Caution! Hot surface! Risk of burning! Do not touch the product's hot surfaces. Heat rises from the product during use.
- Do not operate the product by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
- This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have received instructions concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the product.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be carried out by children unless they are old than 8 and supervised.
- Keep this product and its power cord out of reach of children under the age of 8 years.
- A damaged power cord may only be replaced by the authorised service agent in order to avoid hazards.
- The product is designed for the preparation of normal household quantities in the home, or in household-like, non-commercial environments. Household-like environments include staff kitchens in shops, offices, agricultural and other small businesses or for use by guests at bed-and-breakfast establishments, small hotels and similar residential facilities.

The power plug is used as the disconnect device. Please be sure that the power plug is in operable condition.

Only unplugging from the power socket can separate the product completely from the mains.

Avoid damages to the power cord that may be caused by kinks or contact with sharp corners.

Keep this product including power cord and power plug away from all heat sources such as ovens, hot plates and other heat-producing devices/objects.

If the power cord or the casing of the product are damaged or if the product has been dropped, the product may not be used before it is examined by an authorised service agent.

- Protect this product from extreme heat and cold as well as from direct sunlight and dust.
- In order to reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not expose the product to fire (fireplace, grill, candles, cigarettes and so on) or water (water drops, water splashes, vases, tubs and so on).
- Warning! Do not use this product near water or heavy moisture; e.g. in a damp basement or beside a swimming pool or bathtub.
- Use this product in temperate latitudes only. Avoid tropical and especially humid climatic regions.
- Protect this product from all moisture including spray water and humidity.
- The product may not come into contact with or be covered by highly flammable materials, such as curtains, textiles, wall-paper, etc. Please make sure that sufficient safety clearance is kept to flammable materials.

Do not insert any objects into the product.

This product is not suitable for commercial use. It is designed for household use only.
- Use heat-proof or wooden spatulas with the product to prevent damage to the grill plates' nonstick coating. Make sure that the spatulas used do not have any pointy or sharp edges.
- Do not place the product on hotplates (gas, electric, coal stoves, etc.). Keep the product away from all open flames. Operate the product on an even, stable, clean, fireproof and dry surface.
- Fire hazard! Bread and other foodstuffs can burn! Never leave the product unattended while it is switched on.
- Risk of burning! Do not touch the product's hot surfaces. Touch the product only by its handle or temperature dial.
- Always use the grease drip tray.
- The grill plates and other product parts become very hot. Let the product cool down well before cleaning or storing.
INTENDED USE
This product is suitable for preparing foods only. Any other use may result in damage to product or injuries.

BEFORE FIRST TIME USE
Carefully take the product and its accessories out of the original packaging. Retain the original packaging in case you would like to store the product away or transport it at a later date. If you choose to dispose of the original packaging, then please do so according to the applicable legal regulations.
Check the packaging contents for completeness and damages. Should the contents in the packaging not be complete or be damaged, do not use the product. Return it to your retail outlet immediately.
After unpacking, please refer to chapter Cleaning and care.
During manufacturing, parts of the product are coated with a thin oil film for their protection. To remove production residue, run the product for approx. 10 minutes without foodstuffs. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation as a slight odor and some smoke may occur. This is harmless and will disappear shortly.
OPERATION

Caution
The upper casing will become very hot during operation. The surface, on which the contact grill is placed, must be level and slip-resistant.
1 Place this product on a flat, heat resistant, even and non-slip surface.
2 Make sure the grease drip tray is inserted correctly at its intended position.
3 If the grill is locked 📁 slide the hinge lock to the position 📄 Open the upper casing by pushing the handle all the way up.
Note:
Remember that cooking results will be better if the product is preheated first.

Caution
The upper casing and the heating plates of the product will become very hot during operation.
4 Closed grilling
This position is ideal for fast, double-sided grilling at high temperatures, for example, of rump steaks and hamburgers, as well as for the preparation of sandwiches and paninis.

Caution
Hot steam could be emitted when opening and closing the cover. Thus always open the grill carefully.
- Apply a little cooking oil to the upper and lower heating plates and close the upper casing.
- Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet. The product turns itself on and the red POWER indicator lamp lights up.
- Set the temperature control slider to the desired level. The grill plates start to heat up. Once the desired temperature is reached, the green indicator lamp READY turns on.
- Open the upper casing by pushing the handle all the way up.
- Lay the grill items onto the lower heating surface without adding extra fat or oil.
- Close the upper casing. Set the desired temperature using the temperature control slide.
Note:
- During the grilling process, the heating-up indicator lamps turn on and off from time to time. This indicates that the heating element is switched on and off to maintain the set temperature.

Monitor the cooking process now and then. The cooking time depends on the type of food and on your personal taste. The grill items do not need to be turned over as they are cooked with both the upper and lower grill plates. Before eating, make sure, that the food is fully cooked.

The grill items are cooked in their own juices and excessive liquids flow into the grease drip tray.
Note:
Oil/fat remains collected in the supplied drip tray must not be re-used.
- In order to remove grilled food, carefully open the upper casing by pushing the handle all the way up.
Only use utensils made of heat-resistant plastic or wood to remove the grilled food from the grill plate.
Note:
Never touch the grill plates with sharp or abrasive items, as this would damage the grill plates surface.

Caution
Depending on the type and quality of the food, it could become very hot during grilling. Foods with a high water content, such as tomatoes, will especially become very hot. Be extremely careful when grilling and especially when removing these types of foods.

AFTER GRILLING
5 After using the product, slide the temperature control all the way to the left to the position MIN. Unplug the power plug from the power outlet and let the product cool down. Clean the product when it has cooled down.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Warning! Unplug the product and let it cool down completely before cleaning.
- Never immerse electrical parts of the product in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the product under running water.
- Warning! When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and tools may scratch the surface(s).
6 Remove the grease drip tray carefully from the product and rinse it with hot water and a neutral dishwashing detergent. The oil inside the tray can be very hot, let it cool down completely before cleaning.
7 Remove grease or food residues on the grill plates with a spatula. Clean the grill plate afterwards with a damp cloth with a little amount of detergent.
Note: If there are difficult to remove food residues, place a damp cloth with a little bit of detergent over the plates. Remove the residues after a while of exposure time.
8 Use a damp cloth or a soft sponge and warm water with a little dishwashing detergent to clean the product's housing.
After each cleaning, dry all surfaces thoroughly before further use of the product.

Do not dispose of this product as unsorted municipal waste. Return it to a designated collection point for the recycling of WEEE. By doing so, you will help to conserve resources and protect the environment. Contact your retailer or local authorities for more information.

Attention
We provide a warranty for this device in according to the following conditions:
- In accordance with the conditions below (points 2-7) we will remove defects of the device free of charge, it they are evidently due to material and/or production errors, and if they are reported to us immediately after detection and within 24 months of delivery to the first end user.
- The warranty does not cover easily breakable parts such as glass, plastic or light bulbs. A warranty obligation is not triggered by minor deviations from the target conditions, which are not significant to the value and usability of the device, by damages due to chemical and electro-chemical effects of water, in general by abnormal environmental conditions or improper operating conditions, or if the device otherwise comes into contact with unsuitable substances. A warranty can also not be assumed if the defects on the device are due to transport damage which is not caused by us, improper installation and assembly, incorrect operation, non-household usage, a lack of maintenance or the non-observance of the operating or assembly instructions. Warranty claims are void if repairs or interventions are carried out by people who are not authorised by us to do so, or if our devices have been equipped with spare parts, supplements or accessories, which are not original parts and therefore cause a defect.
- The warranty service is performed by either repairing the defect parts or replacing them with non-defect parts, at our discretion. Devices which can be transported (e.g. in a car) and on which a warranty service is claimed within the scope of this warranty, are to be handed over or sent to our closest customer service office or our contracted customer service office. Repairs at the place of installation can only be requested for devices which are operated on site (stationary devices). The respective sales receipt stating the purchase and/or delivery date is to be submitted. Replaced parts become our property.
- If the rectification of the defect device is rejected by us or fails, we will provide a replacement of equal value and at no charge within the above-mentioned warranty period, at the request of the end user.
- Warranty services neither invoke an extension of the warranty period, nor start a new warranty period. The warranty period for built-in replacement parts ends with the warranty period for the whole device.
- Smart Devices: If your device is able to connect to the internet (so called smart device) security updates are not part of the scope of this warranty. For a certain period of time security updates for your smart device will be done automatically. If this period ends you will be informed by a general note. Afterwards security updates can be performed manually.
- This warranty extends to every country where this device is supplied by an authorised distributor.

Any other or further claims, in particular those regarding compensation for damage caused outside of the device are ruled out -provided liability is not obligatory by law.

We are furthermore liable without restrictions in accordance to legal requirements for damage covered by the liability scope of the Product Liability Act, as well as for damage caused by intentional and gross negligent contract violations plus fraudulent intent by us, our legal representatives or vicarious agents.

This warranty bond does not affect your legal warranty claims.
