Frequently Asked Questions - Elements Door GIGASET

How to install the Elements Door sensor?
Fix the sensor on a door or window using the included double-sided adhesive tape or screws. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and grease-free. Optimal adhesion is achieved after 48 hours. Follow the recommended location in the 'Getting Started' guide.
Which battery should be used for the sensor?
Use a primary lithium battery 3.0 V type CR123A or CR17345. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
What is the range of the sensor?
The radio range is up to 50 m indoors and up to 300 m outdoors (without obstacles).
Can the sensor be used outdoors?
No, the sensor is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not protected against water splashes.
What to do if the sensor comes into contact with liquid?
Disconnect the power and remove the battery. Let the liquid drain, dry it with an absorbent cloth, then place the device in a warm, dry place for at least 72 hours before turning it on again.
How to clean the sensor?
Wipe it with a damp or antistatic cloth. Do not use solvents, microfiber cloth, or a dry cloth (risk of static discharge).
Does the sensor work without the Gigaset Elements pack?
No, the sensor requires the Gigaset Elements security pack (hub) to operate and communicate with the app.
What is the warranty period?
The warranty is 24 months on manufacturing and material defects. Wear parts (keypads, housings) are warranted for 6 months. Batteries are not covered.
Can I reuse the adhesive tape after removal?
No, the adhesive tape is for single use only. For reassembly, use only the tapes provided by Gigaset.
What to do if the sensor does not connect?
Check that the Gigaset Elements security pack is installed and turned on. Ensure the sensor battery is inserted correctly. Consult the 'Getting Started' guide for pairing. If the problem persists, contact customer service via www.gigaset-elements.fr/contact.
