Frequently Asked Questions - Power Espresso 20 Tradizionale CECOTEC

How to prepare an espresso with the Power Espresso 20 Tradizionale?
Fill the filter with ground coffee, tamp it with the measuring spoon, insert the portafilter into the machine, place a cup under the spouts, then lower the coffee switch. Once the desired amount is obtained, raise the switch.
How to froth milk with the steam wand?
After preparing the coffee, lower the steam switch to preheat. Wait until the blue light stays steady. Submerge the nozzle 1 to 2 cm into cold milk (preferably whole milk), then gently turn the steam selector counterclockwise. Froth by moving the glass up and down, then close the selector.
Why does my coffee flow too quickly or too slowly?
Too fast flow indicates too coarse grind or insufficient tamping. Too slow or no flow can be due to too fine grind, excessive tamping, or a clogged filter. Adjust the grind and tamping.
How to descale the machine?
Use a descaling product diluted according to the instructions in the water tank. Run the mixture through the coffee and steam circuits. Then rinse with two tanks of clean water. Regular descaling (every 2-3 months) is recommended.
What to do if the steam wand is clogged?
Clean the metal tube of the nozzle with a fine needle to remove residue. You can also run steam for internal cleaning. If the problem persists, perform a complete descaling.
Why does water leak under the machine?
Check that the drip tray is not full: empty it regularly. Also ensure the water tank is properly installed and the level does not exceed the Max mark.
Can I use pre-ground commercial coffee?
Yes, the machine is designed for ground coffee. Use a grind suitable for espresso, neither too fine nor too coarse.
How to clean the portafilter and filters?
After each use, remove the arm and filters, empty the grounds, then wash them with warm water and a mild detergent. They are not dishwasher safe. Dry well before reassembling.
The machine does not turn on, what to do?
Check that the plug is connected and the main switch is in the on position. If the problem persists, contact Cecotec after-sales service at +34 9 63 21 07 28.
What is the warranty of the Power Espresso 20 Tradizionale?

Descaling procedure for the Power Espresso 20 Tradizionale

Regular descaling is essential to maintain the proper functioning of your machine and ensure the quality of your coffee. The accumulation of mineral deposits reduces pressure and the amount of coffee dispensed. If you notice that your machine is producing little coffee or almost no pressure, a complete descaling is necessary.

Descaling steps:

  • Dissolve a descaling product according to the manufacturer's instructions in the water tank of your Power Espresso 20 Tradizionale, then fill the tank completely.
  • Run the descaling product through the coffee and steam conduits until the tank is completely empty.
  • Empty the water tank and clean it thoroughly.
  • Fill the tank with clean water and run two full tanks of clean water through the coffee and steam conduits to remove any descaling residues.

Important: Only use descaling products designed for coffee machines. Descale regularly to prevent limescale buildup and maintain optimal performance of your machine.
