Which battery to use with the GEUB 18250 Li E?

The device works with Einhell's Power X-Change series Li-Ion batteries, sold separately. Only use the Power X charger to recharge them.

How to assemble the blowing tubes?

Insert blowing tube 1 onto the motor unit by aligning groove (A) with guide (B), then turn right until it stops. To add tube 2, repeat the process. The scraper edge must face downward to blow leaves.

How to adjust the blowing speed?

Use the speed regulator (dial) located on the device. Turn left to decrease speed, right to increase. The LED display shows 1 (minimum) to 5 (maximum) LEDs. An audible click indicates maximum speed.

Can I use the device as a vacuum cleaner?

No, the GEUB 18250 Li E is a blower only. It does not have a vacuum function. It can be used to gather leaves, clean a workshop, or light a barbecue.

How to light a barbecue with this device?

Attach the blowing nozzle directly to the motor unit. Set a low speed (1 LED). Tilt the device over the lit charcoal, keeping a sufficient distance to avoid damaging plastic parts.

What are the sound and vibration levels?

Sound pressure level: 79 dB(A); measured sound power: 91 dB(A); guaranteed: 94 dB(A). Vibrations: 3.7 m/s². Wear hearing protection and take regular breaks.

How to maintain the blower?

3. Proper use

Leaf blower

When the blow tubes 1 and 2 (Fig. 2 / Item 2 and Item 3) are used, this machine is designed for clearing away and piling up dry to slightly damp leaves and grass from paved areas and lawns. Small, light-weight rubbish such as cigarettes, twigs, paper, etc. can be gathered from asphalted garden paths or lawns by blowing it into piles.

Workshop blower

When blow tube 1 (Fig. 2 / Item 2) or the blow attachment (Fig. 2 / Item 8) is used, this machine can serve to blow-clean workshop equipment (dust and loose particles of dirt).

Ignition aid

When the blow attachment (Fig. 2 / Item 8) is used, this machine can serve as an ignition aid for charcoal barbecues.

This machine is not allowed to be used for spreading or piling up chemicals and poisons such as fertilizers, pesticides, materials containing asbestos, or infl ammable liquids. Never pile up hot, combustible or explosive materials. In all areas of use take care to create as little dust as possible. Be aware of the hazards associated with naked flames.

The equipment is allowed to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user/operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind resulting from such misuse.

Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the equipment is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.

The equipment is supplied without batteries and without a charger and is allowed to be used only with the lithium-ion batteries of the Power X-Change series!

The lithium-ion batteries of the Power X-Change series are allowed to be charged only with the Power-X charger.

Measured and guaranteed sound power level determined in accordance with 2000/14/EC, extended by 2005/88/EC.

The value given for vibration was determined in accordance with a set of standardized criteria and can be used to compare different products with one another. This value is also suitable to be used for estimating the strain on the user caused by the vibration beforehand.

Caution!

Depending on how you use the device, the actual vibration emissions can vary from the values listed above. Take appropriate measures to protect yourself against vibration stress. Take the entire work sequence into consideration including times at which the device is not working under load or is switched off. Appropriate measures include among other things regular care and maintenance of the device and tool attachments, keeping your hands warm, taking regular breaks and good work sequence planning.

Even if you use this electric power tool in accordance with instructions, certain residual risks cannot be rules out. The following hazards may arise in connection with the equipment's construction and layout:

1. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask is used.
2. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection is used.
3. Health damage caused by hand-arm vibrations if the equipment is used over a prolonged period or is not properly guided and maintained.
4. Risk of eye damage if suitable safety goggles are not worn.

5. Before starting the equipment

Important!

The machine is supplied without batteries and without a charger!

Warning!

Always remove the battery pack before making adjustments to the equipment.

5.1 Assembling blow tube 1 - motor unit (Fig. 3a/3b)

Plug blow tube 1 (Item 2) onto the motor unit (Item 1). The groove (A) must be pushed into the guide (B) when you do this. Turn the blow tube to the right to secure it in its final position on the motor unit.

Important! The tube must be turned as far as it will go to make sure it is firmly secured in position.

The machine can now be used as a workshop blower (Fig. 3c).

5.2 Assembling blow tube 2 – blow tube 1 (Fig. 4a/b)

Plug blow tube 2 (Item 3) onto blow tube 1 (Item 2). Secure the two blow tubes together (see Section 5.1). The scratch edge (Fig. 1/Item 3a) for freeing leaves from the ground must point downwards.

The machine can now be used as a leaf blower (Fig. 1).

5.3 Assembling blow attachment 3 - motor unit (Fig. 5a - 5c)

Plug the blow attachment (Item 8) onto the motor unit (Item 1). Secure the two parts together (see Section 5.1).

The machine can now be used as a workshop blower or as an ignition aid for charcoal barbecues (Fig. 5c).

Note: To dismantle the above mentioned attachments, proceed in reverse order.

5.4 Fitting the battery (Fig. 6a/6b)

Press the pushlock button (Item C) of the battery pack as shown in Fig. 6a and push the battery pack into the mount provided. When the battery pack is positioned as in Fig. 6b, make sure that the pushlock button latches in place! To remove the battery, proceed in reverse order!

5.5 Charging the battery (Fig. 7)

1. Take the battery pack out of the equipment. Do this by pressing the pushlock button.
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger into the socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to blink.
3. Insert the battery pack into the charger.
4. In section „Charger indicator“ you will find a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.

The battery pack can become a little warm during the charging. This is normal.

If the battery pack fails to charge, check:

• whether there is voltage at the socket outlet
- whether there is good contact at the charging contacts

If the battery pack still fails to charge, send

• the charging unit
• and the battery pack

to our customer service center.

To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.

When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fi res.

To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.

5.6 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 8)

Press the button for the battery capacity indicator (A). The battery capacity indicator (B) shows the charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.

All 3 LEDs are lit:

The battery is fully charged.

2 or 1 LED(s) are lit:

The battery has an adequate remaining charge.

1 LED fl ashes:

The battery is empty, recharge the battery.

All LEDs blink:

The battery temperature is too low. Remove the battery from the equipment, keep it at room temperature for one day. If the fault reoccurs, this means that the rechargeable battery has undergone exhaustive discharge and is defective. Remove the battery from the equipment. Never use or charge a defective battery.

6. Operation

Caution!

If you point the air flow at other people, animals or objects (e.g. windows), this could cause injuries and damage. Check that all the components are correctly seated.

• Point the air flow away from yourself.
• Never point the air flow at other people, animals or objects.
• Do not blow away any hard objects such as stones or branches.

6.1 Switching the machine on/off (Fig. 9) a) Switching on:

To switch on, press and hold the On/Off switch (Item 6).

b) Switching off :

Let go of the On/Off switch (Item 6).

6.2 Controlling the speed (Fig. 9/10)

The equipment comes with electronic speed control for setting the blowing velocity. The blowing velocity depends on the setting of the speed controller (Item 5). The number of LEDs which appear on the display (Item 4) correspond to the selected blowing velocity.

1 LED = lowest blowing velocity
5 LEDs = highest blowing velocity

1. Switch on the machine (Section 6.1). The number of LEDs corresponding to the blowing velocity will appear on the display (Item 4).

2. Turn the speed controller (Item 5) counterclockwise to reduce the blowing velocity, turn it clockwise to increase it. The speed controller will make an audible click when the maximum blowing velocity (5 LEDs on the display) is reached.

Use the equipment only with the blowing velocity needed for the job.

6.3 Leaf blower (Fig. 1)

• Turn on the equipment (see section 6.1).
- Set the desired blowing velocity with the speed controller (see section 6.2).
- Direct the air stream forward and walk slowly to blow foliage or garden refuse into a pile or to remove it from hard-to-reach places.

6.4 Workshop blower (Fig. 3c / 5c)

• Turn on the machine (see Section 6.1).

• Begin by setting the lowest blowing velocity with the speed controller (see Section 6.2).
• Channel the air stream forward and move slowly to remove dust and dirt from any machine parts.

6.5 Ignition aid (Fig. 5c)

• Turn on the machine (see Section 6.1).
- Begin by setting the lowest blowing velocity with the speed controller (see Section 6.2).
- Hold the machine at an angle above the ignited charcoal.
- Keep a big enough distance away from the charcoal so that the heat does not damage any plastic parts.

Danger!

Never gather (blow) hot, combustible or explosive materials into piles.

7. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

Danger!

Always pull out the battery pack before starting any cleaning work.

7.1 Cleaning

• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
  • We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
• Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

7.2 Maintenance

• Should the tool experience problems beyond those mentioned above, let only an authorised professional or a customer service shop perform an inspection.
• There are no other parts inside the equipment which require maintenance.

8. Faults

The equipment does not work:

Check that the battery is charged and that the charger is working. If the equipment will not work in spite of the voltage supply being OK, please send it to the customer service address provided.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.

10. Storage

Store the equipment and accessories out of children's reach in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30^ . Store the electric tool in its original packaging.

The equipment can be hung up by its integrated wall holder (Fig. 11 / Item 1a).
