How to light the LotusGrill G280 barbecue?

Place a ring of fire starter gel (LotusGrill recommended) in the center of the ignition plate. Light the gel with a lit match while leaving the fan on (switch on and thermostat at maximum). After a few minutes, the charcoal becomes glowing.

Can I use the barbecue indoors?

No, the barbecue must not be used indoors due to the risk of asphyxiation. Always use it outdoors on a stable surface.

How to clean the grid after cooking?

Wait until the barbecue has completely cooled down. The grid and inner bowl can be cleaned in the dishwasher or by hand with dish soap. For stubborn residues, use a special barbecue cleaner.

What type of charcoal is recommended?

We recommend LotusGrill beech charcoal or any other quality wood charcoal. Fill the charcoal reservoir completely before ignition.

Can the barbecue work without batteries?

Yes, you can use the supplied USB cable with a USB power adapter (not included). Plug the round connector into the barbecue to disable the battery compartment.

How to adjust the cooking temperature?

Turn the thermostat knob located on the outer bowl. The more you turn to the right, the higher the temperature. The fan remains on throughout cooking.

What to do if the charcoal does not light?

Check that batteries are properly installed (observe polarity) or that the USB cable is connected. Make sure the fan is working: the switch must be on. If the gel does not ignite, use a fire starter compliant with standard EN 1860-3.

How to safely extinguish the barbecue?

Never pour water on the charcoal. Let the barbecue cool completely in the open air. The fan stops automatically when you turn off the switch. Dispose of ashes in a metal container.

What are the important safety instructions?

Always wear protective gloves. Keep children and pets at a distance. Do not use alcohol or gasoline for lighting. Never leave the hot barbecue unattended. Ensure it is placed on a stable surface.

How to replace the batteries?

Wait until the barbecue is completely cold. Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the outer bowl and replace the 4 AA batteries, observing polarity. Close the lid. Do not replace batteries while operating.

IMPORTANT

- The bbq must be placed on a stable support before use. - Use barbecue tongs. We recommend LotusGrill Accessories. - Never leave the hot grill unattended. - When grilling very fatty foods, ensure that the inner bowl is emptied on a regular basis. - Test the batteries each time before firing the grill. - Do not replace exhausted batteries while using the grill.

Secure handling and disposal of used batteries

Please note: Only use commercially approved AA-batteries.

Remember to dispose batteries properly according to local regulation, i.e. at a battery collection point.

Batteries may not be disposed with domestic waste.

Proper disposal of charcoal

Dispose charcoal in proper non-combustible or metal containers only. Do not dispose in plastic or inflammable containers.

Environmentally friendly disposal of electrical equipment

Please dispose your old grill at proper collection points, which the manufacturer can point out to you at request. Do not dispose your old device with domestic waste.

Intended Use

The LotusGrill may be used to grill meals using charcoal. Do not use this grill in unventilated spaces.

All guidelines provided in this manual must be observed.

The LotusGrill grill is intended for private use only!

Assembly: General Information

Read the assembly instructions carefully and follow the safety information. Be sure to have enough time at your disposal. Create ample space. Remove grill from packaging!

Assembly: Preparation

Check list of components and chart to make sure all items are included in delivery:

- Remove the pre-assembled grill grid and charcoal container.

- Take off packaging.

First Use

The Charcoal Container may contain a thin oil film on the metal, due to its production process. This oil can cause smoke only in the first use.

Maintenance and Storage

IMPORTANT

The grill must cool off completely before cleaning.

CAUTION

Do not use water to cool off the hot grill. Burns and scalding might occur.

Clean grill grid, inner bowl and other dirty parts after each use. The grill must cool off entirely before cleaning, otherwise burning injuries might occur.

Grill grid and inner bowl are dishwasher safe or can be cleaned with standard washing-up liquid.

We recommend for cleaning of tenacious residues commercially available barbecue cleaners e.g. the LotusGrill Cleaner for BBQ- and Oven.

Clean outer bowl (containing electronic unit) only with wet cloth or brush.

Do not use acidic, solvent or other flammable liquids.

Remove batteries during a longer period of storage.

The charcoal container may be cleaned only dry, e. g. with a brush.

Never use water to clean the charcoal container!

Warranty

The LotusGrill has a 2-years-warranty from date of purchase against manufacturing defects, given that it was used according to instructions of use. For proof of warranty, please retain your sales receipt with indicated date of purchase.

Abrasion, rust, deformation or staining of parts exposed directly to flame (especially stainless steel parts) are normal wear after use and are under no circumstance considered to be manufacturing defects. The charcoal container is a wearing part and should be changed from time to time.

Assembly and Operation Instructions Assembly

1. Open the battery case ^(10) at the bottom of the outer bowl ^(6) . Insert four AA batteries ^(9) . Mind polarity. Close the battery case.
2. Place the inner bowl ^(5) into the outer bowl ^(6) .
3. Fill the charcoal container ^(3) completely with charcoal e. g. LotusGrill Beech Charcoal* Put cover on charcoal container ^(2) .
4. Apply a circular layer of lighter gel on ignition plate ^(4) , approx 10 mm (0.4 inches) wide. Place ignition plate ^(4) into inner bowl ^(5) . We recommend the LotusGrill Safety Fuel Gel.
5. Turn the round ventilation control button ^(8) on outer bowl ^(6) on. Turn it clockwise to maximum position.

1. Light gel until it burns.

2. Put the cover ^(2) on the filled charcoal container ^(3) and place container on ignition plate ^(4) . Within a short period of time, the charcoal will be glowing.

CAUTION The charcoal container carefully and evenly on the ignition plate!

1. Put the grill grid ^(1) on top of the inner bowl ^(5) . Make sure to insert the four metal legs into the slots of the inner bowl ^(5) . Both metal loops at the side of the grill grid ^(1) have to be aligned with the latches ^(7) .
2. Hook the latches into the metal loops, and pull down to lock the device. The grill is now a connected and compact unit.
3. After approx. 3-4 minutes, LotusGrill is ready for use. Use the On/Off Switch for heat regulation (8) to regulate heat. The fan stays on during the entire barbecue session.

Using the USB power cord

The LotusGrill can be operated either with batteries or using the USB power cord supplied and a USB power pack (not included in the scope of supply). The battery compartment is disconnected when the round connector is plugged into the grill.

IMPORTANT

The USB power cable can not be used to charge rechargeable batteries.
