Frequently Asked Questions - 70027 Gardigo

How does the Gardigo 70027 solar repellent work?
The device emits vibrations at 400 Hz every 30 seconds into the ground. These vibrations disrupt the lifestyle of moles and voles, prompting them to leave the area.
Where to install the device?
Place it near a wall of the house, never in a molehill. Dig a hole if necessary, insert the device, and compact the soil around it for better vibration transmission.
How long does it take to see results?
A few days to a few weeks may be necessary. Animals react differently. If no improvement after 4 weeks, check the operation or turn off the device for 1-2 days to avoid habituation.
Can the repellent harm moles?
No, it does not harm the animals. It produces unpleasant vibrations that encourage them to move to a quieter place.
How to avoid mole habituation?
Use the On/Off switch: turn off the device for 1-2 days occasionally, or move it by 2 to 3 meters every 2-3 weeks toward the property boundary.
What to do if the device stops working?
First check that the switch is set to On and that the solar panel is receiving enough sunlight. If the sound is not audible, the battery may be discharged. Expose the device to sunlight for 2 days to recharge.
How to maintain the device?
Clean the solar panel and housing with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. Keep the grass around the panel short for good charging.
Can the device be used in winter or bad weather?
It is designed for sunny months. In the dark season, use a battery-powered repellent instead. Temperatures below 0°C can damage the battery.
How many devices are needed for a garden?
One device covers up to 700 m². For larger areas, multiple devices are recommended. Do not place them in every corner, but in a line from the house toward the property boundary.
Is the device safe for pets?
Yes, it is harmless to dogs, cats, and other animals. The underground vibrations only affect burrowing animals like moles and voles.

1. Designated use

The solar mole repellent is designed to repel moles and voles in advance and to keep them out of your garden permanently. Position the device in the ground, the slender design makes this easy. The device then sends tones into the soil. These disturb moles and voles in their daily habits. The tones are repeated approximately every 30 seconds at a frequency of 400 Hz.

2. Important notes

The Gardigo Solar Mole-Repeller will not prevent the habitation of an animal, but other places will appear more pleasant to a ground digger. The unit uses sonic waves in special frequencies which appear disturbing to moles and voles. How well these sound waves spread depends on the soil conditions. Once the animals notice that the annoying sound continues, the moles and voles will search for a quieter place. It may take several days or weeks until this happens.

Note: the response of each animal to our devices may vary. The development of our devices, methods and application tips are based on experience, testing and feedback from our customers. Therefore the devices are successful in most cases.

5. Putting into operation

Set the switch to "OFF". Expose the solar panel to the sun for approx. 2 days so that the battery can be fully charged before the device is being put into operation. Then set the switch to "ON" to check if the device is functioning. It should emit an audible tone. Set the unit into the ground until it sticks out minimally. If the soil is dense, you may have to dig a hole to be able to set it. After setting the device, make sure to press on the soil in order to make it as dense as it was before. The denser the soil, the better the tones will transmit.

Note: The grass around the solar panel should be kept as short as possible, as tall grass could decrease the load of the sun. If the unit is out of operation for a long time, please note to set the switch to „OFF“ so you can be sure that the batteries will not discharge completely.

Because of the Mole's Repellent transposition ... ... the Mole migrates from your garden! TODAY 2 WEEKS LATER Please don't insert the device directly into the mole hole and take it out of the ground or turn it off sometimes to prevent habituation effects.

6. Notes on operation

To successfully and permanently repel a mole or vole from your garden, there are a few instructions for use that have to be observed:

The mole should not be 'encircled' by the mole repellent. To avoid this, start from the house and move in the direction of the plot boundary to repel the mole. To do this, place one or preferably several mole repellents in the ground near to the house wall – and, most importantly, before the first molehill. Never bore through a molehill with the mole repellent.

Reposition the device as required, but in general every 2 - 3 weeks, nearer to the boundary of the plot of land (away from the house). The time should be set to coincide with the 'movement' of the molehills. If the molehills are still in the same position after 4 weeks, please check whether the device is actually operational (the transmitted tone can be heard). If

this is the case, switch off the device for 1 - 2 days and then turn it on again.

The differing lengths of time taken to repel an animal can have diverse reasons: e.g. the mole is more resistant or the soil contains more sand, turf or clay. The Gardigo mole repellent system has an integrated on/off switch – this is important to note when purchasing a solar operated mole repellent system. The device should be switched off at regular intervals in order to prevent habituation.

Shortly after setting up the device you might find more mole-hills than before in the garden, this should not discourage you, it is quite normal. The mole and its friends from the neighbouring gardens notice a change in their environment and want to find out where the change is coming from. In the long run, the sound will be too annoying and they will search for a quieter place.

To successfully use the device:

• Never insert into the molehill.
- When using several devices, never place at all corners of the plot of land or you will trap the animal in the centre.
- Act tactically: begin at the house and work your way towards the boundary of the plot.
- Dig a hole for the device in advance and pack the earth tightly around the pole.
- Take into account underground 'barriers' such as pipes, foundations, flowerbed borders, and concrete slabs: these slow down the sound waves.
