Read the safety instruction carefully before using your appliance for the first time: any use which does not conform to these instructions will absolve from any liability.

Safety instructions

  • This appliance may be used by children of at least 8 years of age, as long as they are supervised and have been given instructions about using the appliance safely and are fully aware of the dangers involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years
  • This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance and that they fully understand the potential hazards.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the device.
  • Do not leave the appliance (whether or not it is

switched on) within reach of children unsupervised.

WARNING: This electrical appliance contains a heating function. Surfaces, also different than the functional surfaces, can develop high temperatures. Since temperatures are differently perceived by different persons, this equipment shall be used with CAUTION. Surfaces other than intended gripping surfaces shall get sufficiently time to the cool down before getting touched.

Before using your appliance for the first time

Clean the plates using a damp sponge rinse and dry carefully.

After applying a fine coating oil to the plates, close the appliance and plug it in. The indicator light (red) will come on. Allow it to heat up for several minutes to get rid of the new smell.

To Use

CAUTION:Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen food.

NOTE: During the initial uses of this product, it may produce some smoke. This is normal and will subside with further use.

  1. Before using this product for the first time, clean it as described in the "Care and Maintenance" section.
  2. Open the unit by pulling the Handle up.
  3. Close the Plates and turn the unit on by plugging it into a standard electrical outlet. Verify that the Power Indicator Light illuminates in orange.

WARNING: The Cooking Plates and metal surfaces of the unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear heat resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the black portion of the Handle.

  1. After the unit preheats for approximately five minutes, the Ready Indicator Light will illuminate in green, indicating the product is ready for use.
  2. Use the Handle to lift the Upper Plate. Place food on the Lower Plate using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.

CAUTION: Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the Plates' non-stick coating.

  1. Use the Handle to lower and rest the Upper Plate on top of the food.

NOTES:

  • The cooking time for different foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods.
  • Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.

  • When the food is cooked as desired, lift the Handle to open the Plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If more cooking will be done at this time, close the Plates to conserve heat.

  • Repeat Steps 5-6 until all cooking is complete
  • Turn off the product by unplugging the Power Cord from the electrical outlet. When the unit has completely cooled, clean and dry it.

Cleaning

  • Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it and allow it cool down.
  • Never place the appliance in water or under running water.
  • To clean the outside of the appliance, use a damp sponge and dry carefully.
  • To clean the plates, use a damp sponge with washing up liquid. Rinse and dry them with care.
    . If there is any batter backed onto the plate, we would advise using vegetable oil to soften it and waiting 5 minutes before removing it.
  • Never use a scouring pad or powder.

Storage

Wind the cord around the appliance and store the appliance vertically to save space.
