How to clean the cooking plates?

What oil to use for the grill?

Use a cooking oil with a high smoke point (e.g., refined sunflower oil). Avoid extra virgin olive oil which has a low smoke point (<180°C) and can damage the ceramic coating.

Can I grill frozen foods?

It is recommended to thaw completely frozen foods before grilling and dry them. This ensures even cooking and prevents the formation of acrylamide.

How to use the gratin position?

Place the food to be gratin on the grill and attach the top plate in gratin position (vertical). Set the temperature to a high value to gratin the top.

What to do if the power cord is damaged?

To avoid any danger, the cord must only be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service, or similarly qualified personnel. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

Can I leave the appliance unattended while operating?

Avoiding material damage

• Never switch on the grill without the grill plates in place.
• Do not use sharp, pointed or metal cutlery on the grill plates. Use grill utensils made of wood or plastic.
  Always place the grease pans under the grease drains.
• Do not use cooking oil with a smoke point below 180^ , e.g., extra virgin olive oil, to avoid damage to the ceramic coating.
• Never continue to heat up the grill plates without food after the set grilling temperature has been reached.

You can remove the non-stick grill plates for thorough cleaning and put them in the dishwasher.

Preparing the appliance for first use

1. Open the grill and plug in the mains plug.

2. Make sure a window is open and allow the grill to heat up and cool down without food and at the highest temperature setting three times.

3. After the grill has cooled down completely, clean the grill plates.

Note: Slight smoke or odour emission during initial use is normal.

Operation

General information

Please bear this information in mind so that you can get the best out of your appliance.

Before use, apply a small amount of cooking oil to the top sides of the grill plates.
Use cooking oil with a high smoke point, such as refined sunflower oil.
- Do not put any food on the grill plates until the preset temperature has been reached and the indicator light has gone out.
Take the food out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before grilling and so allow them to reach room temperature.
- Completely thaw and dry frozen foods before grilling.
- Do not season meat and fish until after grilling.
- Acrylamide is harmful to your health and is produced when you cook cereal and potato products at very high temperatures. Do not grill the food to the point where it is too dark; remove any burnt residues.

The food is grilled evenly from the bottom and top. The upper grill plate adjusts to the thickness of the food.

• Keep the food or pans and pots warm at a low temperature setting.

Tip: You can also keep food warm in the gratin position.
