Frequently Asked Questions - 4CHPROR3 Sonoff

Why is my device still offline?
A newly added device may take 1-2 minutes to connect to Wi-Fi and the server. If it remains offline, check the Wi-Fi LED indicator: a short blink once per second indicates a problem connecting to the router (incorrect password, too far distance, interference, 5 GHz Wi-Fi not supported, MAC filtering active). A blink twice per second indicates connection to the router but not to the server (unstable network). Try restarting the device or creating a mobile hotspot.
How do I know if my device is connected to Wi-Fi?
The Wi-Fi LED indicator (blue) stays solid when the device is successfully connected to Wi-Fi and the server. A rapid blink (two short, one long) indicates quick pairing mode. A continuous rapid blink indicates compatible pairing mode.
How to pair the device for the first time?
After powering on the device, the Wi-Fi indicator blinks twice quickly and then once slowly (Touch pairing mode). Open the eWeLink app, press '+', select 'Quick Pairing', and follow the instructions. If you cannot enter this mode, hold any pairing button for 5 seconds until the indicator changes, then release. Then try compatible mode.
How to use compatible pairing mode?
Hold any pairing button for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator blinks rapidly. Press '+' in the app and select 'Compatible Pairing Mode'. Connect to the Wi-Fi network 'ITEAD-******' with the password '12345678', then return to the app and press 'Next'. Wait for pairing to complete.
How to pair an RF 433 MHz remote control?
Hold the button of the desired channel on the device for 3 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator turns red and blinks once quickly. Release, then briefly press the corresponding button on the remote. If the red indicator blinks once quickly again, pairing is successful. To unpair, hold the channel button for 5 seconds until two red blinks, then press the remote button.
How to reset the device to factory settings?
Simply delete the device in the eWeLink app. This restores it to factory settings. You can also hold the pairing button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode, but deleting it in the app is the recommended method.
Can I use 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No, the device only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n). Make sure your router broadcasts a 2.4 GHz network or disable the 5 GHz band temporarily during pairing.
What should I do if the Wi-Fi indicator blinks twice quickly?
This means the device is connected to the router but cannot connect to the server. Check your internet connection stability. If the network works, restart the device (turn off and on again). If the problem persists, your ISP may block certain ports; contact them.
How to change Wi-Fi network?
Hold any pairing button for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator blinks in a cycle (two short, one long). Release, the device enters quick pairing mode. Open the eWeLink app and add the device again on the new network.
Does the device support voice control?
Yes, via the eWeLink app, it is compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You must first configure the device in the app, then link your eWeLink account to your voice assistant.

Common Problems

Q: Why my device stays "Offline"?

A: The newly added device needs 1 – 2mins to connect Wi-Fi and network. If it stays offline for a long time, please judge these problems by the blue Wi-Fi indicator status:

  1. The blue Wi-Fi indicator quickly flashes once per second, which means that the switch failed to connect your Wi-Fi:

① Maybe you have entered a wrong Wi-Fi password.
② Maybe there's too much distance between the switch your router or the environment causes interference, consider getting close to the router. If failed, please add it again.
③ The 5G Wi-Fi network is not supported and only supports the 2.4GHz wireless network.
④ Maybe the MAC address filtering is open. Please turn it off.

If none of the above methods solved the problem, you can open the mobile datanetwork on your phone to create a Wi-Fi hotspot, then add the device again.

  1. Blue indicator quickly flashes twice per second, which means your device has connected to Wi-Fi but failed to connect to the server.

Ensure steady enough network. If double flash occurs frequently, which means you access an unsteady network, not a product problem. If the network is normal, try to turn off the power to restart the switch.
