USER MANUAL SRGF 1400 A1 SILVERCREST
Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new device. You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and dispos- al. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of appli- cations specified. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner. Intended use This appliance is intended exclusively for grilling and heating food indoors. This appliance is intended solely for use in private households. Do not use it for commercial purposes. Package contents and transport inspection WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Risk of suffocation! ► Do not allow children to play with packaging materials.
1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the box.
2) Remove all packaging materials as well as any protective films and labels
from the appliance. NOTE ► Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage. If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact Customer Service. RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK! ► To avoid potential risks, if the appliance power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its cus- tomer service or by a qualified technician. ► Do not allow the power cable to come into contact with hot appliance parts. DANGER! RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK! ► Do not expose the appliance to rain, and never use it in ahumid or wet environment. Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or moist during operation. ► Check the device for visible external damage before use. Do not operate a device that has been damaged or dropped. ► The power cable must be checked for signs of damage at regular intervals. If the power cable is damaged, the appli- ance may no longer be used. ► The appliance must be connected to a mains socket with aprotective earth. ► The device must not come into contact with moisture such as rain or water. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liq- uid! There is a risk of fatal electric shock if residual liquids come into contact with live components during operation. WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8years or more and by persons with reduced physical, sen- sory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge only if they are being supervised or have been instructed with regard to the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks. ► Children must not play with the device. ► Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than 8 years of age and are supervised. ► Children younger than 8 years must be kept away from the appliance and the power cable. ► After use, allow the appliance to cool down completely be- fore cleaning it. 5 ■ WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► If possible, set up the appliance close to a power socket. Ensure that the power plug is quickly reachable in case of danger, and that the cable poses no risk of tripping. ► Provide a stable location for the appliance. Caution! Hot surface! ► The appliance and the accessories become very hot during operation. During operation, touch the appliance only on the temperature control and the handles. ► The fondue pot and its contents become very hot during operation. Do not touch or move the fondue pot or the appliance until it has cooled down sufficiently. ► The appliance is not suitable for heating up flammable or alcoholic liquids. Risk of fire! CAUTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE! ► Do not use an external timer switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance. ► Never leave the device unattended during operation. ► Ensure that the appliance, the power cable and the plug do not come into contact with heat sources such as hotplates or naked flames. ► Do not use charcoal or similar fuels to operate the appli- ance! ► Do not use metal utensils such as knives, forks, etc. when removing food from the griddle or pans as they may damage the non-stick coating. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance. ► Operate the appliance only with the original accessories supplied.SRGF 1400 A1■ 6
1) Clean all of the components as described in the section Cleaning and care
to remove any packaging residue. Make sure that all parts are completely dry before operating the appliance.
2) Set up the appliance as described in the section Setting up.
3) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
4) Turn the temperature control 5 to MAX. The operating light 4 lights up to
show that the appliance is heating up.
5) After 20 minutes, turn the temperature control 5 to 0.
6) Disconnect the plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
NOTE ► The first time the appliance heats up, a small amount of smoke and odour may result from production-related residues. This is normal and is complete- ly harmless. Ensure sufficient ventilation; for example, by opening a win- dow.
7) Clean the griddle 3 again as described in the section Cleaning and Care.
8) Ensure that all parts are completely dry before operating the device.
Setting up WARNING! RISK OF FIRE! ► Never place the device underneath wall cupboards or next to curtains, cupboard walls or other flammable objects. ► Always place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface.
1) Place the appliance on a clean and level heat-resistant surface. Ensure that
you do not place the appliance directly next to a wall or a cupboard. Each person should have unimpaired access to the pans 7 and the forks 9.
2) Place the griddle 3 on the appliance with the grooved grilling surface facing

4) If you want to use the fondue pot 2, proceed as described in the section
7 ■ Operation WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► The appliance and the accessories become very hot during operation. During operation, touch the appliance only on the temperature control 5 and the handles. Raclette ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE! ► Do not use metal utensils such as knives, forks, etc. when you remove food from the griddle 3 or the pans 7 as they could damage the non-stick coating. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance.
1) Lightly oil the griddle 3 and the pans 7 on the inside.
2) Turn the temperature control 5 to MAX. The operating light 4 lights up to
show that the appliance is heating up. Preheat the appliance for about 10 minutes. NOTE ► The operating light 4 remains switched on until the set temperature level is reached. It may switch on and off again and again, depending on the ambient temperature and the cooking situation. This is not a malfunction. It merely indicates that the appliance is heating up again to maintain the tempera- ture. When the appliance is set to MAX, the operating light 4 remains on constantly. ► Depending on the room temperature, heating up will start at different posi- tions on the temperature control 5.
3) Fill the pans 7 with the desired ingredients. Ensure that the pans 7 are not
overfilled otherwise the food could get too close to the heating elements and could even touch them!
4) Place the pans 7 into the device. The slight recess 6 in the appliance helps
to keep the pans in place.
5) Turn the temperature control 5 towards 0 if you want to reduce the tempera-
ture. Turn the temperature control 5 towards MAX if you want to increase the temperature again.
6) Remove the pans 7 from the device as soon as the contents are cooked.
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► Apart from the insulated handles, the pans 7 are very hot! Therefore, hold the pans 7 only by the handle!SRGF 1400 A1■ 8
You can now refill the pan 7 and push it back into the device. Do not push used, but empty pans 7 into the device. Any remaining food in the pans 7 could burn on. NOTE ► Because of the non-stick coating in the pans 7, it is not necessary to re- grease them before every use.
8) Once you have finished using the appliance, turn the temperature control 5
to 0 and remove the plug from the mains socket. Grill WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► Very moist or frozen food can splash strongly when placed on a hot griddle 3. Thaw frozen food before grilling and pat moist food dry. ► Always keep a safe distance from the hot griddle 3. ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE! ► Do not use metal utensils such as knives, forks, etc. when you remove food from the griddle 3 or the pans 7 as they could damage the non-stick coating. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance. You can grill meat, vegetables or small pieces of fruit on the griddle 3, either individually or at the same time as the raclette and fondue.
1) Lightly oil the griddle 3.
2) Preheat the appliance for about 10 minutes.
3) Place the food you want to grill onto the griddle 3 and turn it occasionally as
required. NOTE ► If you are not using the fondue pot 2, you can also use the round surface in the middle of the griddle 3 for grilling.
4) Remove the cooked food from the griddle 3 with a non-metallic object.
5) Once you are finished using the device, turn the temperature control 5 to 0
and remove the plug from the mains socket.SRGF 1400 A1 GB
9 ■ Fondue WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► The fondue pot 2 and its contents become very hot during operation. Do not touch or move the fondue pot 2 or the appliance until it has cooled down sufficiently. ► The hot contents of the fondue pot 2 can splash and/or froth up heavily when you put in moist or frozen food. Thaw frozen food beforehand and pat moist food dry. Always dip food slowly into the hot contents of the fondue pot 2. ► Always keep a safe distance from the hot grill plate 3. ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE! ► Do not heat the fondue pot 2 using other heat sources, such as a hotplate or microwave. ► Never place the fondue pot 2 on the hot griddle 3 without contents. Always add at least 500 ml of liquid into the fondue pot 2. ► The fondue pot 2 is not suitable for frying or steaming food. You can use the fondue separately or at the same time as the raclette or grill.
1) Always add at least 500 ml of liquid into the fondue pot 2, but do not ex-
ceed the MAX marking.
2) Place the splash guard 1 on the rim of the fondue pot 2 with the curved side
facing upwards and place it in the indentation provided in the centre of the griddle3.
3) Set the desired temperature using the temperature control 5:
– Low to medium temperature: For delicate dips and sauces (e.g. cheese or chocolate sauce) and for heating thick sauces (e.g. tomato sauce). – Medium to high temperature: For keeping liquid contents such as oil or broth warm or hot. – Maximum temperature: For heating low-viscosity contents such as oil or broth. Select a lower temperature as soon as the contents have heated up sufficiently. NOTE
To prevent burning or splashes, avoid using a very high temperature to heat cheese or chocolate sauce or similar thick sauces (such as tomato sauce). Stir the contents of the fondue pot 2 occasionally so that nothing sticks to the bottom of the pot. ► Use the maximum temperature setting only for heating low-viscosity con- tents such as oil or stock. Select a lower temperature setting to keep the contents warm or hot.SRGF 1400 A1■ 10
4) As soon as the contents of the fondue pot 2 have been heated up sufficient-
ly, you can spear the prepared food pieces using the forks 9 and dip them into the fondue pot 2. You can hang the forks 9 in the recesses provided in the splash guard 1. WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► Be aware that fat, sauce or similar products can drip from the forks 9 onto the hot griddle 3 and splatter vigorously. Therefore, always keep a safe distance from the hot griddle 3.
5) Once you are finished using the device, turn the temperature control 5 to 0
and remove the plug from the mains socket. Cleaning and care
DANGER! RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK
► Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the power plug from the mains power socket! There is a risk of electric shock! Never immerse the device in water or any other liquid! WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► Always allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it. Otherwise there is a risk of burns! ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE! ► Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning materials. They can irreparably damage the surfaces! NOTE ► It is best to clean the appliance as soon as it has cooled down. This makes food residues easier to remove. ■ Wipe the appliance housing and the heating elements with a moist cloth. If necessary, put a little mild detergent on the cloth and wipe the product off afterwards with a cloth dampened with water only. Dry everything properly. ■ Clean the griddle 3, the fondue pot 2, the splash guard 1, the pans 7, the spatula 8 and the forks 9 in warm washing-up water. Dry all parts thoroughly after cleaning. NOTE The griddle 3, the fondue pot 2, the forks 9 and the splash guard 1 can also be cleaned in the dishwasher. To prolong the life of the non-stick coating, we recommend washing the fondue pot 2 and griddle 3 by hand as described above.SRGF 1400 A1 GB
11 ■ Storage ■ After it has cooled down, store the cleaned appliance in a dust-free and dry location. Troubleshooting Fault Cause The solution The appliance is not working. The plug is not connected to the mains power. Insert the plug into a mains power socket. The mains power socket is defective. Use a different mains power socket. The appliance is defective. Contact Customer Services. If the malfunction cannot be corrected using one of the suggestions above, or if you have found some other kind of malfunction, please contact our Customer Service department. Disposal Never dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EU. Dispose of the device via an approved disposal company or your municipal waste facility. Please comply with all applicable regulations. Please contact your waste disposal centre if you are in any doubt. Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product. The product is recyclable, subject to extended producer responsibility and is collected separately. The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials which you can dis- pose of at your local recycling centre. Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material com- ponents for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbre- viations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1–7: Plastics, 20–22: Paper and cardboard, 80–98: Composites.SRGF 1400 A1■ 12
Kompernass Handels GmbH warranty Dear Customer, This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below. Warranty conditions The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase. If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred. If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the be- ginning of a new warranty period. Warranty period and statutory claims for defects The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and de- fects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpack- ing. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee. Scope of the warranty This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guide- lines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery. The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass. The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided. This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes.
