⚠ WARNING!

The device and the packaging material are not children's toys! Do not let children play with plastic bags, films or small parts! There is a danger of choking or suffocating!

9. Assembly

Warning!

Always pull out the mains plug before adjusting the product.

Installing a suction line (fig. 1)

  1. Screw a suction hose (plastic hose min. 19 mm (3/4")) directly or with a threaded nipple, approx. 30.75 mm (G1"), to the suction connection (5) of the pump.
  2. Lay the suction line from the water pick-up point to the pump in a continuously rising slope. Ensure that the suction line is not laid above the pump height. Air bubbles in the suction line delay and prevent the suction process.

  3. Install the suction and pressure lines in order to avoid a mechanical pressure on the pump.

  4. The suction line should be located deep enough in the water to prevent the pump from running dry if the water level drops.
  5. A leaking suction line will prevent the water from being sucked in due to air ingress.
  6. Avoid sucking in foreign bodies (sand etc.).

Filling the pump with water (fig. 3)

NOTE!

In order to reduce the start-up time of the pump and to prevent air being sucked in, the pump must be filled with water beforehand!

  1. Therefore, the suction line should be installed to prevent water from flowing out of the suction connection (5).
  2. Use the opening of the pressure connection (1) to fill the pump with water. Alternatively, you can fill in water through the opening of the pre-filter cap (6).
  3. Slightly tilt the pump now and then to avoid air being trapped.
  4. Now, attach the pressure line as described in the next point.

Installing a pressure line (fig. 1)

  1. Connect a pressure line (min. 19 mm (3/4")) directly or with a threaded nipple, approx. 30.75 mm (G1"), to the pressure connection (1) of the pump.
  2. During the suction process, completely open the consumers in the pressure line (spray nozzles, valves, etc.) to allow the air in the suction line to escape freely.

10. Start up

⚠ Attention!

Always make sure the product is fully assembled before commissioning!

  1. Set up the product on solid, level and horizontal ground.
  2. Open the pressure line.
  3. Connect the mains cable.
  4. Switch on the product using the on/off switch (3). At maximum suction height, the suction process can take up to 5 minutes.
  5. After completing your work, switch off the product using the on/off switch (3).

NOTE!

The pump must be absolutely tight at the inlet and outlet. Therefore, regardless of your chosen connection, use a Teflon or any other sealing tape.

11. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and ready for operation. The connection complies with the applicable VDE and DIN provisions. The customer's mains connection as well as the extension cable used must also comply with these regulations.

Damaged electrical connection cable

The insulation on electrical connection cables is often damaged.

This may have the following causes:

  • Pressure points, where connection cables are passed through windows or doors.
  • Kinks where the connection cable has been improperly fastened or routed.
  • Places where the connection cables have been cut due to being driven over.
    • Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the wall outlet.
  • Cracks due to the insulation ageing.

Such damaged electrical connection cables must not be used and are life-threatening due to the insulation damage.

Check the electrical connection cables for damage regularly. Ensure that the connection cables are disconnected from electrical power when checking for damage.

The printing of the type designation on the connection cable is mandatory.

For single-phase AC motors, we recommend a fuse rating of C 16A or K 16A for machines with a high starting current (from 3000 watts)!

AC motor 230 V\~ / 50 Hz

Mains voltage 230 V\~ / 50 Hz.

Mains power connection and extension leads must be 3-core = P + N + SL. - (1/N/PE).

Extension cables up to 25 m long must have a cross-section of 1.5 mm ^4 .

The mains power connection must be protected with a max. 16 A fuse.

12. Cleaning and maintenance

⚠ Attention!

Only carry out maintenance, cleaning and adjustment work when the mains plug is pulled out.

We recommend that you clean the product directly after every use.

Clean the product at regular intervals using a damp cloth and a little soft soap. Do not use any cleaning products or solvents; they could attack the plastic parts of the product. Make sure that no water can penetrate the motor.

• We recommend regular inspections and care for a long service life.
- Before extended periods of inactivity or through the winter, the pump should be thoroughly flushed through with water, emptied completely and then stored dry.
- To empty the pump housing, loosen the water drain plug (8) and tilt the pump slightly.
- If there is a risk of frost the pump must be completely emptied.
• After longer periods of storage check the pump by switching on/off briefly in order to check that the rotor turns normally.
- In the event of the pump being jammed connect the pressure line to the water supply line and remove the suction hose. Open the water supply line. Switch the pump on for ca. two seconds several times. This method rectifies blockages in most cases.
• To clean the pre-filter (7) unscrew the pre-filter cap (6) and remove it. Afterwards, clean it with clear water.

Connections and repairs

Connections and repair work on the electrical equipment may only be carried out by electricians.

Please provide the following information in the event of any enquiries:

• Type of current for the motor
• Data of machine type plate
• Data of motor type plate
