  19. Do not place the product on hotplates (gas, electric, coal stoves, etc.). Keep the product away from all open flames. Operate the product on an even, stable, clean, fireproof and dry surface.
  20. Fire hazard! Bread and other foodstuffs can burn! Do not use bread with a high sugar content since this may cause fire. Never leave the product unattended.
  21. Risk of burning! Do not touch the product's hot surfaces. Touch the product only by its handle or temperature dial.
  22. Always use the grease drip tray(s).
  23. The grill plates and other product parts become very hot. Let the product cool down well before cleaning or storing.

BEFORE FIRST TIME USE

During manufacturing, parts of the product are coated with a thin oil film for their protection. To remove production residue, run the product for approx. 10 minutes without foodstuffs. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation as a slight odor and some smoke may occur. This is harmless and will disappear shortly.

OPERATION

1 Place this product on a flat, heat resistant, even and non-slip surface.

2 Put the grease drip tray in the intended position of the contact grill.

3 Slide the Lock/Release button to ? to release the upper grill plate. Open the upper casing by pushing the handle all the way up

4 Apply a little cooking oil to the upper and lower heating plates and close the upper casing.

5 Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet. The product turns itself on and the red indicator lamp lights up.

6 Set the temperature control dial to the desired level. The grill plates start to heat up. Once the desired temperature is reached, the green indicator lamp lights up.

Note: The cooking results will be better if the product is preheated first.

Caution

Never touch the hot surfaces of the product during operation or directly after use. Thus to open the product, only touch the handle.

7 Open the upper casing by pushing the handle all the way up.

8 Lay the grill items onto the lower heating surface without adding extra fat or oil.

Note: The grill items are cooked in their own juices and excessive liquids flow into the grease drip tray.

Suitable foods for grilling are steaks, sausages, vegetables and sandwiches such as toast or baguette (French bread).

9 Close the upper casing and set the desired temperature using the control dial.

GRILLING TIME

In the table at the end of this manual you can find some types of food you can cook on this contact grill. It shows which temperature to select and how long the food has to be grilled. The required heating up time has not been included in the table. The grilling time and temperature depend on the type of food that you prepare (e.g. meat), its thickness and its temperature and also on your own taste.

Note:

The grill items do not need to be turned over as they are cooked with both the upper and lower grill plates.

10 In order to remove grilled food, carefully open the upper casing by pushing the handle all the way up. Only use utensils made of heat-resistant plastic or wood to remove the grilled food from the heating plate.

Caution

Depending on the type and quality of the food, it could become very hot during grilling. Foods with a high water content, such as tomatoes, will especially become very hot. So be extremely careful when grilling and especially when removing these types of foods.

11 After using the product, turn the control dial to MIN.
12 Unplug the power plug from the power outlet and let the product cool down.

CLEANING AND CARE

  • Warning! Unplug the product and let it cool down completely before cleaning.
  • Never immerse electrical parts of the product in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the product under running water.
  • Warning! When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and tools may scratch the surface(s).

13 Remove the grease drip tray carefully from the product and rinse it with hot water and a neutral dishwashing detergent. The oil inside the tray can be very hot, let it cool down completely before cleaning.
14 Remove grease or food residues on the grill plates with a spatula. Clean the grill plate afterwards with a damp cloth with little amount of detergent.

Note: If there are difficult to remove food residues, place a damp cloth with a little bit detergent over the plates. Remove the residues after a while of exposure time.

15 Clean the product's exterior surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and then dry them thoroughly. Make sure that no water enters the product interior (for example, through the switch).
16 Close and lock the upper plate. Roll the power cord on the cord storage.

We provide a warranty for this device in according to the following conditions:

  1. In accordance with the conditions below (points 2-7) we will remove defects of the device free of charge, it they are evidently due to material and/or production errors, and if they are reported to us immediately after detection and within 24 months of delivery to the first end user.
  2. The warranty does not cover easily breakable parts such as glass, plastic or light bulbs. A warranty obligation is not triggered by minor deviations from the target conditions, which are not significant to the value and usability of the device, by damages due to chemical and electro-chemical effects of water, in general by abnormal environmental conditions or improper operating conditions, or if the device otherwise comes into contact with unsuitable substances. A warranty can also not be assumed if the defects on the device are due to transport damage which is not caused by us, improper installation and assembly, incorrect operation, non-household usage, a lack of maintenance or the non-observance of the operating or assembly instructions. Warranty claims are void if repairs or interventions are carried out by people who are not authorised by us to do so, or if our devices have been equipped with spare parts, supplements or accessories, which are not original parts and therefore cause a defect.
  3. The warranty service is performed by either repairing the defect parts or replacing them with non-defect parts, at our discretion. Devices which can be transported (e.g. in a car) and on which a warranty service is claimed within the scope of this warranty, are to be handed over or sent to our closest customer service office or our contracted customer service office. Repairs at the place of installation can only be requested for devices which are operated on site (stationary devices). The respective sales receipt stating the purchase and/or delivery date is to be submitted. Replaced parts become our property.
  4. If the rectification of the defect device is rejected by us or fails, we will provide a replacement of equal value and at no charge within the above-mentioned warranty period, at the request of the end user.
  5. Warranty services neither invoke an extension of the warranty period, nor start a new warranty period. The warranty period for built-in replacement parts ends with the warranty period for the whole device.
  6. Smart Devices: If your device is able to connect to the internet (so called smart device) security updates are not part of the scope of this warranty. For a certain period of time security updates for your smart device will be done automatically. If this period ends you will be informed by a general note. Afterwards security updates can be performed manually.
  7. This warranty extends to every country where this device is supplied by an authorised distributor.
  8. Any other or further claims, in particular those regarding compensation for damage caused outside of the device are ruled out -provided liability is not obligatory by law.

  9. We are furthermore liable without restrictions in accordance to legal requirements for damage covered by the liability scope of the Product Liability Act, as well as for damage caused by intentional and gross negligent contract violations plus fraudulent intent by us, our legal representatives or vicarious agents.

  10. This warranty bond does not affect your legal warranty claims.
