2. Safety instructions for the user
GENERAL PRECAUTIONS General precautions during the use of electrical equipment
- Do not use or store the appliance outdoors.
- This product is designed for indoor domestic, non-industrial and non-commercial use. Do not use the item outdoors or for any other purpose. Misuse or improper handling may cause problems with the appliance and may cause injury to the user.
- The unit must only be used for its intended purpose. No liability is ac- cepted for damage resulting from improper use or incorrect handling.
- Make sure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate matches the mains voltage before plugging in the appliance.
- Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
- It is necessary to supervise when any electrical appliance is being used by or near children.
- Before cleaning or storing your appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool down.
- The device is not completely disconnected from the power supply, even after it has been switched o. To disconnect it completely, unplug it from the mains socket.
- The appliances are not designed to be operated by an external timer or a separate remote-control system. Restrictions on use to avoid personal injury
- Do not leave the appliance unattended.
- Do not place or use this appliance near water sources.
- Do not place or use the appliance and its power cord on or near hot surfaces (e.g., hotplates) or open ames.
- Do not leave the power cord hanging over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and naked ames. Do not coil the cord around the appliance or bend it.
- Never use accessories not recommended by the manufacturer.
- The use of accessories not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may result in re, electric shock or injury to persons.
- To avoid electric shock, make sure your hands are dry before plugging or unplugging the appliance.9 ENGLISH
- Do not use the appliance with wet hands, on wet oors or when the environment is damp, there is a risk of electric shock.
- Never immerse the appliance or the plug-in water or any other liquid. Should the appliance fall into water, disconnect it immediately from the mains and take it to an authorised service centre for repair before using it again.
- Don’t use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. Never locate the heater where it may fall into bathtub or other water container.
- Do not use the appliance if it has fallen on the oor, if it shows visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
- Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged. In the event of damage to the cord, it must be replaced only by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid hazards.
- In case of malfunction of the appliance, or if it has been damaged in any way, return the appliance to the nearest authorised service centre for examination, repair or adjustment.
- To avoid overloading the circuit when using this product, do not operate another high voltage product on the same electrical circuit.
- It is not recommended to use an extension cord with this product, but if an extension cord should be used: - The marked electrical rating of the cable must be at least as good as that of the product. - Arrange the extension cord so that it does not hang down where it can be tripped over or pulled unintentionally. - Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and maintenance of the user must not be carried out by children without supervision.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capa- bilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children under 8 years of age.
- Children under 3 years of age should be kept away from the appliance unless they are under constant supervision.
- Children from 3 to 8 years of age are allowed to operate the on/o button ONLY if the appliance is installed and ready for operation and the children have been supervised and instructed in safe operation10 ENGLISH of the appliance and they understand all associated risks.
- Children aged 3 to 8 years MUST NOT: insert the plug into the soc- ket, make adjustment, clean the appliance or carry out user mainte- nance operations. Instructions to be followed when using the device
- Do not leave your home, while the appliance is turned on: assure that the switch is in position OFF (0) (Turned-o) and the thermostat switch is in position-minimum. Always disconnect the plug of the device from the socket.
- WARNING: Keep inammable objects as furniture, cushions, bedding, paper, clothes, curtains etc. at a distance of minimum 100cm away from the fan heater.
- Do not use the device in areas of usage and storage of inammable substances.
- Do not use the device in combustible areas/ for example near inam- mable gases an aerosol/-there is a great risk of explosion and re.
- Do not insert or allow any objects to get into the ventilation openings (inlets and outlets), because that can cause break-down of the appliance or any other damages.
- The appliance is not suitable for animal breeding and is intended and is intended only for domestic use!
- Keep the air inlet and outlet free from any objects: you should keep a clear distance of at least 1m in front and 50cm behind the heater. Do not allow any objects to get into in the air inlet or outlet because that can cause electrical shock, re or damage of the heating element.
- The most common reason for over-heating is the accumulation of dust and dirt in the appliance. You should clean regularly ventilation ope- nings with a vacuum cleaner. Before cleaning you must disconnect the appliance from the mains. Keep the fan heater always clean.
- Warning! Do not touch hot surface. The air outlet gets hot when the appliance is operating (more than 80 degree Celsius)
- The electric system to which the appliance is connected must be provi- ded with automatic safety fuse. The distance between the sockets and the appliance (in turned-o state) must be at least 30mm.
- Grounding is forbidden! After unpacking and before use, you must check if the mechanical parts and their gear are in a good state. If you have any doubts, you should not use the appliance and search advice from a qualied electrician.
- In order to avoid any overheating of the electric cord it is recommended to unreel the whole electric cord, in case appliance is covered or inco- rrectly positioned there is a danger of re.
- Place the electric cord in such a way that it does not hamper the mo- vement of people and not to be stepped on! You must use approved11 ENGLISH connection blocks, which are suitable for the appliance, i.e., there is a sign of compliance.
- The electric cord must not be in touch with the hot parts of the appliance.
- You must never move the appliance by pulling it by its electric cord. You must never use the electric cord for moving of other objects.
- Do not reel the electric cord round the appliance!
- Do not use the appliance with its electric cord reeled-this is also valid if a cable drum is used.
- CAUTION: Some of the appliance parts may get very hot during operation and this cause burns to users. In case there are children and vulnerable people in the room, special attention should be paid.
- Do not use the fan heater for laundry drying.
- The appliance must be placed so that its control switches are not in the hand-range of persons using bath or shower.
- Do not use the appliance in rooms smaller than 4 square meters.
- The heater must not be located immediately below an electrical socket outlet.
- Do not run cord under carpeting and do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners or the like. Arrange cord away from trac area and where it will not be tripped over.
- WARNING: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature.
- CAUTION: Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
- There may be trace of odour during the rst few minutes of initial use. This is normal and will quickly disappear.
- WARNING: Do not cover the appliance. If the appliance is covered there is danger of overheating.
- The heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surface.
- NOTE: ‘This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use.’

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

- This appliance does not require any special assembly.
- The air inlets and outlets of the appliance must never be covered or hampered!
- The appliance is intended to be used over horizontal oor! It is forbidden to be mounted on wall or ceiling!
- You must never place the appliance below socket outlets.
- The appliance is not suitable to be used in a bathroom. OPERATION
- Turn the thermostat switch clockwise (to the right) until it gets to its nal position.
- Summer service (ventilation only): turn the switch to position
- Reduced power heating: Turn the switch (to the right) to setting (1000W)
- Full power heating: turn the switch (to the right) to setting (2000W)
- Turn-o: Turn the switch (to the left) to setting O.
- Adjustment of the heating controller: When the room temperature gets to its desired condition you should turn the right -hand switch of the heating controller in counter-clockwise direction to position in which the appliance turns o but not more than that. The adjusted that way temperature will be automatically regulated and kept at a permanent level by the heating controller.
- You must rst turn o the appliance and disconnect its plug from the socket. Do not use abrasive detergents!
- Clean the body with wet cloth, vacuum cleaner or a brush!
- You must never submerge the appliance under water-there is life danger.
- If the appliance should not be used for a certain period of time it must be secured from excessive dirt and dust by placing it in its original package.
- You must never place the hot appliance in its package! Note: Fan heater has in-built safety device that will turn it o in case of accidental overheating (for example blocking of the inlet and outlet grating, slow rotation or no rotation of the motor). In order to restart the fan heater, you must disconnect the plug from the socket for a few minutes (10- 30). Remove the cause for the overheating and then turn the appliance on again.
