally friendly disposal

We use environmentally friendly packaging for the-transport of our appliances. Please recycle cardboard/paper and plastic packaging appropriately.

ATTENTION!

Electrical appliances should not be disposed of with the household trash.

Electrical appliances contain valuable raw materials. When an appliance is worn-out, please take it to a recognised recycling facility. Consult the local authorities for information on recycling appliances.

Warranty

Cloer electrical appliances are in conformity with the currently required EC-guidelines and safety regulations. If your Cloer electrical appliance has a defect or it does not work properly, contact your specialist dealer. Registered clients have at their disposal our technical customer service.

Manufacturer warranty

Please register your appliances in the period of 6 months since the purchase in order to benefit from our manufacturer warranty. The published conditions of warranty in the moment of the registration are valid. You will find conditions of warranty and product registration here:
