USER MANUAL TKG JK 1200 KALORIK

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions.

Important: This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or with a lack of experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and the risks involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. Never leave the appliance and its cord unsupervised and within reach of children less than 8 years old or irresponsible persons, especially when it is plugged into the wall or when it is cooling down.

From time to time check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. FIELD OF APPLICATION/OF OPERATION

BEFORE THE FIRST OPERATION

For the perfect taste, operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the process 3 times with fresh water, before rinsing.

OPERATION

• Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it.
- Raise the lid and fill the tank with fresh water paying attention not to fill under the "MIN" mark and above the "MAX" mark in the kettle. You can see the level thanks to the transparent water level indicator.
- Close the lid by pressing it down until you hear a click. Make sure it closes correctly.
- Put the jug onto the power base, plug into the wall socket and switch on. The pilot light will come on. If it does not come on, check if the jug kettle is placed correctly on its base. If the problem persists, contact the nearest customer service.
- The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling. However, you can switch it off anytime by pressing the on/off switch.
- For instant reboiling, wait until the water has cooled down and switch on the appliance again.

SAFETY CUT-OUT

  • This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device which switches the appliance off if it is accidentally switched on without water.
  • In this case, put the switch in off position and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then fill the jug kettle with cold water. This will reset the safety device.
  • The kettle may then be used as normal.
    • Should the problem persist, please contact the nearest customer service.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.

  • To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
    • To remove scale from the inner walls and from the filter you can use a soft brush.
  • Never use abrasive products.
  • On no account must the jug kettle or its power base be immersed in water.

Filter

  • Your appliance is provided with a filter. When you want to boil water, settle the filter first.
  • The filter should be rinsed clean regularly.

Descaling

To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose. Make sure to use a type recommended for plastic kettles and follow the product's instruction manual carefully.
