6. Initial commissioning and initial settings

Switching on the device and the laser.
Press for a long time to switch off the device. Alternatively, the device switches to the standby mode if it is not used for approx. 3 minutes.
C/OFF "Clear/Power Off" button cancels the last action and clears the current display. In the "history", the "Clear/Power Off" button clears the currently displayed value.
6.1 Measurement reference
The position of the measurement reference edge of the device can be adjusted as desired. The desired reference point can be set using the “Measurement
reference" button ( )
The configured reference point is displayed on the top left. Restarting the device resets the configured measurement reference point to the default setting.
6.2 Selecting the measurement unit
Press the "UNITS" button to select the desired measurement unit.
The following measurement units are available: m (metre), in (inch) and ft (foot).
7. Measuring
7.1 Single distance measurement
Press the "ON" button to switch on the laser. Press this button once again to start the measurement. The measured data is subsequently shown on the display.

7.2 Continuous measurement
To perform a continuous measurement, press the "ON" button to switch on the laser. Press and hold the button once again to start the continuous measurement. The display now shows a maximum and a minimum measurement value. To stop continuous measurement, press the "C/OFF" button.
The following figure shows examples for continuous measurement:

7.3 Configuring the measurement reference
Press the button to change the measurement reference. The symbol in the display shows the point of the laser measuring device from which the measurement is being made.

8. Functions
Plus/Minus Distance measurement
+ Press the "PLUS" button in the individual measurement in order to add the next measurement value to the previous measurement value.
— Press the “MINUS” button in the individual measurement in order to subtract the next measurement value from the previous measurement value.
If you press the "CLR" button once during these steps, then the last measured value is deleted. If you then press the "CLR" button again, then the "C/OFF" function is cancelled.
Area measurement
Press the “” button to activate surface measurement. The “” symbol is shown in the display. Press the “” button to measure the length of the desired object.
Press the "button again to subsequently measure the height of the object. The corresponding measured area is now shown in the display.
Volume measurement
Press the “” button twice till the “” symbol is shown in the display.
Press the "MEAS" button to measure the length of the desired object. Then press the "MEAS" button again to measure the width of the same object. Then you must again press the "MEAS" button to measure the height of the object.
Once you have measured the 3 values, the volume of the object is shown in the display.
Special functions (Pythagoras)
This mode is meant for the automatic calculation of the Pythagorean theorem. There are three different Pythagorean measurements. Select the desired measurement and then carry out the measurement.
Press the "MENU" button once, until the desired symbol of the respective Pythagoras measurement appears in the display ("", "", ""). Press the "Switch on/Measure" button to perform the first measurement. Then measure the second desired point of the object. The respective Pythagorean side that you are currently measuring flashes in the display.
Stored measured values
"Button: Using this button you can view the last 100 stored measurements. You can scroll through the values using the "+" and "-" buttons. To delete an entry, select the corresponding measurement and press the "C/OFF" button.
Angle function
In the lower left area, the current angle to the horizontal is displayed. Notes for measurements
- If the upper surface of the object to be measured is a liquid or a clear and transparent substance, then the measurement may result in an error.
- If the object to be measured is highly reflective, then the laser may also be reflected and errors may occur in the measurement.
- If the object to be measured is very dark or hardly reflective, then the time required for measurement may increase.
- Sunlight adversely affects the range of the device!
9. Error display and troubleshooting
