Only use this appliance:
- For contact grilling, grilling, gratinating and keeping foods warm. under supervision.
- in private households and in enclosed spaces in a domestic environment at room temperature. up to an altitude of max. 2000 m above sea level.
After each use, whenever the appliance is unsupervised, prior to assembly, disassembly or cleaning and in the event of an error, it must always be disconnected from the mains.
This appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by people who have reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or inadequate experience and/or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the appliance safely and have understood the resulting dangers.
Do not let children play with the appliance.
Children must not perform cleaning or user maintenance unless they are at least 8 years old and are being supervised.
Keep children under the age of 8 years away from the appliance and power cable.
- Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.
- Connect the appliance to a power supply with alternating current only via a properly installed socket with earthing.
- The protective conductor system of the domestic electrical installation must be properly installed.
- Never equip the appliance with an external switching device, e.g. a timer or remote control.
- Repairs to the appliance should only be carried out by trained specialist staff.
- If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's Customer Service or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent any risk.
- Never immerse the appliance or the power cord in water or clean in the dishwasher.
- Do not use steam- or high-pressure cleaners to clean the appliance.
- Never let the power cord come into contact with hot parts or be dragged over sharp edges.

The appliance becomes hot during operation. Never touch the hot surfaces.
- During operation only the controls or the handle should be touched.
- Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning or transporting.
- To avoid injuries, only use the appliance for its intended purpose.
- Keep packaging material away from children.
- Do not let children play with packaging material.

Avoiding material damage
- Never switch on the grill without the grill plates in place.
- Do not use sharp, pointed or metal cutlery on the grill plates. Use grill utensils made of wood or plastic. Always place suitable containers under the grease drains, e.g., small bowls.
- Do not use cooking oil with a smoke point below 180°C, e.g., extra virgin olive oil, to avoid damage to the ceramic coating.
- Never continue to heat up the grill plates without food after the set grilling temperature has been reached.

You can remove the non-stick grill plates for thorough cleaning and put them in the dishwasher.

Preparing the appliance for first use
- Open the grill and plug in the mains plug.
- Make sure a window is open and allow the grill to heat up and cool down without food and at the highest temperature setting three times.
- After the grill has cooled down completely, clean the grill plates.
Note: Slight smoke or odour emission during initial use is normal.
Operation
General information
Please bear this information in mind so that you can get the best out of your appliance.
Before use, apply a small amount of cooking oil to the top sides of the grill plates. Use cooking oil with a high smoke point, such as refined sunflower oil. - Do not put any food on the grill plates until the preset temperature has been reached and the indicator light has gone out. Take the food out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before grilling and so allow them to reach room temperature. - Completely thaw and dry frozen foods before grilling. - Do not season meat and fish until after grilling. - Acrylamide is harmful to your health and is produced when you cook cereal and potato products at very high temperatures. Do not grill the food to the point where it is too dark; remove any burnt residues.

The food is grilled evenly from the bottom and top. The upper grill plate adjusts to the thickness of the food.

- Distribute the food across the two plates, turning it over as needed.

- Keep the food or pans and pots warm at a low temperature setting.

Tip: You can also keep food warm in the gratin position.

Care and maintenance
Never switch on the hob without having placed the pans on it. Do not use sharp metal objects on the hob. Use pans with a flat base. Always place suitable pans on the hob before switching it on. Do not use pans for frying with a temperature above 180°C, e.g., with extra virgin olive oil, to avoid damaging the ceramic surface. Do not leave the hob on without food in the pans.

For easy cleaning, you can remove the hob from the hob plate with a non-stick coating and wash it in the dishwasher.

Preparing the appliance for first use
- Remove the hob and switch on the circuit breaker.
- Open the grill grate at the highest temperature without food products and leave it to cool down.
- Once the grate has cooled down sufficiently, wipe the grate thoroughly.
Note: If smoke or fumes form during the first use, this is normal.
Maintenance
General instructions
Take the following instructions into account to use the appliance optimally.
Clean the top side of the grate with a damp cloth before use. - We recommend a high smoke point oil, e.g., refined sunflower oil. - Place the products on the grate only when the pre-set temperature has been reached and the control lamp has gone out. Take the food products out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before grilling and leave them to reach room temperature. Rinse and dry the frozen food products before grilling. - Turn the fish and meat once during grilling. - Cover the times for cooking, as smoke forms when cooking fatty food products with a lot of heat. Do not overcook the food products; remove the burnt remains.
