Frequently Asked Questions - Outsider 322569 Eurom

Where can I use the Outsider 322569 appliance?
This appliance must be used exclusively outdoors. It is not suitable for domestic use, nor in caravans, motorhomes, boats, or enclosed spaces. Indoor use is dangerous and prohibited due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
What type of gas cartridge should I use?
Use only gas cartridges compliant with standard EN-417 with a 7/16 inch threaded connection. Never use a damaged or refilled cartridge.
How to install a gas cartridge?
Always install the cartridge outdoors, away from any ignition source. Open the compartment door, check the rubber seal, screw the cartridge in by hand clockwise, then test for leaks with soapy water or a leak detector spray.
How to turn on the appliance?
Make sure the control is set to OFF. Turn it to the pilot/ignition position, press it fully for 30 seconds to purge the lines, then press until you hear a click. Keep pressed for an additional 10 seconds after the flame ignites. Then, turn to the desired heat level.
What to do if the appliance turns off automatically?
Possible causes: empty gas cartridge, low pressure (cold weather), or oxygen depletion. Replace if empty; if low pressure, use a full cartridge. If oxygen depletion is suspected, use the appliance only outdoors with good ventilation.
What safety distances must be observed?
Observe the following minimum distances from flammable materials: front and top: 100 cm, sides and back: 50 cm. Always place the appliance on a non-flammable surface.
How to clean the appliance?
Clean the appliance regularly with a dry cloth. Use compressed air or a vacuum cleaner to dust the interior without disassembling. Never immerse the appliance in water and do not use solvents.
What to do in case of a gas leak?
If you smell gas or hear a hissing sound, turn off the appliance immediately. Move it outdoors away from any ignition source, remove the gas cartridge, and do not use it until the leak is repaired by a professional.
Can the appliance be used in strong wind?
It is not recommended to use the appliance in strong wind as it may tip over or extinguish the flame. If necessary, take measures to stabilize the appliance and protect it from wind.
How to store the appliance off-season?
Always remove the gas cartridge. Store the appliance in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, out of reach of children, ideally in its original packaging. Protect the cartridge from sunlight and temperatures above 50 °C.

natural_image Close-up of a metallic cylindrical mechanical component with a central bore and textured surface (no visible text or symbols)

Connecting the gas cartridge (always outdoors and remote from any sources of ignition)

  • Let the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes.
  • Open the door of the compartment that holds the gas cartridge.
  • Before connecting the gas cartridge, move the gas valve upwards in order the easily mount the gas cartridge.
  • Check whether the rubber sealing ring in the gas valve is present and is in good condition.
    • Make sure that the operating knob is positioned at OFF.
  • Check that the screw thread of the gas cartridge fits and is undamaged: EN417-7/16"
  • Hold the screw thread of the gas cartridge parallel to the screw thread of the appliance's gas valve and manually tighten the gas cartridge clockwise into the gas valve so that the connection is sealed. Do not use any tools for this connection.

If gas escapes (gas odour or bubbles during the leak test), take the appliance immediately to a place with good air circulation (outside), where there are no fl ammable sources and where the leak can be localised and solved. Check the tightness of the appliance outdoors. Never search for a leak using a flame. Use a leak detector spray or a soapy solution. Never use an appliance with a gas leak. Remove the gas cartridge from the appliance and turn to a certified technician.

- When there is no more gas leak(s), then the appliance is ready for used.

Replacing the gas cartridge (always outdoors and remote from any sources of ignition)

  • Press the operation knob lightly and turn it clockwise to the OFF position.
  • Let the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes.
  • Open the door and unscrew the gas cartridge counter clockwise.
  • Connect the new gas cartridge to the appliance as described above (including a leak test!).

To have the appliance provide heat and to set the height of the flame, do the following: Place the appliance outdoors on an even, horizontal and firm surface, away from any flammable materials. Comply with all the aforementioned safety regulations and warnings that are stipulated.

  1. Make sure that the operating knob is in the OFF position. If not, press the operating knob

slightly and turn the knob counter clockwise to the position (pilot fl ame/piezo ignition). In this position, push the operating knob completely. Press and hold the knob and wait maximum 30 seconds for the gas pipes to aerate.

If the pilot fl ame is out, the start again at point 3.
  2. Press the knob slightly and turn the operating knob counter clockwise to the highest level.
  3. The appliance is now on and after a short time, you will see that the ceramic heating plate turns orange.
  4. After approx. 5 minutes, the appliance provides the full heating output. Now if you wish, you can press the operating knob slightly and turn it clockwise to a lower heating level.
  5. To switch off the appliance, press the operating knob slightly and turn it clockwise to the OFF position.

OFF SEUROM GAS PIEZO CLICK

10 sec.

Attention: Under unfavourable conditions (for example, very low outside temperature, a frozen gas cartridge) the appliance might switch off automatically before the gas cartridge is completely empty. This is normal and can be explained by the physical characteristics and the natural pressure of liquid gas. In that case, install a new gas cartridge as described above. You can use the excess gas from the first cartridge as soon as the temperature is higher.
