4. Getting Started

Insertingthebattery

• Openthebatterycompartment(2),insert thebatterieswiththecorrectpolarity andclosethebatterycompartment(2). Theoutdoorsensorisnowreadyfor operation.

Replacingthebatteries

• Openthebatterycompartment(2), removeandproperlydisposeofthedead batteriesandinserttwonewAAbatteries withthecorrectpolarity. T henclosethe batterycompartmentcover.

Note

Before use, make sure that you insert the batteriesinthemeasuringstationfirst andtheninthebasestation.

5.Installation

Note-Installation

• Werecommendinitiallyplacingthe baseandmeasuringstationsinthe intendedlocationswithoutinstalling themandmakingallthesettings described in6.0peration.
  -Onlyinstall t hestationsoncethe appropriatesettingshavebeenmade and a s tablewirelessconnectionis established.
• Donotmounttheproductabove locationswhere personsmightlinger.

Note

• Thewirelesstransmissionrange between themeasuring and base stationsisupto30metresinopen spaces.Before installation,ensure thatwirelesstransmissionwillnot be disrupted by interferenceorobstacles like buildings,trees,vehicles,high-voltagelines,etc.
• Before the final installation, ensure that there is sufficient cientreception between the intended installation locations.
• Wheninstallingthemeasuringstation, ensure that hepatitisprotectedfromdirect sunlightandrain.
  The international standard h eightfor measuringairtemperature is 1 .25m (4ft)aboveground.

Warning

• Buyspecialorsuitableinstallation materialfromaspecialiseddealerfor wall-mounting.
• Ensure that hatnofaultyordamaged partsare installed.
• Neverapplyforceduringinstallation. Thiscoulddamagetheproduct.
• Before installation, ensure that the chosenwallissuitablefortheweight tobeinstallation,andmakesurethata there a renoelectricalwires,water, gasorotherlinesinthewallatthe installationsite.

• You can position themeasuring station on a leveloutdoorsurface using the base.
• Werecommendinstallingthemeasuring stationsecurelyonanoutdoorwall.
• Install an anchor, screw, nail, etc. in the wallof your choice.
• Hangthemeasuringstationusingthe openingintendedforthispurpose(5).

6. Operation

6.1.Defaultsetting

• Afteropeningthebatterycompartment, firstchoosethechannelusingthe CHANNELbutton.
• Onlythen, insert the batteries into the battery compartment with the correct polarity.
• PresstheRESETbutton.
• Thenreplace the battery compartment on the outdoor sensor.

6.2.Connectiontothemeasuring station

• To connect themeasuring station and the outdoorsensor, p lacehetwodevices as closetogetheraspossible.
• Afteryouinsertthebatteries, thebase stationautomaticallysearchesfora connectionto themeasuringstation and performsinitialsetup.
• Ifthedevicedoesnotconnect automatically, t hemanualsearch programonthebasestationmust bestarted.

• Initialsetupapprox approx.2 m inutes.

Note

• During the connection attempt, the measuring station radiosymbol(1) will flash.
• Donotpressanybuttonsduring setup. Otherwise, valuesmaynotbe transmittedcorrectlyandthere is a risk of valueerrorsandinaccuracy.
• Thesetupprocessiscompletedwhen theindoorandoutdoormeasurement dataisdisplayedonthebasestation.
• Themeasuredvalueisautomatically updatedbythebasedeviceabout every45seconds.
• Ifthetemperature is o utsideofthe measuringrange,LL.L(lowerthan minimumtemperature)orHH.H(higher than maximumtemperature)willappear onthetemperature d isplay.

6.3. Selecting the channel/Other measuringstations

Note

• Ensure t hatthebaseandmeasuring stationsare s ettothesamechannel. Visitwww.hama.comforsuitable measuringstations.
• The transmission channel on the supplied measuring station can be changed/set(CH1,CH2,CH3).

6.4.Lowbatterycharge Measuringstation

If the batteries need to be replaced, the symbol for low battery charge will appear next to the outdoor temperature display on the base device. Replace the batteries immediately.

• Notethathestationshavetoberesynchronisedeachtimeafteryouchangethebatteriesinthemeasuringorbasestation.
• Todothis,removethebatteriesfrom theotherstationandthenreinsert them,orchangethemasrequired.

6.5 Reset

PresstheRESETbutton(3)tostartthe station Themesuringstationreturnstothe factorysettings.

7.CareandMaintenance

• Onlycleanthisproductwithasli ghtly damp,lint-freeclothanddonotuse aggressivecleaningagents.
• Makesure t hatwaterdoesnotgetinto theproduct.
