Induction cooking plate /

Risk of burning! Do not touch the product's hot surfaces. Heat rises from the product during use.

Caution! Hot surface!

  • This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are being supervised or have been instructed concerning the usage of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be carried out by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the product and its power supply cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
  • Children shall not play with the product.
  • A damaged power cord may only be replaced by the authorised service agent in order to avoid hazards.
  • Warning - If the surface is cracked, switch off the product to avoid the possibility of electric shock.
  • Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the hob surface since they can get hot.

  • Read this user manual thoroughly before first use and pass it on with the product. Pay attention to the warnings on the product and in this user manual. It contains important information for your safety as well as for the use and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Use the product only for its intended purpose and with recommended accessories and components. Improper use or wrong operation may lead to hazards.
  • Never leave the product unsupervised while it is switched on.
  • Do not place any objects on top of the product.
  • Never immerse electrical parts of the product in water or other fluids during cleaning or operation. Never hold the product under running water.
  • Do not under any circumstances attempt (e.g. damaged power cord, product has been dropped, etc.) to repair the product yourself. For servicing and repairs, please consult an authorised service agent.
  • The mains voltage must match the information on the rating label of the product.
    Only unplugging from the power socket can separate the product completely from the mains. Please be sure that the power plug is in operable condition.
  • Avoid damages to the power cord that may be caused by kinks or contact with sharp corners.
  • Keep this product including power cord and power plug away from all heat sources such as ovens, hot plates and other heat-producing products/objects.
  • Only unplug from the power socket by the plug itself. Do not pull on the cord.

- Warning: Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover the flames e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.
- Warning - Danger of fire: Do not store items on the cooking surfaces.
- Do not use a steam cleaner for cleaning!
After usage, switch off the product by its control and do not rely on the pan detector.
- Caution: The cooking process has to be supervised. A short term cooking process has to be supervised continuously.

Intended use

This product is designed for heating and cooking foods with pots/saucepans. Any other use may result in damage to product or injuries. The product is only intended to be used in private households and shall not be used for commercial purposes.

Before first time use

Remove the product and accessories carefully from the original packaging. It is recommended to keep the original packaging for storage. If you wish to dispose of the original packaging, please observe applicable legal provisions. Should you have any questions regarding proper disposal, contact your local waste management center.

Inspect the delivery contents for completeness and damages. Should the delivery contents be incomplete or damaged, contact your sales outlet immediately.

Cookware

Fig.1 Suitable cookware:

Only use pans and pots which are declared as suitable for induction cooking with a bottom diameter of 12 to 26~cm

Not suitable cookware:

  • Heat-resistant glass, ceramic, copper or aluminium cookware
    Cookware with curved bottoms or with feet
    Cookware with a diameter less than 12 cm.

Operation

Fig. 2 Place the Induction cooker on an even, stable and heat resistant surface. Keep a distance of at least 10cm to surrounding walls and other objects.
Fig.3 Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet. An acoustic signal sounds and the display shows shortly "88:88". The induction cooker is on standby mode now and "L" appears on the display.

Note: Afterwards "L" (cooking surface temperature < 50^ ) or "H" (cooking surface temperature >50^ ) will be displayed flashing.

Note: Ensure that the pot/saucepan is clean and dry on the outside.

Attention

The pot on the hob must not weigh more than 5kg in total.

Fig. 6 Choose power mode (Power) or temperature mode (Temp.) by pressing the Function button. The preset mode is indicated by a red LED.
Fig. 7 Choose the desired power (200 - 2000 W in 200 W steps) or temperature (60 - 240 °C in 20 °C steps) by pressing +/- buttons.

  • after approx. 10 seconds there is no setting
  • approx. 60 seconds after setting no suitable cookware is placed on the cooking plate.

Warning

Always unplug the product to ensure it is completely turned off.

Timer

Note: Using the timer function the induction cooking hob will automatically turn to standby after a preset time has elapsed. The min./max, adjustable times are 0:01 minute/3:00 hours.

To activate the timer press during cooking. The display shows 00:00 flashing.
The residual time can be set using the +/- buttons. With a single tap of the +/- button the value changes by 1 minute. Keep the +/- button pressed, the value changes quickly with 10 minutes increments.
Press timer button again to confirm the set value.

Note: If the timer is activated the display alternatingly shows the residual time and the preset temperature or power level. After the preset time has elapsed the induction cooking hob will be switched to standby and the display shows a blinking H.

Note: The residual time can be changed when the timer is activated. Press the timer button and change the time with +/- buttons. Press the timer button again to confirm.

Keep warm function

Fig.11 Press the Keep-warm button to keep the food warm at 60^ . After use press the ON/Standby button to turn the product to standby.

Note: The keep warm function can be used together with the timer.

Key Lock

The cooktop can be locked against unintentional use (e.g. as child protection). If the lock is activated all control buttons except the on/off switch are locked.

Residual heat indicator

Fig.13 The induction cooking plate has a residual heat indicator. If the cooking plate is off but still hot, H is shown in each power level display. The display shows L when the cooking plate cooled down to a safe temperature.

Cleaning and care

Warning

When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and tools may scratch the surface(s).

Fig. 15 Clean the product's exterior surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and then dry them thoroughly. Make sure that no water enters the product interior (e.g. through the fan openings).

Troubleshooting

If there are any problems during operation, please refer to the following table. If the problems cannot be solved as indicated under Solution, please contact your manufacturer.

The LED does not come on when unit is plugged in.No power supplied • Check to see if plug is secured tightly in outlet and that outlet is working.
Heating stops suddenly during operation and hear a beep every second.Pan type is wrong. • Use a proper pot (refer to the instruction manual.)

E2/E4/E5/EB Failure of the temperature sensor• Switch off the product and contact the authorized service.

Noise during operation

Because of the induction technology, following noises can occur during operation:

Noise Meaning
Humming Caused by induction and increases when the power is set on higher level.
Crackle Caused by vibration of the cookware bottom during heating
Fan noise The fan protects the product from overheating. The noise increases with the power level. After turning off the product, the fan will still operate for some minutes to cool down the product.

Energy saving

In order to reduce total environmental impact (e.g. energy use) of the cooking process, please consider the following hints:

  • Place the cookware in the middle of the cooking zone before switch on the product.
  • When cooking always cover the cookware with a lid.
  • When boiling water, only boil the required quantity of water.
    Always use the lowest possible temperature for cooking.
  • Turn off the product in time and make use of residual heat.
