Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
  • Switch off and remove the adapter from the wall socket

  • after use,

  • in case of any malfunction during use,

  • before cleaning the appliance.

  • Do not leave the appliance unattended.

  • Caution: the trimming blade is extremely sharp; to prevent injuries, ensure that at all times during use the blade does not touch the skin.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Hair trimmer

Connection to the mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the adapter.

Charging process

Before using the appliance for the first time the battery must be fully charged for a period of approximately 10 hours. However, the appliance can remain on charge for a longer period without damage or danger.

Should you experience a considerable decrease in trimming performance, switch off the appliance and recharge the battery. The hair trimmer may also be used by means of the adapter. In this case, however, the battery must be briefly charged for approximately 10 minutes. The charging process starts only once the unit is switched off and is visible by the charge indicator.

  • Insert the connecting plug of the adapter into the corresponding jack on the charging base.
  • Ensure that the hair trimmer is switched off and placed into the charging base.
  • Insert the adapter into a suitable wall socket. The charging process begins automatically and is visible by the charge indicator. The charge indicator remains lit as long as the charging base is connected to the mains power.

The charging process only starts if the unit has been switched off.

  • Once the charging process is complete, always remove the adapter from the wall socket first before disconnecting the jack from the charging base.
  • The battery can also be recharged by inserting the connecting plug of the adapter directly into the connecting jack on the hair trimmer.
  • Whilst charging, the transformer within the adapter will become warm. This is perfectly normal and safe and does not indicate a malfunction of any kind.
  • If the appliance has not been used for a

long period of time, the capacity of the battery may decrease by a certain amount. However, full capacity will be restored after several charging/discharging cycles.

Use

Adjusting the cutting length

The push-on attachment comb supplied allows for a step-by-step cutting length adjustment between 4 - 20mm . The cutting length can be gradually adjusted in 7 positions by using the adjustment slide control; to adjust, simply press the adjustment slide control button and select the desired cutting length. The following lengths can be selected: 4mm , 7mm , 9mm , 12mm , 15mm , 17mm , 20mm .

To remove the attachment comb, set the adjustment slide control to its lowest position and pull the attachment comb off.

Operation

Before each use, always put a few drops of acid-free oil between the trimming comb and the trimming blade.
- Always start with the largest setting of the push-on comb.
- The hair should first be combed, and then generally cut against its natural direction.
- For longer hair-cuts use the push-on comb or a normal comb.
- Cut from bottom to top with the trimming comb lying against the head; lead the appliance upwards through the hair, moving it gradually away from the head at the same time.
- For a shaped cut, reverse the appliance and shorten the hair from top to bottom without using the push-on comb.

Removing the batteries

  • The batteries can be taken out after one half of the housing has been removed. Use a small screwdriver to loosen the screws, then cut the terminal wires one

by one, but take special care that the terminals are not short-circuited by mistake.

Nose hair trimmer

Battery

A decrease in operating speed indicates that the battery needs to be replaced.

During extended periods of non-use, always remove the battery from its compartment.

Battery replacement:

  • Slide the battery compartment cover downwards and take it off.
  • Insert one "AA"-type battery. The use of rechargeable batteries will result in a reduced operating speed, as the operating voltage has a lower rating. When inserting the battery, always ensure correct polarity: the battery terminals must be aligned in accordance with the diagram shown in the instruction manual and battery compartment.
  • Replace the battery compartment cover and slide it upwards until it is heard locking into place.

Use

  • Switch the nose hair trimmer on.
  • Insert the trimming head carefully into the nose and cut the access hair.
  • Switch the nose hair trimmer off.

Care and Cleaning

  • It is essential to switch off the last used appliance and then remove the adapter from the wall socket before cleaning and oiling.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, the appliance and the adapter must not be immersed in liquid or even allowed to come into contact with liquid.
  • If necessary, the exterior surfaces of the charging base, hair trimmer and nose hair trimmer may be wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth.

Hair trimmer

Trimming comb and trimming blade

After each use, use the cleaning brush to remove the hair between the trimming comb and the trimming blade.
- The trimming comb and trimming blade can be removed for occasional thorough cleaning, or for replacement. To remove, push the comb and blade assembly gently away from the appliance.
Before use, and also each time after the appliance has been used for approx. 15 minutes, put a few drops of acid-free oil between the trimming comb and the trimming blade and then switch the appliance briefly on to ensure that the oil is well and evenly distributed. Regular oiling will guarantee good cutting performance over a long period and thus a long service life.
- When the appliance is not in use, put the protective cover over the trimming comb.

Nose hair trimmer

  • The trimming head can be cleaned with a suitable cleaning brush. If necessary (e.g. for thorough cleaning), the trimming head attachment may be removed by turning it anti-clockwise and lifting it off. Carefully remove the trimming insert and clean it with the cleaning brush. Caution - danger of injury: the blades are extremely sharp.

After cleaning, replace the trimming insert to the trimming head attachment, place the attachment onto the drive unit and secure it by turning it in clockwise direction.
