1. Attention! Danger of suffocation and/or carbon monoxide poisoning. This appliance must

be used outdoors exclusively. The appliance is not intended for indoor use. It is not meant for heating inhabitable areas in residential buildings. Never use the appliance in a living, work or sleeping area. The appliance may not be used in mobile homes, caravans, campers and boats. The use of this appliance in a closed space is DANGEROUS and FORBIDDEN! EN14

2. Use only gas cartridges according the EN-417 norm with a 7/16” screw thread connection.

Never use a gas cartridge with another type of connection! Use only non-damaged, non- relled gas cartridge with a mix of propane/butane. Carefully comply with all the safety warnings stipulated on the gas cartridge. Every time you install a gas cartridge, rst check the connection between the gas cartridge and the appliance for gas leakage by using a leak detector spray or a soapy solution.

3. Always install the gas cartridges in the appliance outdoors, remote from any sources of

ignition, such as re, pilot ames, cigarettes, electrical appliances, etc.

4. Every time you install a gas cartridge in the appliance, check whether the rubber sealing

ring between the appliance and the gas cartridge is present and in good condition (see photo 2a in the Description chapter).

5. Attention! Do not touch hot parts of the appliance. Let the appliance cool down sufciently

before you move it and/or store it.

6. Attention! Accessible parts of the appliance could become very hot. Keep this appliance

out of reach of children.

7. Attention! This appliance must be used at a safe distance from ammable materials. Make

sure that you comply with the following safe distances from all ammable materials: - Front side: 100 cm - Top side: 100 cm - Sides: 50 cm - Rear side: 50 cm

8. Always place the appliance on a non-ammable surface. Never use the appliance on a

wooden surface or another type of ammable surface and regularly check whether the surface is not becoming overheated; this could be dangerous!

9. Store tent canvasses / plastic objects, etc. or make sure you have taken an extra large

distance from these objects so that they can never stand within the aforementioned distances.

10. Do not use the appliance close to ammable or explosive materials such as paint, etc.,

highly ammable liquids and gases such as fuels, thinners, diesel, benzene, turpentine, alcohol or volatile and gaseous fuels. These can cause re or an explosion.

11. Do not use the appliance in places that have ammable materials scattered about (paper,

wood chips, crumbs, breglass waste, etc.). These materials can cause a re.Do not use any spray cans near an operating appliance. The propellant can cause an explosion.

12. If you smell gas or hear a hissing sound, switch off the appliance immediately. Do not use

the appliance and bring it immediately to a place with no sources of ignition, such as re, pilot ame, cigarettes, electrical equipment, etc. and remove the gas cartridge from the appliance.

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS

1. 1. Before using the appliance, read and understand all the instructions and warnings in this

user manual and on the appliance.

2. Safety measures are essential when operating an appliance that uses gas. By using theeurom.nl

appliance carefully and observing the warnings, you reduce the risk of damage or serious injury to yourself and to others.

3. Be careful when using the appliance. Use your common sense and always be very mindful.

Do not use the appliance when you are tired, when taking medication that makes you sleepy or if you have used alcohol or drugs.

4. The appliance is not suitable for use by people (including children) with physical, sensory

or mental disabilities. It is also not suitable for use by people who lack knowledge and experience, regardless of whether there is supervision or instructions given (prior to use) by a person responsible for their safety.

5. Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than the purpose for which it is intended.

6. Improper use can lead to re, explosion, severe injury, carbon monoxide poisoning or even

7. Incomplete combustion or lack of oxygen can cause carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon

monoxide is deadly. The initial symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning resemble u-like symptoms: headache, dizziness, burning eyes and nose, dry mouth and throat and nausea. 10. Do not make any changes to the appliance.

11. Never try to repair the appliance by yourself, but turn to a qualied person for repairing it.

12. Always unscrew the gas cartridge from the appliance if you do not use the appliance for a

long time or if you want to move it.

13. When not using the appliance, store it in a safe cool, dry and well-ventilated place and out

of reach of children.

14. Never leave an operating appliance unsupervised.

15. Place and operate the appliance only on an even, horizontal and rm surface.

16. Do not smoke while changing the gas cartridges.

17. Never point the appliance towards the gas cartridge.

20. Use the appliance only for heating, never for drying.Do not hang clothing, towels, etc. in front

or above the appliance. Danger of re!

21. Never move, touch or carry out maintenance on an operating appliance. If you want to move

the appliance, to check it, clean it or maintain it or to change the gas cartridge, rst switch off the appliance and let it cool down completely.

22. Do not use the appliance in case of strong winds and take measures to prevent it from falling

23. Children, unauthorised persons and animals are not allowed near the appliance, unless they

are strictly supervised. Be especially cautious when igniting the heater. The user accepts all the risks related to using this appliance. Not following the warnings and instructions in this user manual can cause damage and lead to serious injuries. The manufacturer, importer and supplier cannot be held liable in case of negligence by the user.

  • Remove all the packaging materials and keep these out of children’s reach. After removing the packaging of the appliance, check whether there are no damages or signs that indicate a fault/defect/malfunction. In case of doubt, do not use the appliance and turn to your supplier for checking/replacing.
  • Place the appliance on an even, horizontal and rm surface, taking into account all the safety precautions stipulated in this user manual and on the appliance. Connecting the gas cartridge (always outdoors and remote from any sources of ignition)
  • Let the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes.
  • Open the door of the compartment that holds the gas cartridge.
  • Before connecting the gas cartridge, move the gas valve upwards in order the easily mount the gas cartridge.
  • Check whether the rubber sealing ring in the gas valve is present and is in good condition.
  • Make sure that the operating knob is positioned at OFF.
  • Check that the screw thread of the gas cartridge ts and is undamaged: EN417-7/16”
  • Hold the screw thread of the gas cartridge parallel to the screw thread of the appliance’s gas valve and manually tighten the gas cartridge clockwise into the gas valve so that the connection is sealed. Do not use any tools for this connection.
  • Check the connection between the gas cartridg e and the gas valve on the appliance for gas-tightness. For this task, use a soapy solution or leak detector spray on the connection. If bubbles appear, then the connection is not completely sealed and there is a gas leak. OFF OFF Pilot ame, piezo ignition ignition High heating level Low heating level

EN18 If gas escapes (gas odour or bubbles during the leak test), take the appliance immediately to a place with good air circulation (outside), where there are no ammable sources and where the leak can be localised and solved. Check the tightness of the appliance outdoors. Never search for a leak using a ame. Use a leak detector spray or a soapy solution. Never use an appliance with a gas leak. Remove the gas cartridge from the appliance and turn to a certi ed technician.

  • When there is no more gas leak(s), then the appliance is ready for used. Replacing the gas cartridge (always outdoors and remote from any sources of ignition)
  • Press the operation knob lightly and turn it clockwise to the OFF position.
  • Let the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes.
  • Open the door and unscrew the gas cartridge counter clockwise.
  • Connect the new gas cartridge to the appliance as described above (including a leak test!).

07. OPERATION AND USE

To have the appliance provide heat and to set the height of the ame, do the following: Place the appliance outdoors on an even, horizontal and rm surface, away from any ammable materials. Comply with all the aforementioned safety regulations and warnings that are stipulated.

1. Make sure that the operating knob is in the OFF position. If not, press the operating knob

slightly and turn the knob counter clockwise to the position (pilot ame/piezo ignition). In this position, push the operating knob completely. Press and hold the knob and wait maximum 30 seconds for the gas pipes to aerate.

2. Release the operating knob and press it once again until

you hear a click. If necessary, press more than once until you determine that the pilot ame is burning. Now keep the knob pressed for another 10 seconds. Subsequently, release the operating knob and check whether the pilot ame continues to burn. If the pilot ame is out, the start again at point 3.

3. 3. Press the knob slightly and turn the operating knob counter

clockwise to the highest level.

4. The appliance is now on and after a short time, you will see

that the ceramic heating plate turns orange.

5. After approx. 5 minutes, the appliance provides the full

heating output. Now if you wish, you can press the operating knob slightly and turn it clockwise to a lower heating level .

6. To switch off the appliance, press the operating knob slightly

Attention: Under unfavourable conditions (for example, very low outside temperature, a frozen gas cartridge) the appliance might switch off automatically before the gas cartridge is completely empty. This is normal and can be explained by the physical characteristics and the natural pressure of liquid gas. In that case, install a new gas cartridge as described above. You can use the excess gas from the rst cartridge as soon as the temperature is higher.

08. OPERATING METHODS FOR THE SAFETY PROVISIONS

Flame monitoring & protection against lack of oxygen: The gas supply is automatically disrupted under the following circumstances:

  • If the ame dims during heating, for example because the gas cartridge is empty or nearly empty or the ame is blown out.
  • If the oxygen content in the environment becomes too low. Look for the cause of the automatic switch-off and solve the problem before you try to switch on the appliance once again. Falling-over safeguard: The gas supply is disrupted if the appliance is not in an upright position, for example if it falls over.
  • The appliance requires almost no maintenance.
  • Regularly check the rubber sealing ring.
  • Never make changes to the appliance and/or to the gas cartridge. Cleaning:
  • Clean the appliance regularly with a dry cloth. Do not use any aggressive scouring agents, solvents or benzene. Do not soak the appliance in water or any other liquids and do not spray it. The appliance and certainly the openings must stay dust-free.
  • Remove dust from the inside of the appliance using moderate compressed air and/or a vacuum cleaner, but without dissembling the appliance. EN20 Storage:
  • If you are not using the appliance, remove the cartridge and store the appliance in a safe, cool, dry and well-ventilated place out of reach of children; if possible in its original packaging.
  • Protect the gas cartridge against sunrays and never expose it to temperatures above 50°C.
  • If you don’t use or move the appliance for a long period, always unscrew the gas cartridge.
  • The national regulations for operating, transporting and storing must be observed.
  • The appliance does not ignite. • The operating knob is not set correctly.
  • The gas has not yet reached the outlet of the pipe.
  • Gas cartridge is empty.
  • The appliance switches off by itself during operation.
  • Gas cartridge is empty
  • Pressure in the gas cartridge is too low (e.g., due to low temperatures).
  • Oxygen content is too low.
  • Replace the gas cartridge.
  • Use a new full gas cartridge. The rst gas cartridge can be reused once the temperatures become higher.
  • The appliance is suitable only for outdoor use. If it is mistakenly used in a closed room, then open all the windows and evacuate the room immediately. Danger of suffocation!eurom.nl eurom.nl
