Before using the device

After you unpack the device and before each use, check the article for damages. Should it be damaged, do not use the article and contact your retailer.

The operating instructions are based on the standards and rules applicable within the European Union. Please also heed the guidelines and laws of your country!

Before first use, read the safety instructions and the operating instructions carefully. This ensures safe and reliable use of all the BBQ's functions.

Keep the operating instructions and give them to any third party who might own the BBQ after you.

It is intended exclusively for private use.

Use the article only as described in these operating instructions. Every other type of use is inappropriate and can lead to property damage or even personal injury.

The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages due to inappropriate use.

Safety instructions

– Before first use, check that the type of current and supply voltage comply with the data on the rating plate.

- This device is an electric BBQ for domestic use and is not intended for industrial or professional use.

- Do not use the device if it or the power cable is visibly damaged or if the device has been dropped.

- Connect the electric BBQ only to a power outlet with alternating current and a protective ground contact with a voltage of 230V / 50Hz. The minimum safety requirement for the electrical outlet is 10 ampere.

- A residual current circuit breaker with a residual operating current not exceeding 30mA in the house circuit offers additional protection. Ask your electrician for advice.

– In case of damages or malfunctioning, disconnect the power plug from the outlet immediately.

- Dealing improperly with electricity can cause fatal consequences.

- Do not tug on the cord to unplug the device.

- Check the power cable and plug regularly for damages.

- Do not transport the device during use.

- If you operate the device on a table, make sure that the grill does not hang out past the edge of the table.

- Place the device on a heat-resistant surface.

- Keep flammable materials, such as textiles, away from the grill plate (4).

- Do not place any foods wrapped in plastic or aluminum foil on the grill when it is in use. This could damage the BBQ or cause a fire.

- Operate the device in a safe area, sufficiently far away from playing children or pets.

- Only use the included connection plug with this device. Do not connect any other plugs to this device. The included connection plug may not be used with other devices.

- Never attempt to repair the device yourself. In case of malfunction, have the device repaired only by qualified professionals. Do not open the housing under any circumstances. Danger due to electric shock!

- If the device's power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service to prevent risks.

- Avoid damage to the power cable through squashing, bending or scuffing on sharp edges and keep it away from hot surfaces.

- If you use an extension cable, it must be suitable for the required voltage.

- Arrange the cable and extension cable, should you need one, so that neither can be pulled or tripped over unintentionally.

- Never submerge the device in water or other liquids.

- Never touch the power cable with wet or moist hands.

- Operate the electric BBQ on an even, dry and nonslip surface.

- Do not place the device on mobile objects that the device could fall from.

- Do not insert any objects into the device's interior.

– Unplug the device after every use and before cleaning.

- Use only the accessories included with the device.

- Move the device only when it is cool.

- Do not place the device on hot surfaces. Do not store the device near hot devices – such as stove tops, fireplaces, etc.

- Never use this device near a bathtub, shower or a swimming pool.

- Do not operate the device in rooms where there are combustible liquids or gases.

- Do not set up the BBQ near entryways or in much-used areas.

- Always exercise extreme caution during grilling. Distraction could cause you to lose control of the device. Never leave the device unattended.

- Do not place any objects filled with liquid, such as vases, on the device.

- Use the device only in temperate regions. Use in the tropics and especially moist climates should be avoided.

- Do not place the device directly beneath a wall power outlet.

- Never use this device with a timer or a special remote control system.

Danger Risk of injury!

This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge.

- Inform this circle of people about the dangers the device poses and have them supervised by a person responsible for their safety.

- Any alterations to the product pose a great safety risk and are prohibited. Do not tamper with the device yourself. In case of damages, repairs or other problems with the device, contact our service point or consult a professional in your area.

- Keep children and pets away from the device.

– Never use the grill without the collection tray.

Danger Risk for children!

Children may become entangled with the packaging foil and suffocate if allowed to play with it.

- Do not allow children to play with packaging foils.

- Make sure that no children put small components in their mouth. They may swallow these parts and choke.

Danger Fire hazard!!

To prevent the device from overheating and causing a fire, the device may not be covered up.

- The device remains hot for some time even after being switched off. Take care not to burn yourself and do not place any objects on the grill. This poses a fire hazard.

Danger Risk of burning!!

This electric BBQ becomes very hot during use. To prevent burning, never touch the hot surfaces with your bare skin. Touch the device only on its heat-insulated handles (2).

- Keep a minimum distance of 1 m to flammable materials such as wallpaper, curtains and blinds.

- Be attentive at all times and pay attention to what you are doing. Do not use the device when you are lacking concentration or tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Just one instant of carelessness while using the product can lead to serious injuries.

Before first use

1. Clean the grill plate and collection tray as described under Cleaning and care.

2. Place the device on an even, dry and nonslip surface. The device is outfitted with nonslip rubber feet (1) to guarantee stable footing.

3. Use a heat-resistant surface when operating the device.

4. Insert the collection tray (3) into the device until it clicks into place.

5. Spread a thin layer of vegetable oil on the grill plate (4).

6. Turn the temperature knob counterclockwise to 0.

7. Connect the connection plug (7) on the temperature knob (8) to the jack (6) and the power plug (10) to an appropriate power outlet.

8. Set the temperature knob (8) to level 5. The indicator lamp (9) lights up and the device begins heating. Heating takes about 5 minutes. As soon as the device is heated, the indicator lamp goes out.

9. Let the device heat for about 10 minutes without foodstuffs to burn away production residue.

10. When used for the first time, a small amount of smoke and an odor may occur. This is a normal process caused by the burning of production residue. Both the smoke and the odor will vanish shortly. Make sure the room is sufficiently ventilated.

11. The device is ready for use.

Operation

1. Turn the temperature knob (8) to the desired setting. The temperature knob can be set from 0 (off) to 5 (maximum temperature). The indicator lamp (9) lights up while the device is heating. As soon as the set temperature is reached, the indicator lamp goes out. The indicator lamp turns on and off during use, indicating that the set temperature is being maintained.

2. The collection tray (3) catches excess grease and juices. Never use the BBQ without the collection tray.

3. The BBQ's handles (2) are heat-insulated. The BBQ becomes very hot and it is therefore recommended to use heat-resistant cooking mitts or potholders during grilling.

4. To place food on the grill, use long-handled cutlery made of wood or heat-resistant plastic. Cutlery made of metal may cause damage to the grill plate's nonstick coating.

5. Flip the food to be grilled from time to time and avoid letting it get too dark.

6. The grill is outfitted with a hot zone (5). The hot zone gets up to 260^ C and can be used to grill foods that need to be prepared quickly. The rest of the grill plate (4) can be used to prepare foods that need longer.

7. As soon as the food is finished being grilled, turn the temperature knob (8) to 0 and disconnect the power plug (10) from the outlet.

8. Remove the food from the BBQ with heat-resistant cutlery intended for nonstick coated dishes.

9. Let the device cool down for 20 minutes before moving it.

BBQing tips

Always flip food to be grilled with tongs or a BBQing spatula and never with a fork or other objects with sharp edges or points. They cause damage to the grill plate's nonstick coating.

Always preheat the grill plate. Do not place any food on the BBQ until the grill plate is sufficiently preheated. Use a low temperature setting to slowly grill delicate foods such as fish filets. Use a high temperature setting to sear meats and close its pores or to grill vegetables or a whole fish.

Meats are more tender when marinated overnight. Marinade is made from oil, to increase moisture, vinegar, to make meats tender, and a spice blend.

Flip fish and meats just once. Flipping more than once is unnecessary and will dry out the food to be grilled.

After use, turn off the device using the temperature knob and disconnect the power plug from the outlet. Let the device cool down well before moving or cleaning it.

Spread a little vegetable oil onto the grill plate using a paper towel from time to time to prevent foods from sticking to the surface.

Cleaning and care

Your BBQ is made of high-quality materials. To clean and care for the surfaces, please heed the following advice:

Danger Risk of burning!

Let the BBQ cool down completely before cleaning it.

Danger Health hazard!!

Do not use any solvents or thinners to remove spots. These are

hazardous to health and may not come into contact with food.

Caution Risk of damage!!

Do not use any strong or abrasive solvents or scouring pads

as they may attack surfaces and leave behind cleaning marks.

• Always turn the temperature knob (8) to 0 before every cleaning and disconnect the power plug from the outlet.
• Never submerge the BBQ in water or other liquids. While cleaning, take care that no water enters the device interior or comes into contact with current-carrying components.
• Wipe down the device's surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and then dry.
• Remove the collection tray from the device and empty it. Clean the collection tray with warm water and some dish soap.

• Wipe down the grill plate with a slightly damp and warm cloth. Use a little dish soap to more easily remove grease.

• Tough bits of food can be more easily removed if they are soaked in a little oil for a few minutes beforehand. Dab these areas with a paper towel soaked in a little vegetable oil. Wipe away the bits of food after about 5-10 minutes with a clean cloth.

• Dry all components carefully after cleaning before further use.
• For extended periods of disuse, store the device at a dry location shielded from dust and direct sunlight.
• IMPORTANT: Always shield the BBQ from moisture during storage.

Disposal

The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials that you can dispose of at your local recycling collection point.

Do not dispose of the device with your normal household waste! Dispose of it via an approved waste management service or at your communal waste management facility. Follow all current legislation. In case of doubt, contact your local waste management.
