How to clean the Vornado 573 fan?

First unplug the appliance. Remove the grille by turning it to the left, then clean it with a damp cloth. For the blade, remove the nut (if present) and pull the blade forward. Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse in water.

How to remove the fan grille?

Unplug the appliance. Use a screwdriver to remove the locking screw. Turn the grille counterclockwise to unlock it, then pull it forward.

Unplug the appliance. Remove the grille. If a nut is present (model 573 does not have one), loosen it. Pull the blade horizontally to disengage it from the motor shaft. Clean with a damp cloth.

What to do if the fan does not turn on?

Do Not position this product too close to draperies or other loose fabrics as they may be drawn into the product, cutting off airflow and damaging the motor.
Do Not carry this product by the cord, or use the cord as a handle as it can damage internal wiring. Do not unplug product by pulling on cord or place the cord under strain. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the power cord.
Do Not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.

Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. To avoid a tripping hazard, safely coil/store the power cord.
Do Not tamper with or modify this product in any way.
Do Not allow the power cord to come in contact with water or wet locations. Do Not place power cord near heat sources, such as heaters or radiators.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION: Only a proper 230V-50Hz AC outlet may be used to connect to public power supply.

FEATURES

Save energy by maximizing the performance of heating and cooling systems. When you use a Vornado Air Circulator, you will not have to set your summertime thermostat as low or your winter-time thermostat as high.

CLEANING

GRILL REMOVAL (Models 270, 279) Screwdriver required.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury to persons, power off and unplug the circulator before removing grill.

1. Remove the screw located at the 6 o'clock position.
2. Rotate the grill counter clockwise to unlock and then lift it
3. To remodel the grill, position the grill with the logo slightly turned to the left and rotzo clockwise. Replace the screw.

Note: The motor is permanently lubricated and requires no cooling.

CLEANING

GRILL REMOVAL (Models 573,673,679) Screwdriver required.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury to persons, power off and unplug the circulator before removing grill.

1. Remove the 8 screws around the perimeter of the frame and lift off.
2. To reinstall the grill, line up screw holes and replace screws.

CLEANING

BLADE REMOVAL Piers required.

1. First, remove the nut from the shaft by turning the nut clockwise to loosen (model 573 has no nut). If included, remove washers and set aside. Pull the blade straight out from the shaft.
2. Wipe the Blade with a damp cloth. If your circulator is used in a greasy environment, such as a kitchen, mild soap or a common household cleaner may be necessary. Do not use solvents. Do not place blade in the dishwasher. The excessive heat can distort the plastic.
3. To react back - be certain the flat side of the shaft aligns directly with the corresponding flat side on the blade's socket. Push the blade all the way on the shaft until it bottoms out. Do not use a hammer as this could result in bearing damage. It included, reinstall provided wackers and nut.

Unit is not plugged in. Plug Power Cord into electrical outlet.

Airflow is weak or slow.

Eraure unit fan speed setting is selected.

Unit is damaged or in need of repair. Fee usage and unplug. Contact Consumer Services for assistance.

The outlet is worn or damaged. Try another outlet or contact a qualified electrician.

Airlow is blocked. Remove obstruction.

Adjust direction of airflow towards the user.

GFCI has tripped.

Under certain conditions, it is possible for a reset GFCI Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter outlet to trip when the user is changing speeds on a Vornado circulator. In this event, change to an outlet that is not connected to a GFCI device. It could also indicate a weak or defective GFCI outlet. Contact a qualified technician to check the GFCI outlet.
