How to use the Buffalo DM868 sous vide circulator?
Install the circulator on a suitable container (min. depth 200 mm) using the adjustable clamp. Fill with water between the MIN and MAX marks. Plug in the appliance, turn it on, set the desired temperature and time, then press to start heating. Place your vacuum-sealed food in the water once the temperature is reached.
What maximum temperature can I reach with the Buffalo DM868?
The circulator can heat water up to 100 °C. The container used must be able to withstand this temperature.
What to do if the screen displays error code E01?
Error code E01 indicates that the device is not properly immersed or that the water level is too low. Check that the circulator is in the water and that the level is between the MIN and MAX marks. Add water if necessary.
How to clean the Buffalo DM868 sous vide circulator?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. You can remove the metal guard using the supplied hex key by unscrewing the 8 screws. Clean the inside and outside with a damp cloth. Replace the guard before any use.
How to descale the device?
Regular descaling is necessary. Use a food-grade descaler following the product instructions. This will improve heating speed and prevent breakdowns.
What to do if the circulator does not heat?
First check that the appliance is plugged in and the switch is ON. If the thermal protection has triggered, let the device cool down then press the reset button located under the plastic cover at the front.
Can I use the appliance without the rear metal guard?
No, never use the circulator without the rear guard. It protects the heating element and the circulation system. Always put it back after cleaning.
What is the minimum container depth for the Buffalo DM868?
The container must have a minimum depth of 200 mm to ensure proper immersion of the circulator.
How to set the temperature and time on the device?
Use the + and - buttons to adjust the temperature (in °C or °F) and time. Press to start the cycle. The LCD screen shows the settings and remaining time.
What does the 'water circulation' symbol mean?
When this symbol appears on the screen, it indicates that the water is being stirred by the circulator to ensure a homogeneous temperature in the water bath.
