Getting started

• Take the device out of the box.
- Remove all the packaging from the product.
- Place the packaging inside the box or dispose of it safely in compliance with the waste sorting instructions shown on the outside.

Safety warning and notice

You must read and understand all the instructions before using this device. The warranty will not apply if damage is caused by failure to follow the instructions.

1. Never remove the device casing.
2. Never place this device on top of other electrical equipment.
3. Protect the power cord from being stepped on or pinched, particularly at the plugs, sockets, and the point where it exits the device. Make sure that the power rating corresponds to the voltage shown on the rating plate at the rear of the device. Always pull the plug from the socket when disconnecting from the mains. Never pull on the cord. Ensure you have completed all the other connections before connecting the mains plug.
4. Only use attachments/accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer.

5. Entrust all device repairs to qualified repairers. Repair is needed when the issues been damaged in any fashion, and in particular:

6. if the power cord is damaged;

7. in the event of a liquid spill or objects being inserted into the device;
8. if the device is exposed to rain or dampness;
9. if the device does not operate normally;

10. or if the device has been dropped or impacted.

11. The series panel is located on the bottom of the device.

12. Never block the air vents.

13. Make sure you have enough space for ventilation. Place the product on a stable surface.

14. This device must be used in a moderate climate, away from direct sunlight, naked flames or sources of heat, heaters, cookers or any other devices (including amplifiers) that generate heat. Do not install near a heat source.

15. The batteries (battery pack or inserted batteries) must not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunshine, fire, etc.

16. Always unplug the device before cleaning it. Never lubricate any part of this device. Clean it with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive products or harsh cleaners.

17. Ensure that you always have easy access to the power cord, plug or adapter to disconnect this device from the mains if necessary.
18. Do not use this device near water. It must not be dripped on or splashed. Do not use this device in a damp or wet environment.
19. Disconnect this device in the event of a storm, or if you intend not to use it for a long period of time.
20. This device can be used by children aged 8 and over, and by persons with a physical or sensory disability, learning difficulties or a lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instructions on the safe use of the device, and they understand the risks involved. Children must not play with the device or the power cord (risk of strangulation). Children must not clean or maintain the device without supervision.
21. This device must only be supplied with very low safety voltage as indicated on the device.
22. The battery should be removed from the device before disposal. The device must be disconnected from the power supply when removing the battery.
23. When in operation, the device must be at a minimum distance of 20 cm from the human body.
24. This device is for household use only; do not use outdoors.

The lightning bolt symbol within an equilateral triangle alerts users to the presence of dangerous uninsulated voltages, inside the device, that may present a risk of electric shock.

The exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates the presence of important operating and maintenance (repair) instructions in the literature accompanying the device.

Description of parts

TV Audio OPTICAL AUX USB DC

TV Audio TV Input – Connects to the digital TV port of your television screen
Optical Digital	Audio In (optical) - Connects to the digital (optical) output of an external device.
AUX AUX (3.5 mm)	- Connects to the analogue output of an external device.
USB USB Con	nects to a USB drive to play audio files directly through the soundbar.
DC Mains Input (Power Input)	- Connects to the AC adapter

TV Connection

AUX input

1. Press the Mode button or on the remote control to select the AUX input. The light will turn yellow.
2. Use the correct AUX cable to connect an audio source to the soundbar.
3. Play music from your connected device and adjust the volume directly on your device or by using the volume buttons on the remote control.

TV Audio input

1. Connect the soundbar's high-speed TV cable to the audio port of the television screen.
2. Select the green LED light by pressing the TV button on the remote control, or by pressing the Mode button.
3. Set the TV's audio output to "PCM". (More information on the PCM page)

Optical input

1. Press the Mode button to select the optical input. The light will turn white.
2. Use the correct optical cable to connect an audio source to the soundbar.
3. Play music from your connected device and adjust the volume directly on your device or by using the volume buttons on the remote control.

Setting the "PCM" on your TV

If no sound comes from the television or the soundbar when all cables are connected properly, and if the LED light is showing the right colour (optical or TV audio connection), adjust the settings of your television as follows:

1. Press the Menu button on the TV remote control.
2. Select "Audio Settings".
3. Select "Advanced audio" - some TVs do not have an "Advanced Audio" menu and may display different audio settings instead.
4. Select "Audio Output Mode" or "Digital Audio Output Mode".
5. Select "PCM" as the audio output mode.
6. Press "OK" to save the settings

Digital audio output settings may differ by brand, so please check your TV's user manual.

Bluetooth operation

1. Switch on the soundbar and switch into Bluetooth mode by pressing the Mode button or BT on the remote control, the light will turn blue.
2. Use the "Settings" function of your device (mobile phone, tablet, etc.) and search for nearby Bluetooth devices: You will find "SB402BT" in the list.

3. Pair your device with "SB402BT".

4. Play the audio tracks on your device and adjust the volume according to preference.

5. Double-tap quickly to disconnect Bluetooth.

USB operation

1. Insert a USB stick into the USB A port at the rear.
2. Press the USB button on the remote control or press the Mode button (3) on the device. The purple light will come on.
3. The maximum size of the USB media for MP3 playback must not exceed 32 GB.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
No sound	Check that the power indicator is ON.
	Try increasing the volume by using the volume buttons.
	Make sure that the audio cables are securely connected and the input is properly set to the soundbar.
	Check if there is an output signal from the audio source.
Unable to connect via Bluetooth	Make sure that the soundbar is set to Bluetooth input; in another audio input mode, Bluetooth cannot be paired or connected.
	Disconnect any Bluetooth device by pressing and holding the volume button in Bluetooth mode, then try again.
The SB402BT soundbar does not turn on.	The effective Bluetooth transmission range is 10 metres; remember not to exceed this range.
	Try connecting another Bluetooth device.
	Check that the unit is properly connected to the mains and the mains socket is switched on.

This product contains one or more batteries.

• Use batteries correctly to prevent any injury or fire caused by a leak, overheating, explosion, erosion or other damage.
• Keep new and used batteries out of the reach of children or any vulnerable person. Stop using the device if the battery compartment does not close properly.
• If the liquid from an alkaline battery comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with fresh water and consult a physician.
• If an alkaline battery leaks, clean the liquid with a cloth and replace the battery with a new one.
• Do not swallow batteries. If swallowed, a battery can cause severe internal burns in 2 hours and can cause death. If batteries are swallowed, contact a poison centre immediately and consult a physician.
• Use AA Ni-MH, alkaline or lithium batteries.
• Do not charge these batteries. Charging non-rechargeable batteries generates gas or heat emissions that can cause explosions or fires.
• Do not use different types of batteries or a mixture of new and old batteries.
• Insert the batteries according to the correct polarity (+ and -).
• Do not allow the same battery poles to be in contact.
• Remove spent batteries quickly. There is a risk of the battery exploding if it is not replaced or if the device is unused for a long period of time.
• Replace the battery with an identical or equivalent model.
• The batteries (or battery pack) must not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunlight, fire, etc.
• Do not heat batteries or dispose of them in a fire or in water.
• Do not use metal pliers or metal objects such as the point of a pen or tweezers to remove batteries. Avoid deforming, crushing or piercing batteries.
• Do not disassemble the batteries.
• Cover the ends of the batteries with tape to prevent explosions and combustion when these are scrapped.
• Scrap batteries and an environmentally friendly way.
• Do not dispose of batteries in ordinary household waste.
• Be sure to comply with the local regulations in force when scrapping batteries.

Note: the maximum connection distance is approximately 10 metres. Place your Bluetooth speaker as close as possible to the device to avoid any interference with the connection.

The device may turn off in an environment with electrostatic discharge. The user must then recharge the battery and reset the device.

Additional information

• When the device does not transmit audio output for a certain amount of time, it will automatically go into standby mode to save energy. It can then be switched back on using the power selector
• If an incoming call is received while the SB402BT system is connected to your mobile phone during music playback, the music will immediately pause when you answer the call and start again once the call is finished. Depending on the mobile phone, playback may sometimes stay paused after the end of the call.
