USER MANUAL CTOKT6300 BLACK & DECKER
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: ❑ Read all instructions. ❑ Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. ❑ To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or any non- removable parts of this oven in water or other liquid. ❑ Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. ❑ Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts. ❑ Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. This will cause overheating of the oven. ❑ To stop toasting, baking or broiling function, press the STOP button. ❑ Use extreme caution when removing tray or disposing of hot grease. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. GROUNDED PLUG As a safety feature, this product is equipped with a grounded plug, which will only fit into a three-prong outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. Improper connection of the grounding conductor may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. ELECTRICAL CORD a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. c) If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding-type 3-wire cord, and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the

Digital Display Window Lets you monitor cooking time, temperature and toast settings Preheats and cooks to set temperature Sets bagel shade level to light, medium or dark. In both modes, you see a blinking 4 (the preset toast shade level) and four bars on the digital display. The ON indicator light blinks for 5 seconds. Important: You have only 5 seconds to press . If do not press , the digital display goes back to the time of day and the ON indicator light goes out. You will have to restart the routine.
5. Use and to select desired toast/bagel shade level (from 1 to 7). For best
results, select the medium setting (4) for your first cycle, then adjust lighter or darker to suit your taste.
6. After you press , ON indicator light becomes steady and the toast cycle begins. The
selected toast shade setting blinks throughout the toasting cycle.
7. Once toasting cycle is finished, you hear 5 short beeps. The ON indicator light goes out and the
digital display changes to the time of day. Note: For your convenience, the unit will remember the last programmed toast setting.
8. Open oven door and using an oven mitt or pot holder, slide out the rack to remove bread or
bagels. Caution: The unit is hot. Do not let any part of your skin touch any surface. BAKING Note: The oven will automatically preheat to the temperature you set for baking.
1. Press . The digital display shows BAKE and flashes 350°F (180°C). The On indicator
light blinks for 5 seconds. Important: You have only 5 seconds to press . If you do not press , the digital display goes back to the time of day and the ON indicator light goes out. You will have to restart the routine.
2. To set desired temperature:
- For Celsius, press then use and to change in increments of 10°.
- For Fahrenheit, press then use and to change it in increments of 25°.
3. Once you select desired temperature, if you want to preset baking time, press .
For 5 seconds, digital display shows blinking 1:00 (default time) and BAKE TIMER. Use and to change default time (1:00) until it reaches desired baking time. Note: You can program the timer for up to 2 hours. Important: You have only 5 seconds to press or . If you do not press or , the digital display goes back to the time of day and the ON indicator light goes out. You will have to restart the routine.
4. Press . The digital display starts blinking LO then Preheat.
5. Open oven door. The oven beeps.
6. Place bake pan (drip tray) or pizza pan containing food on the slide rack (see Cooking Chart for
recommended rack positions).
7. Close oven door. The oven will beep at 1-minute interval and the ON indicator light keeps
blinking to signal that you MUST press again to activate the baking function. Important: Every time you open the oven door, you must press to activate the baking function. If you do not press , the ON indicator light keeps blinking and the oven beeps signaling that the Bake function is not active and the oven is not heating.
8. After you press , the ON indicator light becomes steady and digital display keeps
blinking LO then Preheat until oven reaches set temperature. The Oven then beeps and digital display blinks between set temperature and set baking time. The Timer starts countdown to set baking time.
How to Use This product is for household use only. GETTING STARTED
- Remove packing materials and any stickers. Peel off clear protective film from electronic control panel.
- Wash all parts as instructed in Care and Cleaning.
- Select a location for the unit. Leave some space between the back of the unit and your counter to allow heat to flow without damaging counter space.
1. Plug unit into a standard wall outlet. 12:00 flashes on the digital display.
2. Press . Use and to set the time of day.
Tip: To speed up the time sequence, press and hold the control.
3. Once you reach the correct time, press .
Note: If power is interrupted, you will need to set the time again.
The slide rack must be used for all cooking functions. It may be inserted in either the upper or lower rack slot. It can also be inverted for two additional positions (C).

Note: The toasting time and temperature are preset and cannot be adjusted.
2. Place up to 6 slices of bread or 6 bagel halves on the slide rack. It is not necessary to preheat
the oven for toasting. Note: For best performance, use rack positions 2 and 3 (C).
9. Once the baking cycle is finished, the unit shuts off automatically.
Note: For your convenience the oven will remember the last programmed temperature and time settings.
10. Open the oven door and using an oven mitt or pot holder, slide out the rack to remove the
food. Caution: The unit is hot. Do not let any part of your skin touch any surface. BROILING Note: Broiling temperature is preset. You do not need to preheat the oven.
1. Press . For 5 seconds, the ON indicator light blinks and digital display shows BRL
with 3 blinking bars.
2. If you want to preset broiling time, press . For 5 seconds, digital display shows blinking
1:00 (default time) and BRL TIMER. Use and to change default time (1:00) until it reaches desired broiling time. Note: You can program the timer for up to 2 hours. Important: You have only 5 seconds to press . If do not press , the digital display goes back to the time of day and the ON indicator light goes out. You will have to restart the routine.
3. After you press , the ON indicator light becomes steady. Set broiling time and TIMER
blink on the digital display.
4. Open oven door. Oven beeps.
5. Place food on the broil rack set in the bake pan (drip tray).
6. Place bake pan on the slide rack at least 2 inches from heating element.
7. Close oven door. Digital display shows blinking bars and BRL. The oven will beep at 1-minute
interval to signal that you MUST press again to activate the broiling function. Important: Every time you open the oven door, you must press to activate the broiling function. If you do not press , the oven keeps beeping signaling that the broiling function is not active.
8. After you press , the preset broiling time keeps blinking. Timer starts countdown to
broiling time. At :00 you will hear 5 short beeps, the On indicator light goes out and the display changes to the time of day. The unit shuts off automatically. Note: For your convenience the oven will remember the last programmed temperature and time settings.
9. Open oven door and using an oven mitt or pot holder, slide out the rack to remove the food.
Caution: The unit is hot. Do not let any part of your skin touch any surface. CONVECTION COOKING
Note: Use only with the Bake function.
- To turn on the fan for convection cooking, after you press , press and . The digital display shows CONV. Important:
- You must select the Convection function right after you select Bake. You cannot select it in the middle of the baking cycle.
- Every time you open the oven door, you must press to activate the Convection function.
- Follow package or recipe direction for time conversion. As a general rule, foods should be baked in convection at 25 degrees lower. Watch cooking time as many foods will bake in less time. Care and Cleaning This product contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.
1. Turn off unit, unplug from wall outlet and let it cool before cleaning.
2. Clean the glass door with a nylon pad and sudsy water. Do not use a spray glass
3. To remove slide rack, open the door, pull the rack forward and out. Wash in warm,
sudsy water or in a dishwasher. To remove stubborn spots, use a polyester or nylon pad. To replace the slide rack, open the door completely and slide into the rail and close the door.
4. Wash the bake pan (drip tray), broil rack and pizza pan in warm, sudsy water or in the
dishwasher. To minimize scratching, use a polyester or nylon pad. Note: Bake pan (drip tray) is not nonstick.
5. To remove the crumb tray, grasp the handle at the front of the oven and pull it out.
Dispose of crumbs and wash the tray in warm, sudsy water. Remove stubborn spots with a nylon mesh pad. Be sure to dry thoroughly before inserting the tray back into the oven. Nonstick Coating
1. Unplug the oven and let it cool, then wipe with a soapy sponge or nylon pad after
pads as they may harm the coating. Dry with paper towel or soft cloth. Exterior Let the oven cool completely before cleaning any outer surface. Wipe with a damp cloth or sponge and dry with paper towel or soft cloth. Cooking Containers Metal, ovenproof glass or ceramic bakeware without glass lids can be used in your oven.
