  • Remove any possible fi lms, stickers or transport protection from the device. Never remove the rating plate and any possible warnings!
  • The device should be used for the fi rst time without any food in it as it may produce some smoke or odours due to coating residues. Allow the device to heat up on the highest temperature setting for approx. 15 minutes without any food in it (see the “Setting Up and Connecting Device” and “Use” chapters).
  • Rinse all accessory parts thoroughly. Follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter to do this. Setting Up and Connecting the Device PLEASE NOTE! ■ Only connect the device to a plug socket that is properly installed. The plug socket must be readily accessible so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match the technical data of the device. ■ Make sure that the connecting cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces (e. g. of the device).

1. Place the device on the kitchen unit or another dry, clean, fl at and heat-resistant work

surface. Ensure there is suffi cient clear space on all sides (at least 20 cm to the sides and 30 cm above).

2. Completely unwind the mains cable and plug the mains plug into a plug socket. The

operating lamp (8) lights up to indicate that the device is ready for operation. Tips

  • Generally it is not necessary to preheat the device. However, to be better able to determine when the food is cooked and when preparing food which has to be ready “on the dot”, preheating is recommended.
  • Generally no oil or only a small amount of oil is required for preparing food. You can add oil to your food to enhance the taste by spraying your food with a little oil from the oil atomiser.
  • Cooking times are dependent on the size and quantity of the food and on the cooking temperature. However, in general the cooking times are shorter than in a convention- al oven. Start with shorter cooking times and then adapt the cooking times to your personal taste.
  • For the preparation of frozen products, follow the time and temperature specifi cations of the manufacturer. To get a crispy result, never add fat when preparing mass-pro- duced frozen products as they have generally already been pre-fried. The prepara- tion time may be reduced slightly. Check whether your food is already fully cooked before the stated cooking time has expired.
  • With some food (e. g. chips and similar items) it is advisable to mix the food around from time to time to obtain an even cooking result.EN 24 Use PLEASE NOTE! ■ Do not place food that is still packed in plastic wrap or plastic bags in the device. ■ Make sure that the drawer has been inserted correctly. The device cannot be switched on if the drawer is not inserted. ■ Do not leave the device unattended during use! ■ The device must not be moved during operation. ■ Make sure that the food does not come into contact with the heating element of the device. ■ Do not overfi ll the drawer so that the hot air can circulate optimally inside the device. It should be no more than 2/3 full. ■ The drawer is hot after being removed from the device! Only ever place it on a heat-resistant surface! ■ Do not use the device if it has malfunctioned, fallen or been dropped in water. Have it checked in a specialist workshop before using it again. This device works with hot air. It is not a conventional fryer in which food is deep-fried using lots of oil! In general, you can prepare all dishes that can also be prepared in a conventional fan oven. For good results, please read the “Tips” chapter.

1. Insert the rack (4) into the drawer (6).

2. Place the food that is to be prepared into the drawer.

3. Insert the drawer into the device.

4. Use the temperature control dial (9) to set a cooking temperature between 80 °C and

5. Use the timer (7) to set a preparation time (1 – 30 minutes) in order to start the cook-

ing process. The temperature control lamp (2) also lights up as soon as the device starts heating up. Please note: If the temperature control lamp goes out and lights up again, this means that the device is interrupting the heating process. This maintains a constant temperature.

6. When the set timer time has elapsed, a beep is heard and the supply of heat is

automatically stopped. The timer can also be set to the 0 position manually to stop the cooking process at any time in order, for example, to mix food around or check whether the food is already fully cooked.

7. Pull the drawer out of the device by the handle (5) and place the drawer down on a

heat-resistant, non-slip surface. Beware of burns! The drawer and the food which is prepared are hot! Use kitchen gloves.

9. Allow the device to cool down and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket.

10. Clean the device after each use (see “Cleaning and Storage”). Do not allow any food

residues to dry on the device.25 EN Cleaning and Storage PLEASE NOTE! ■ Do not spray cleaning agents directly onto the device. ■ Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges to clean the device. These may damage the surface. Clean the device and the used accessories immediately after each use to prevent germ formation. Do not allow any food residues to dry on the device.

1. Pull the drawer (6) out of the device.

2. If you have not already done so, empty the drawer.

3. Remove the rack (4) from the drawer.

4. Clean the drawer and the rack with warm water and mild detergent. In the case of

stubborn dirt, we recommend soaking the drawer and the rack in warm water and detergent beforehand.

5. Clean the housing, the inside of the drawer compartment (3) and the heating ele-

ments if necessary with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

6. Allow all parts to dry completely before the device is stored away in a dry, clean place

that is out of the reach of children and animals. Troubleshooting If the device does not work properly, fi rst check whether you are able to rectify the prob- lem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps listed, contact the customer service department. Do not attempt to repair an electrical device yourself! Problem Possible cause Fix The device does not work. The mains plug is not in- serted correctly in the plug socket. Correct the fi t of the mains plug. The plug socket is defective. Try another plug socket. There is no mains voltage. Check the fuse of the electri- cal distributor (fuse box). The timer (7) is not set (posi- tion 0). Set the timer (7). The fuse in the elec- trical distributor (fuse box) is triggered. Too many devices connected to the same circuit. Reduce the number of devic- es in the circuit. The drawer (6) can- not be inserted into the device. The drawer (6) is overfi lled. It should be no more than 2/3 full with food.EN 26 Problem Possible cause Fix The food has not been evenly cooked or is not fully cooked. Diff erent items of food with diff erent cooking times have been prepared at the same time. Place food with a longer cooking time in the device fi rst, then add ingredients with a shorter cooking time later. Items of food which require diff erent cooking tempera- tures have been prepared at the same time. Prepare items of food with diff erent cooking tempera- tures one after the other. The items of food are piled on top of one another. With some food, it is advisable to mix the food around from time to time. The food was not cut up into pieces of equal size. Make sure that all of the pieces of food which you cut up small are of roughly the same size. During use, an unpleasant smell is detected. The device is being used for the fi rst time. A smell often develops when new devices are fi rst used. The smell should disappear once the device has been used several times. The device is dirty. Follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter. As ingredients diff er due to their origin, size, shape and brand, we cannot guarantee the op- timum setting for the ingredients. The actual cooking times may therefore vary depending on the portion size. Make sure prior to serving that the food is fully cooked through! Homemade Chips Ingredients: potatoes (waxy) a little oil (if necessary) To taste salt Preparation:

1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into sticks of equal size.

2. Thoroughly wash the potatoes and then dry them off .

3. Add 1 – 2 tbsp. of oil to the potatoes and mix in.

It is not essential to add oil. However, adding oil will make the chips crispier and give them a more intense fl avour.

4. Set the cooking temperature to approx. 180 °C.

5. Set the timer to 10 minutes.

6. Mix around the chips.

7. Set the timer to 15 minutes again.

The chips are cooked when they are golden brown. Tips:

  • Mix your favourite herbs and spices into the oil before adding it. This will allow you for example to prepare tasty curry or paprika-fl avoured chips. There are no limits to your imagination.
  • Depending on how thick you cut your potatoes, you can vary between potato wedges and thick or thin chips. The thicker the potatoes are cut, the longer the cooking time.
  • Use waxy potatoes. Young potatoes contain more water and therefore take longer to cook and it is possible that they may not go as crispy.
  • Wash the chopped-up potatoes with cold, clear water to remove any excess starch in the potatoes. IMPORTANT: Then thoroughly dry the potatoes. The less moisture is present, the crispier the chips will become.
  • Preboiled potatoes will cook more evenly! Cut the potatoes into small sticks and preboil them for around fi ve minutes. This will prevent the chips from being crispy on the outside but not fully cooked on the inside.EN 28 Coconut Prawns Ingredients: 12 prawns (peeled and cleaned) For the breadcrumb coating: approx. ½ cup fl our approx. ½ cup coconut fl akes approx. ½ cup breadcrumbs 1 – 2 egg whites Preparation:
