USER MANUAL 70046 Gardigo

The Solar Gardigo Mole-Ant Repellent Deluxe was designed to deter moles, ants and other burrowing rodents from the garden and lawn. It emits a vibration and a frequency of 400 Hz – 500 Hz into the ground. This irritating sound is very annoying to most ground dwelling animals. Any other use as the mentioned is not permitted! No liabilities will be taken for damages or consequential damages or claims resulting out of not reading and/or not following the user guide and/ or any form of modification on or in the product. Under these circumstances, no warranty services will be granted.

2. Important information on the function and use

The device emits vibrations and acoustic waves of 400 Hz – 500 Hz that are irritating for animals living in the ground. The device does not hinder the animals from being in the area. It makes them feel uncomfortable and the animals will move to other areas, which appear more pleasant and quieter. The dispersion of the underground noise depends on the local conditions and soil. We also recommend to use the device as a preventive measure. Note: The response of each animal to our animal repellent may vary. The development of our devices, methods and ap- plication tips are based on experience, testing and feedback from our customers. Therefore the devices are successful in most cases.

3. Safety instructions

• Electrical appliances, packaging materials, etc. do not belong in the hands of children. Children may not play with the device.

• The device may only be used with the stated voltage: 3 x AA (Mi- gnon), 3 batteries (included)

• The device may only be used by children over eight years and peo- ple with reduced physical, senso- ry or mental capabilities, or the lack of knowledge or experience, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device by a person responsi- ble for their safety and have un- derstood the dangers resulting out of the use.

• If you do not use the device for an extended period of time, remove the batteries and store them ac- cordingly.

• Batteries should not be used in temperatures under 0 °C. They may become damaged and lose their capacity.

• Place the device in such a way that it does not become a trip- ping hazard.

compartment, make sure that the gasket is in place and tighten the cap until the device vi- brates.

4. The earth hole drilling aid allows the device to

gradually be screwed into soft ground. Screw it into the ground and pull it out again to re- move excess soil. Little by little you dig a hole in which the device will fit exactly. Avoid turning the device by the lid. There is a danger of over- screwing it. Do not hammer or force the device into the ground. For hard soils, we recommend digging a hole with our earth hole drill (item no.70040).

5. Insert the Mini Mole Repellent into the ground

down to the green lid. Firmly press the earth around the rod. The firmer and denser the earth around the rod, the better the sound waves are conducted.

6. To change batteries, repeat steps 1 – 3.

if batteries are inserted incorrectly Attention! If the device does not work after inserting the batteries, unscrew the cover and turn the battery cylinder a quarter turn to the left or right. If it still does not work, please check the batteries for functionality!

To successfully and permanently get rid of all moles from your property, there are a few points that must be followed closely: the mole should not be „encircled“ by the Mole Re- pellent. It should be driven from the house towards the bor- ders of the garden. To do this, start by placing one or several devices between the wall of the house and the nearest mole- hill. Never put a device directly into a hill! Gradually move the mole Repellent in 2 to 3 week intervals towards the edge of the garden and away from the house. This time span is need- ed, as you will notice the molehills „migrating“. If the hills are still in the same place after four weeks, please check if the device is really working (the sound is audible). The batteries might be depleted. If this is the case please use a new set of batteries. The span of time needed to move an animal may vary for a number of reasons. The mole might be more resist- ant, or the surrounding soil is mainly sandy or contains a lot of peat or clay. This has an effect on the range and efficiency of the sound. The Solar Gardigo Mole Repellent has an integrated cylinder which allows you to quickly change batteries, without having to retrieve the device. It is also recommended to switch the device off at intervals, as the mole will gradually become ac- customed to the noise. The fact that there might be more molehills than before after a short time of using the device, is quite normal and should not be the cause for worry. The mole notices a change of his environment and wants to find out where it comes from. However in the long run, the sound becomes too annoying and it will move away. The different time periods for the re- action of the animals may have different reasons, e.g. B. the soil is sandy or peat or clay soil. Please note that underground “barriers” such as pipes, foundations, flowerbed surrounds, concrete slabs can block the sound waves.

Turn it off or pull it out peri- odically to avoid a habituation effect.7 Do not throw batteries or rechargeable batteries into household waste! By doing so, you are fulfilling all legal battery recycling and disposal obligations and are contributing to a better enviroment. Make sure batteries are completly discharged before disposing! *marked with: Cd = cadmium Hg = mercuric Pb = lead Enviromental protection notice At the end of its life span this product may not be disposed as normal household waste but must be disposed of at a collecting place for recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. The icon on the product, in the manual, or on the packing points to this fact. The materials are recyclable according to their label- ling. Through reusing, material recycling, or other forms of utili- sation of old devices you make an important contribution to the protection of the environment. Please ask the local administra- tion for the responsible waste disposal centre.

We assume neither warranty nor liability for damages or following damages related to this product. This applies es- pecially if modifications or repairs have been made by the customer, if the circuitry has been modified or components have been used, other than the original components and/ or if the operation of the device has been incorrect, care- less or abusive.
