How to descale my Moulinex FG 360D coffee maker?

Descale every 40 cycles with a packet of descaling solution diluted in 2 large cups of water (or 2 cups of white vinegar). Pour into the tank, brew one cup, stop for 1 hour, then finish the cycle. Rinse 2 to 3 times with clean water.

What type of filter to use for the FG 360D model?

Use a paper filter #2 or #4, or the optional permanent filter. Place the filter in the removable filter holder.

How to use the thermal carafe of the coffee maker?

For preparation and keep warm, lock the thermal carafe lid by turning to the right until it stops. To serve, press the lever or unscrew 1/2 turn to the left. The carafe keeps coffee hot for up to 4 hours.

What to do if the coffee maker does not stop or overflows?

Check that you have not exceeded the maximum water amount indicated on the tank. Always replace the carafe or thermal carafe after serving a cup. If the problem persists, descale the appliance.

Can I clean the carafe and thermal carafe in the dishwasher?

The glass carafe without metal parts can go in the dishwasher (without its lid). The thermal carafe should not be placed in the dishwasher or microwave. Clean it by hand with soapy water.

How to adjust coffee strength with the aroma selector?

Turn the aroma selector (fig.7) towards the black cup for a stronger coffee. This adjustment affects the water contact time with the ground coffee.

The coffee maker leaks, what to check?

Make sure the filter holder is properly in place and the filter is not torn. Check that the water tank is not cracked and that the carafe or thermal carafe is correctly positioned.

How long does it take to brew a pot of coffee?

Preparation time depends on the amount of water. Generally, a full pot takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

Can I use the coffee maker without a filter?

No, you must always use a paper filter or the permanent filter. Without a filter, the grounds would pass into the coffee and could clog the appliance.

How to reheat already brewed coffee?

Do not reheat coffee in the carafe in the microwave if it has a metal part. Instead, reheat the coffee in a mug in the microwave or use the coffee maker's warming plate by putting the carafe back in place.

The warming plate is very hot when the appliance is in use.
- Never place your hand on the warming plate while the coffee maker is in operation.
- Allow the appliance to cool down completely before you clean and store it.
- Never insert your hand inside the thermal pot.
- Do not use the jug or thermal pot without their lids.
- Do not use the jug or thermal pot on a flame or electric hob.
- Do not put water into the appliance when it is still warm.
Always close the lid (a) when the coffeemaker is in operation.
- All appliances are subject to rigorous quality inspection. Practical tests using appliances taken at random are conducted and this may explain any possible traces of use.
- The glass jug without a metal part is microwave and dishwasher safe (ATTENTION: the thermal pot must not be placed in the microwave or dishwasher).
- The power cord must never be close to or in contact with hot parts of the appliance, close to a source of heat or resting on sharp edges.
- Never place the appliance close to a wall or below a wall cupboard. The steam could cause damage.
- Never place the appliance below or close to easily inflammable objects (e.g. curtains, etc.).
After switching on your coffee maker, never put your hand on the warming plate when you are removing the jug from the coffee maker. While in operation, this plate has a very high temperature, which could cause burns.

Before using for the first time

• Use your filter coffee maker without coffeem the first time using the equivalent of a jug of water to rinse your coffee maker.

Preparing the coffee

(Follow figures 1 to 9)

• Use only cold water and filter paper n'2 or 4 (fig.5) or the permanent filter* (fig.4).

• Do not exceed the maximum quantity of water indicated by the water level on the tank.

• This coffee maker has a drip stop so that you can serve coffee before the end of the cycle. Once your coffee is served, replace the jug or thermal pot* to prevent overflowing.
  Ground Coffee: Use one measuring spoon of ground coffee per large cup.

• Wait a few minutes before making a second pot of coffee.
• Do not make another pot of coffee if the jug already contains coffee.

Thermal pot*

• Do not use the thermal pot without its lid.
• The thermal pot lid must be closed tightly all the way to the right to prepare the coffee and keep it warm.
  To serve the coffee, press the lever on the lid of the thermal pot downwards or unscrew the lid half a turn to the left*
• Do not put your thermal pot in the microwave or dishwasher.
• Rinse the thermal pot in hot water before using so that it retains heat better and do not put it back inside the coffee maker after you have prepared the coffee.
• The thermal pot keeps your coffee warm for four hours maximum.

Aroma selector* (see figure n°7)

The aroma selector (fig.7) allows you to adjust the intensity of the coffee.
For a stronger coffee, turn the aroma selector to the black cup.

Reheating the coffee

• Do not put the glass jug into the microwave if it has a metallic part (e.g.: metal band).

Cleaning

• To dispose of the used coffee grounds, remove the filter paper (fig.5) or permanent filter* (fig.4).
• Unplug and let the coffee maker cool down.
• Clean with a cloth or wet sponge.
• Do not clean the appliance when it is still hot.
• Never immerse the appliance, the power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.

Dishwasher:

• The removable filter holder is dishwasher safe.
  Only glass jugs without a metal band can be placed in the dishwasher (without lid).

Thermal jug*

• Do not clean with abrasive cleaning products.
• Do not put your hand inside to clean (risk of breaks).
  To clean your Thermal jug, fill it with soapy water and then rinse out thoroughly.
• In cases where the jug becomes very stained by the coffee, fill it with lukewarm water, add a dishwasher detergent tablet and let it soak. Afterwards, rinse out thoroughly.

Dscaling

• Descale your coffee maker every 40 uses.
  You can use:

• a sachet of descending agent diluted in two large cups of water;
  -or two large cups of commercially available white vinegar.

• Pour into the tank (b) and turn on the coffee maker (without coffee).

• Allow the equivalent of one cup flow into the jug or thermal pot (f) then stop your coffee maker (you will have to turn off the coffee maker on some automatic models).
• Allow to act for one hour.
• Restart the coffee maker to stop the flow.
• Run the coffee maker two or three times with the equivalent of one jug of water to rinse.

The guarantee excludes coffee makers that are not working or are not working properly due to lack of descending.
