How to set up the Albrecht DR 461 adapter?

Connect the adapter to an audio source (speaker, hi-fi system) using the supplied audio cable. Connect the micro USB power. Wait for the indicator to flash red (approx. 30 s). On your smartphone, connect to the Wi-Fi network 'AirMusic'. Open the AirMusic Control app, select 'Albrecht DR461', then your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password. The indicator turns green when the connection is established.

Why does the indicator stay red and not turn green?

This means the adapter could not connect to your Wi-Fi network. Check the entered password and make sure the router is on. If the problem persists, press and hold the reset button (under the device) for 2 seconds with a pointed object to restore factory settings, then repeat the setup procedure.

The AirMusic Control app does not find the adapter. What should I do?

Make sure your smartphone is connected to the 'AirMusic' Wi-Fi network (not your home network) during the initial setup. If the adapter is already configured, check that your smartphone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the adapter. Restart the app and the adapter by unplugging and plugging it back in. If the problem persists, reset the adapter.

How to use Spotify Connect with the DR 461?

Open the Spotify app on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Select a track, then click on the 'Available Devices' icon. Choose 'Albrecht DR461' from the list. Music will be played through your speaker connected to the adapter. Make sure the adapter is on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device.

The adapter goes into standby automatically. How to wake it up?

The adapter goes into standby after 15 minutes of inactivity (green flashing indicator). To wake it up, simply open the AirMusic Control app and select 'Albrecht DR 461'. The indicator turns solid green again and you can resume playing music.

Can I connect the adapter to a Bluetooth speaker?

Yes, if your Bluetooth speaker has an auxiliary input (3.5 mm). Connect the audio cable from the adapter to the auxiliary input of the speaker. The adapter itself is not Bluetooth; it connects via Wi-Fi and transmits sound through the audio cable.

How to reset the adapter to factory settings?

Locate the small hole under the adapter (reset button). Insert a pointed object (paperclip, toothpick) and hold it down for about 2 seconds until the indicator turns red. The adapter will restart and you can perform the initial setup again.

3. Setup / First steps

1. The Albrecht DR 461 Internet Radio adapter does not have any buttons. All functions can by controlled by your mobile device (like smartphone, tablet, etc.) through the free App „AirMusic Control“.

1. Connect the adapter to an audio output source like an external speaker, Bluetooth speaker, home stereo system or similar. Use the 3.5mm to RCA audio cable and connect it to the Aux-Out socket of the adapter.
2. Connect the supplied power supply to the Micro USB input of the DR461 and plug the power supply into a wall socket afterwards.
3. The status LED on top of the adapter lights up in red color. After about 30 seconds it starts blinking red. Now the adapter is ready for connection to your WiFi network.
4. Open the WiFi settings of your mobile device (e.g. smartphone) and connect to the WiFi "AirMusic".

1. Select your WiFi Network. You will be asked to enter a "Password" (this is the network key that you will find most likely on the backside of your router).
2. After successfully entering your password, the Albrecht DR461 will connect to your WiFi network (here in the example network „Alan Electronics“). Establishing the connection can take up to 30 seconds. It is successfully connected once the LED turns to green color.

1. Restart the „AirMusic Control“ App now and select „Albrecht DR461“ again.
2. You are now ready to use the adapter.

Remark: If the connection is not successful after 1 minute, Please long press the reset button on the bottom of the adapter until the red light appears and try to connect it again following the steps above.

4. Operation of the Albrecht DR 461 adapter

As the adapter does not have any buttons, it will go automatically into Standby mode after 15 minutes of no operation or music playing. Standby mode is signalized by the green LED light blinking slowly. The WiFi is still active in the background and you can use the adapter any time.

To wake up the adapter again, just open the „AirMusic Control“ app and select „Albrecht DR 461“. The LED status light will turn to permanent green light.

If you disconnected the adapter from the power source, it will take about 45 seconds to reboot again. The status LED is red for about 30 seconds, starts blinking green for another 15 seconds and then turns green. The adapter is now ready for operation.

5. „AirMusic Control“ App

The AirMusic Control app lets you control the Albrecht DR 461 adapter with the help of your smartphone or tablet. You can also play music files stored on your phone directly through the adapter.

In the main menu you find all functions of the Albrecht DR 461.
