General Notes
Before using this appliance, carefully read this user manual and keep it together with the Warranty Certificate, cashier receipt and if possible, the original package inclusive its interior packing. If you hand on the appliance to any third person, include the user manual as well.
- Use the appliance for private and its intended purpose only. The appliance is not intended for commercial use.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors. Protect it from heat, direct sunlight, humidity (do not immerse into liquids under any circumstances) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance gets wet, unplug it immediately.
- Always switch off and unplug the appliance (pull the plug, not the cable) when you do not use the appliance, or when you attach accessories, during cleaning or malfunctioning.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation. Always switch off the appliance when leaving the room. Unplug the appliance.
- Regularly check the appliance and cable for signs of damage. Do not continue to operate the appliance in case of damage.
- Do only use original parts.
- For the safety of your children, keep any packing parts (plastic bags, cartilage, Styrofoam etc.) out of their reach.

Special Safety Precautions for this Appliance

WARNING: Hot surface!
Danger of burns!
- During operation the temperature of accessible surfaces can be very high.
- Only take hold of the appliance at the thermostat and wooden frame.
WARNING: Fire hazard!
- Keep sufficient safe distance (30 cm) to inflammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc.
- Oil and fat can burn when overheated.

CAUTION:
- Only the supplied thermostat may be used. No other regulator should be used under any circumstances!
- Always set the temperature control (7) to "OFF" (off), before attaching or removing the thermostat.
The appliance may otherwise become damaged.
- Ensure that the thermostat is correctly plugged into the appliance.
The temperature control (7) must face up.
- When removing the thermostat, pull on the plug, not on the cable!
- Do not apply excessive force when plugging in or removing the thermostat.

Please ensure that the mains lead (9) does not come into contact with the hot sections of the appliance.

Do not operate the appliance with an external timer or separate remote control system.
- Never pour water into hot fat.
- Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.
- Keep the temperature sensor (8) and the plug pins clean.
- This appliance and the mains lead (9) are not intended for immersion in water during cleaning. Refer to the instruction provided in chapter "Cleaning".
- Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Please contact authorized personnel. If the mains lead (9) of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by a special connection cable available from the manufacturer or its customer service.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older 8 years and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

Electrical Connection
Power Requirements
The appliance can consume a total of 2200 W. With this connected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended.
CAUTION: Overload!
- If you use extension leads, these should have a cable cross-section of at least 1.5mm^2
- Do not use any multiple sockets, as this appliance is too powerful.
Connection
Make sure that the appliance is switched off. The temperature control (7) must be set to "OFF".
- Make sure that the device voltage (see "name plate") and the line voltage match.
- The mains plug (10) should only be inserted into a correctly installed socket with earthing contact.
Before initial use
- Take the appliance out of its packaging.
- Remove all packaging materials, such as foils, filling materials, cable ties and cartons.
- Check that all accessories are included in the box.
- Operate the appliance on the highest setting for 10 minutes.
- Turn the appliance off and disconnect the power plug.
NOTE:
- This process normally produces a little smoke and some smells. Provide sufficient ventilation.
- Clean manufacturing residues and dust from the device as described under "Cleaning".
Operation
- Place the appliance on a level, water and heat-resistant surface. The surface should be easy to clean as spattering is unavoidable. If resting on a sensitive surface, place a heat-resistant plate beneath it.
- Place the griddle (4) on the bamboo frame (1) by sticking the power socket through its gap. Place its feet in the respective holes of the frame. Check if the griddle (4) stands on the frame solidly.
- Place the fat collecting tray (3) below the grease trough (2).
- Please ensure that the temperature control (7) is turned to "OFF" (off) and insert it into the socket of the thermostat (5).
CAUTION: Overload!
If the thermostat is not inserted correctly, this may lead to abnormal heating, of which the consequence may be damage or accidents.
You should therefore ensure that the thermostat is inserted correctly.

- Connect the appliance to a properly installed power socket. Make sure it matches the voltage of the appliance (see "name plate").
NOTE:
- The appliance has reached the correct temperature when the pilot lamp (6) on the thermostat goes out.
- During operation, the pilot lamp (6) switches on and off. This is normal and indicates that the temperature is being thermostatically controlled and maintained.
Fat collecting tray
Excess fat collects in the drip tray.
- Slide the drip tray (3) into the bracket under the griddle (4).
- When grilling you should check the contents regularly and empty the tray when necessary.
Using the unit
WARNING:
The appliance is hot during use!
- Preheat the appliance for around 10 minutes. When the pilot lamp (6) goes out, the grill is ready to use.
- Brush the griddle (4) with some food oil.
- Set the temperature control (7) to the desired value.
- The cooking time depends on the type of food, the quantity, and how well cooked the food needs to be and it must be determined according to your own preferences.
- The griddle (4) has an area covered with grooves for easier draining of fat what makes healthy low-fat grilling possible and a flat area that can be used for grilling vegetables.
- When turning the food that is being cooked, please use wooden or Teflon utensils so as not to damage the ceramic surface.
- When the cooking process is complete, you can switch the temperature control (7) to a low level to keep the food warm.
After use
- To switch the appliance off, first turn the temperature control (7) to "OFF" (off) and remove the thermostat from the socket (5).
- Do not remove the thermostat from the appliance until the appliance has cooled down, as the temperature sensor (8) is still very hot after use.
Cleaning
WARNING: Risk of electric shock!
- Never immerse the appliance and the thermostat in water to clean it.
- Never clean the regulator with damp items.
- Never immerse the cable loom and the electrical parts of the appliance in water!

- Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.

CAUTION:
- Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

Never poor cold water on a hot plate, this could damage the device and can cause splashing of hot water.

Always store the appliance in a well-ventilated and dry place out of reach of children.
- Make sure the fat collecting tray (3) is positioned correctly.
Thermostat
Please clean the thermostat with a soft paper towel or a soft dry cloth.
Griddle
- Please remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel.
- Wipe the griddle (4) with a soft sponge and soapy water, rinse with clean water, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. After drying, please apply a thin film of edible oil to the surface.
Fat collecting Tray
- Remove the fat collecting tray (3) from the appliance.
- Discard the contents.
- Clean the tray in warm soapy water.
- Reattach the fat collecting tray (3) to the grill when it is dry.
Bamboo frame
Clean the frame with a slightly damp cloth.
Storage
- Only store the appliance clean and after it has cooled down.
- During longer periods of non-use we recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging.

CAUTION:
Before reinserting the thermostat make sure that the interior of the socket is fully dry.
Troubleshooting
The appliance does not work
Possible cause:
The appliance is not connected to mains power.
Remedy:
- Check the wall outlet with a different appliance.
- Insert the plug properly in the wall outlet.
- Check the fuse.
The temperature is not controlled correctly
Possible cause:
The thermostat is not inserted correctly.
Remedy:
- Insert the thermostat plug properly
