GENERAL INFORMATION The smoke alarm alerts you early and reliably to an accumulation of re smoke, and gives you and your family plenty of time to escape to safety. This is of particular importance at night because when asleep we are not able to smell re smoke, and so are exposed to the toxic gases generated by res. During this phase, the smoke alarm gives you a head start to vacate the room safely. Experience has shown that smoke alarms save lives. In this respect, please also follow our instructions on using our product properly. Delivered with the smoke alarm (including base) are this operating guide, the leaet with important information, two replaceable batteries and screws for attaching thealarm.OPERATING AND INSTALLATION GUIDE

INSTALLATION LOCATION The smoke alarm is tted to the ceiling of the room. Fitting it in the centre of the room gives the smoke alarm its optimum detection characteristics. In multi-storey buildings, at least one additional smoke alarm should be positioned in the hallway on every oor. If a smoke alarm is connected to a Gigaset base, the maximum range for DECT wireless transmission is 50 metres (indoor). Living room KKiittcchheenn Bath KitchenCellarHallwayLiving room Living room

Clean the slots of the smoke alarm (on the side) using a vacuum cleaner, either with a ne brush or suitable special brush. Do not blow into the slots. Wipe the device with a damp or antistatic cloth. Do not use solvents or microbre cloths. Never use a dry cloth as this can cause static charging.OPERATING AND INSTALLATION GUIDE

ALARM MUTING When an alarm is raised, alarm muting can be activated by pressing the face of the alarm. The smoke alarm continues to work, but with an actuation sensitivity reduced temporarily and actuation threshold increased temporarily. When alarm muting is enabled, the alarm only mutes when the smoke concentration in the smoke chamber is below the increased actuation threshold. If the smoke concentration is above the actuation threshold increased this way, alarm muting does not work and the loud signal continues to sound. The smoke alarm switches back to normal mode with the normal actuation sensitivity after about 10 minutes. This alarm mute function can not be disabled manually.SMOKE ALARM Smoke Sensor 2.0
