It is basically not necessary to charge the batteries externally. The batteries are sufficiently charged by the solar cell in summer when it is exposed to direct sunlight. If you use the deterrent as a preventive measure in February, it is advisable to charge the device manually once a week with a charger due to the short days and reduced
sun exposure. If you use the device under the carport or an area that is not exposed to direct sunlight, you can also charge the device permanently with a charger.
Operation:
The Solar Scarecrow detects the movements of the birds within an angle of 110^ and uses two effects to make life uncomfortable for the birds: variable sound and a LED flash. Sound and flash are activated by the motion detector.
- Open the battery compartment and insert the rechargeable batteries. Make sure they are put in with the correct polarity.
- There are 3 switches in the compartment: DAY/NIGHT/OFF and EAGLE/DOG/GUN-SHOT as well as a volume control.
- Switch the ON/OFF switch to DAY or NIGHT to activate the device.
- Then select the desired sound by setting the EAGLE/DOG/GUNSHOT switch.
- Adjust the volume by turning the volume control.
The following operation settings are possible:
| Daytime use Nighttime use | ||||
| Switch | day night | day night | ||
| LED flash | ✗ √ ✗ √ | |||
| Sound | √ √ √ ✗ | |||
You may choose of three enemy sounds: Gunshot, Dog, Eagle
