The Parent unit is not waterproof and thus only suitable for indoor use. Power supply: The parent unit may be powered directly by the supplied rechargeable battery. This battery is already installed during the manufacturing process. Pull the insulating strip out of the parent unit to activate this battery. This battery is recharged by connecting one of the supplied power adaptors directly to the parent unit. Charging : As soon as the power adaptor is connected to the unit and a 230V wall socket, the battery will be charged.
- When using the unit for the first time, please charge the battery for at least 15 hours regardless of the indicator showing a fully charged battery.
- The charging circuit of the battery is controlled electronically. You may leave the parent unit onto the charger or leave the adaptor connected at all times, because there’s no risk of overload.
- However, when not using the set for a long period of time (>2 months), it’s recommended to remove the adaptor from the wall socket and the battery from the parent unit. When using the set again, you should first fully charge the battery. Table stand: The rear of the parent unit is provided with a table stand. Unfold this stand to place the parent unit on a table or cabinet. Home 3 INSTALLATION
3.1 BABY UNIT: (CAMERA)
The baby unit is not waterproof and thus only suitable for indoor use. Power adaptor:
1. Connect one of the supplied
power adaptors with the input at the rear of the baby unit.
2. Insert the adaptor into a 230V
wall socket. Only use the supplied power adaptor. Make sure the baby cannot touch the cable. Place the baby unit at least 1 to 2 metres away from the baby and bundle excessive cable length with tape or cable-ties available specically for this purpose. Table model or wall model: You can place the baby unit on a table, cabinet or desk or you can mount it onto a wall. Wall-mounting: Drill two holes in the wall, next to each other at a distance of 3.7 cm from each other, and insert plugs and screws. Make sure to let the screws protrude for several millimetres. Suspend the baby unit by sliding the cut-outs in the camera support over the screws and pressing the baby unit somewhat downward. Finally, neatly tuck away the adaptor cable with cable-ties. Placement tips:
- When used as a baby phone: place the baby unit at least 1-2 metres away from your baby and make sure to safely tuck away the adaptor cable.
- It’s recommended to place the baby unit as high as possible and away from large metal surfaces; this ensures an optimal range.
- Don’t connect the adaptor cable at the rear too tight. Allow for sufficient cable length to ensure that the camera won’t be impeded when moving. 1-2 meter41 4 OPERATION

- Thoroughly read the user’s manual and follow all indications.
- Never place the baby unit or parent unit in wet or humid room or environment.
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation; never cover the parent unit, the baby unit and/or the power adapter(s) and never place them directly next to a heat source.
- Only use the supplied adapter(s); connecting a different type of adapter will damage the electronics.
- Make sure the adapter cables are free of any damage and ensure nobody can trip or fall because of these cables.
- Never dismantle the parent unit, the baby unit and/or the power adapter(s); only qualified personnel is authorized to do so.
- Never rotate the camera by hand; this might damage the engine. Only move the camera using the control panel on the parent unit.

- Never install the DVM-700 during thunder storms.
- Never touch any non-isolated adapter cables, unless the adapters are removed from the wall socket.

If the connection is not re-established within 30 seconds, the warning “Unable to connect, ensure the monitor is turned on and within range” will appear.
- The display will switch back on as soon as the parent unit is receiving the signal again from the baby unit.
6.4 DELAY IN IMAGES AND SOUND:
- The baby unit transmits the images and sounds to the parent unit in small digital blocks. The parent unit converts these signals into recognizable images and a clear sound. This is why there’s a small delay in between the movement and sounds of the baby and what can be seen/heard via the parent unit.
- Also the sound and images on the parent unit are not exactly synchronised.
- Baby unit: The baby unit is powered only by the power adaptor and is not provided with an internal battery for mobile use.
- Parent unit: The parent unit is powered by a rechargeable 3.7V Lithium-Polymer battery which can power the parent unit for 6 to 7 hours. In the upper right part of the display the battery status is indicator: battery full (battery colour is green) battery 3/4 full (battery colour is green) battery 1/2 full (battery colour is yellow) battery 1/4 full (battery colour is red) battery nearly empty (battery outline ashes in red) while alert tones are emitted; the parent unit will switch off after approx. 30 minutes. Please immediately connect the adaptor battery is being charged It takes approx. 6 hours to recharge an empty battery. Charging is faster when the parent unit is switched off.
6.6 INTERFERENCE-FREE:
- This baby display monitor is digitally coded. This means you will never receive signals from other devices, nor can the signal from your baby unit(s) be received by e.g. your neighbors.
- In case the baby unit(s) or parent unit is placed in or in the close vicinity of electromagnetic fields, the signal (images or sound) can be slightly affected. If this happens, try a different location for the baby unit(s) or parent unit or move, if possible, the source of the interference.
- The baby display monitor has a range of up to 300 meters in an open field and up to 50 meters indoors; this range depends on local circumstances. When the units get out of range from each other, the image will first ‘freeze’ for several seconds (no motion) followed by the ‘Lost Link’ notification (see also paragraph 6.3) while the unit emits alert tones.48
