Frequently Asked Questions - TT355 THOMSON

How to install the drive belt if it came loose during transport?
Remove the rubber mat and the E-clip from the spindle, then release the platter. Place the belt on the inner rim of the platter and feed it through the hole. Hold the belt with your fingers and place it on the motor pulley. Put back the E-clip and the mat. Make sure the belt is not twisted or deformed.
How to connect the turntable to an amplifier or active speakers?
Use the provided dual male RCA cable to connect the RCA output on the back of the turntable to the input of your amplifier or speakers. If your external device has a 3.5 mm jack input, use the included dual female RCA to stereo 3.5 mm jack adapter. Be sure to select the PHONO or LINE output according to your equipment.
What to do if the sound is too low or absent?
Check that the PHONO/LINE selector is correctly positioned: on LINE if connecting directly to active speakers, on PHONO if using an external preamplifier. Also make sure the cables are properly connected and the volume on your amplifier is sufficient.
How to adjust the auto start position for 7-inch 45 rpm records?
Turn the vinyl record selector to 45. If the start position deviates inward, use a slotted screwdriver to turn clockwise at position 2. If it deviates outward, turn counterclockwise. Adjust according to your record size.
How to clean the turntable?
Always unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. Never use abrasive products or harsh cleaners. Do not lubricate any parts.
Can I move the tonearm manually?
Preferably use the auto start button to start playback. Once playback has started, you can lift and move the tonearm by hand, but always use the stop control to stop playback. Do not move the tonearm before auto start.
What to do if the record does not spin?
Check that the device is turned on with the On/Off switch. Make sure the drive belt is correctly installed and not loose. Also check that the power adapter is plugged in and the mains outlet works.
How to use the 45 rpm adapter?
The 45 rpm adapter is located in the holder at the top left of the platter. To play a 45 rpm record, place the adapter on the center of the platter before putting the record on. The speed selector must be set to 45.
What type of stylus is used and where to find a replacement?
The stylus is an Audio Technica AT3600L, MM type. You can purchase a replacement stylus from the manufacturer or specialized retailers. For any questions, contact Bigben Interactive support.

  • Remove the needle protector.
  • Open the base of the tone arm to release the arm. Press the Play button (9) on the front panel. The record player moves directly into the desired position over the disc and starts playing the music, starting with the first track. Manually position the tone arm in the desired position over your disc and press the tone arm lever (11) again. The tone arm will slowly move down and start to play the music again.
