IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions. Important: This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or with a lack of experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and the risks involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when the appliance is in use. Never touch these surfaces and make use of the handle. The appliance must be heated by its heating element only. Make sure the hot parts of the appliance never come into contact with inflammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc. when it is in use, as a fire might occur. Switch off and unplug the appliance when not in use. Only cook consumable food. Provide proper ventilation when using the appliance. Do not cover the appliance with anything. Be extremely cautious as oil and fat preparations might catch fire if overheated. Your appliance should never be operated via an external timer or a separated remote control system. Please note: Should the symbol be indicated on a certain surface, you need to be careful when handling the product. This symbol means: CAUTION, this surface may get very hot during use. metallic or non-metallic surfaces can also become very hot during use and it is therefore advisable to always handle them with care and if possible with the help of isothermal gloves or other thermal protection. In case of doubt concerning the temperature of a certain surface it is always preferable to protect oneself. (*) Competent qualified electrician: after-sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In case of need you should return the appliance to this electrician.

• Clean the grill (cf. "Cleaning and care"). It is recommended to heat up the appliance for about 10 minutes without any foodstuff in order to eliminate the grease that may have adhered during manufacture and the “new” smell.

• Ventilate the room during this period. OPERATION

• Close the appliance and plug into the electrical outlet.

• Select the cooking time using the timer knob. The pilot light will come on, indicating that the appliance is heating.

• Preheat the cooker to reach the ideal cooking temperature. When the appliance reaches the temperature, the pilot light will go out. The pilot light goes on and off while the appliance is working to indicate that the temperature is maintained.

• Attention: during operation, the baking plates heat up. Pay attention not to get burned.

USING THE APPLIANCE IN CLOSED MODE

• When the appliance has reached the temperature, open the appliance and lightly brush the bottom baking plate with butter, margarine or cooking oil. Since the appliance has a non-stick coated surface, the use of butter or oil is optional.

• Now put the foodstuffs in the cooker and close the appliance again.

• The baking times vary according to the nature of the foodstuffs and to your personal taste.

USING THE APPLIANCE IN TABLE GRILL MODE

• If you want to use the appliance as a table grill and have a double cooking surface, open it completely. To do so, you just have to lift the lid a little bit when it is in vertical position and then open it further until the 2 cooking surfaces are horizontal.

• When the appliance has reached the temperature, open the appliance completely and lightly brush the baking plates with butter, margarine or cooking oil. Since the appliance has a non-stick coated surface, the use of butter or oil is optional.

• Now put the foodstuffs onto the grill.

• The baking times vary according to the nature of the foodstuffs and to your personal taste.

• When baking is finished, turn the button to the “0” position and disconnect the cooker. Leave it open so that the baking plates can cool down. PRACTICAL HINTS

• Frozen food should always be thawed before it is baked.

• Never scratch the special non-stick coating since it would lose its non-adhesive properties. Use a wooden spatula or a heat-resistant plastic spatula.

• Before cleaning, put the timer in 0 position and make sure that the plug has been removed from the mains supply socket.

• Allow the appliance to cool down thoroughly.

• Wipe the outside only with a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling slots.

• Wipe the inside and the edges of the plate with a paper towel or a soft cloth.

• Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this will damage the finish.

• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
