Frequently Asked Questions - 561952 Intellinet

What is the maximum distance I can achieve with this PoE extender?
The maximum total distance between the PoE switch and the end device can reach 800 meters when using two extenders and Cat5e/6 cables.
Is this extender compatible with PoE cameras?
Yes, it is compatible with any device that complies with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt, including PoE cameras, access points, and other peripherals.
How do I install the two extenders?
Connect an Ethernet cable between the PoE source and the Output of the first extender. Then, connect the Input of the first extender to the Input of the second extender. Finally, connect the Output of the second extender to your device.
What type of cable should I use?
Use Ethernet Cat5e or Cat6 cables to ensure optimal performance, with a maximum length of 100 meters for source-side and device-side segments.
Can I use this extender with a PoE injector?
Yes, you can use a PoE switch or a PoE injector as the power source, as long as it is compatible with 802.3af/at/bt standards.
What power can I expect at the receiving end?
The available power depends on the PoE standard of the source and the cable length. For example, with a 802.3at (30 W) source and 1 m + 400 m + 1 m cables, you get approximately 23.98 W.
Is the data rate affected by distance?
Yes, for long distances (800 m), the data rate may drop to 10 Mbps. For shorter distances, the data rate can reach 100 Mbps.
Do I need to connect the two extenders in series?
Yes, the two units must be used together: the first extender is connected to the source, the second to the device, and they are connected to each other via an Ethernet cable.
Is there a special procedure for waterproof connections?
For optimal waterproofing, unscrew the nut, remove the insert, thread the cable, then tightly screw each component back on following the manual steps. Use a wrench if necessary.
What to do in case of connection issues?
Check the cable connections, PoE standard compatibility, and source power. Consult the power tables in the manual to ensure the configuration is suitable.
