What items can I clean with the KUC 2221?

You can clean jewelry (gold, silver, metal), coins, pens, glasses (except polycarbonate lenses), toothbrushes, dentures, razor heads, CD/DVD. Avoid wood, pearls, leather, and watch mechanisms.

How to use the Koenic KUC 2221 ultrasonic cleaner?

Place the items in the tank, fill with water up to the MAX mark, close the lid, plug in, press POWER, select the time with TIMER, then press ON. The cleaning stops automatically.

Can I use detergent?

Yes, you can add a few drops of detergent for deeper cleaning. Read the detergent instructions and follow safety guidelines.

What is the recommended cleaning time?

The preset times are: 1:30 min (lightly soiled), 3:00 min (normal), 4:30 min (first wash), 6:00 min (multiple items), 7:30 min (deep cleaning). Adjust according to dirtiness.

How to clean the KUC 2221?

Unplug the device. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Empty the tank after each use and wipe it dry. Never immerse electrical parts.

What to do if the device does not work?

This product is designed to be used as an ultrasonic cleaner. It removes dirt efficiently from many kinds of objects in a gentle way with ultrasonic waves. Using it for anything else can damage the device or cause injury. Before first time use

Carefully remove the product and accessories from the original packaging. It is recommended to keep the original packaging for storage. If you wish to dispose of the original packaging, please observe applicable legal provisions. Should you have any questions regarding proper disposal, contact your local waste management center.

Inspect the delivery contents for completeness and damages. Should the delivery contents be incomplete or damaged, contact your sales outlet immediately.

Tips:

• Dry spectacle lenses after cleaning with a soft cloth. Streaks occur if the lenses are allowed to dry in the air.
• Shiny surfaces should be polished afterwards.

Time Intervals

There are 5 default time intervals preset:

Time Recommended for:
1:30 min	Very light levels of dirt or if a short period of re-cleaning is required
3:00 min	Normal level of dirt
4:30 min	First cleaning of objects that have not been cleaned for a long time
6:00 min	First cleaning when several objects are cleaned together
7:30 min	To increase the effectiveness of the cleaning.

Cleaning Methods

- General Cleaning

Use normal tap water for general cleaning (the water should completely cover the item to be cleaned, although the maximum filling height should not be exceeded).

- Basic Cleaning

Cleaning concentrates can be used to intensify the cleaning effect of the product. Fill the stainless steel container with water, which is, depending on how soiled the to be cleaned objects are, dosed with multiple drops of detergent.

Note

Please note the information provided by the washing-up manufacturer on the pack.

- Partial Cleaning

For the partial cleaning of large objects please use the product with the lid open.

Note

During operation avoid contact with the liquid! Ultrasound is harmful to skin and bones.

Operation

Ultrasonic cleaning without inserts

Fig. 1 Place the product on an even and stable surface and plug in the power plug.
Fig. 2 Put the to be cleaned object into the stainless steel container. Fill the container with water. The object must be covered by water, but ensure that it does not exceed the Max. marking of the container. Consider one of the methods mentioned in Cleaning Methods.

Note

During the cleaning process a quiet vibration noise can be heard; this is caused by the cleaning process.

Note

• You can repeat the cleaning process in order to intensify the cleaning effect.
• In order to avoid lime residues, always empty the stainless steel container and wipe dry with a cloth. We recommend that the liquid should be renewed after every cleaning process.

• Use the basket, if you clean sensitive and small objects. Put the item to be cleaned in the basket. You can clean several items together in one cleaning procedure. But ensure that the items do not touch each another in order to avoid scratches.
• Place the filled basket in the product and fill in water. The water must cover the items but not exceed the Max marking.
• Start the cleaning process as described in chapter Cleaning without inserts.

Note

The basket insert absorbs some of the ultrasonic waves and therefore reduces the cleaning performance. It may therefore be necessary to carry out several cleaning procedures.

• Hang the watch on the watch holder and ensure the watch mechanism housing sits above the surface of the liquid. If the watch mechanism is in the liquid, it may be damaged during the cleaning process by the ultrasonic waves.
• Start the cleaning process as described in the chapter Cleaning without inserts.

• Insert a CD or DVD into the supplied CD holder. Fill the product with water. 2 CDs or DVDs can be cleaned at the same time by using the ring as a spacer.
• Start the cleaning process as described in the chapter Cleaning without inserts.

Cleaning and care

Warning!

• When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and tools may scratch the surface(s).

• Never immerse any electrical parts of the product in water or in other liquids during cleaning. Never place it under running water.

• Clean the product's exterior surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and then dry them thoroughly.
  • Make sure that no water enters the product interior (for example, through the switch).

• Keep the product in a dry, cool location which is protected against moisture and direct sunlight. Keep this product out of the reach of children.
