Frequently Asked Questions - Express CM430Y10 TEFAL

How to prepare my first coffee with the Tefal Express CM430Y10?
Before first use, run the coffee maker without coffee with a carafe of water to rinse it. Then fill the tank with cold water, place a paper or permanent filter, add ground coffee (one level scoop per large cup), and start the cycle.
What is the maximum water capacity of the tank?
The tank can hold up to 1.25 L of water, allowing you to prepare about 10 cups of coffee. Do not exceed the indicated maximum level.
How to use the stop-drip function?
The stop-drip function allows you to remove the carafe during brewing to serve a cup before the cycle ends. Replace the carafe quickly to avoid spills.
How to adjust coffee strength with the aroma selector?
Turn the aroma selector towards the dark cup for a stronger coffee, or towards the light cup for a milder coffee. This function adjusts the brewing time.
Can I use the thermal carafe in the dishwasher or microwave?
No, the thermal carafe should not be placed in the dishwasher or microwave. To clean it, use warm water with a little dish soap and rinse thoroughly.
How often should I descale the coffee maker?
Descale approximately every 40 cycles. Use a descaler packet diluted in two large cups of water, or two large cups of white vinegar. Follow the procedure: let one cup run, stop for 1 hour, then finish the cycle and rinse with 2-3 cycles of clean water.
What types of filters can I use?
You can use paper filters size 2 or 4, or a permanent filter (optional) included with some models. The removable filter holder is dishwasher safe.
How to clean the glass carafe?
The glass carafe without metal rim is dishwasher safe (without the lid). Otherwise, wash it with a sponge and soapy water. Do not microwave if it has any metal parts.
What to do if the coffee is too weak or too strong?
Adjust the aroma selector according to your taste. You can also change the amount of ground coffee: one level scoop per cup is recommended. Use a grind suitable for filters (medium grind).
Is it safe to leave the coffee maker on unattended?
The coffee maker is designed for household use and meets safety standards. However, it is not recommended to leave it unattended during operation. Unplug it after use.
