2 Safety instructions

Please read these instructions thoroughly before you use the device and keep them for future reference.

• Only for indoor use.
• Do not use the product in a damp environment or near water.
• Do not expose the product to extremely high or low temperatures, strong light sources or direct sunlight.
• This product is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.
• Connect the adapter to the mains only after you have verified that the line voltage corresponds to the value specified on the type plates.
• Never connect a power adapter if it's damaged. In such cases, please contact your supplier.
• Disconnect the AC/DC power adapter from the mains when this device is not in use for prolonged time.
• Never open the product: the device may contain parts with deadly voltage.
• Repairs or service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
• Improper use, self-installed modifications or repairs will void any and all warranties.
• Vogel's does not accept any product responsibility for incorrect use of the product or use other than for which the product is intended.

3.1 Introduction

Congratulations on the purchase of your Vogel's SAVA 1031! This converter converts a digital Toslink audio signal into a digital Coaxial audio signal (or vice versa). As a result, it allows you to easily and quickly connect your Audio Source to your Audio Amplifier.

Vogel's products are manufactured with the utmost care and are exceptionally high quality. Please read this manual carefully and follow the instructions in order to get the best from this product.

4 Advantages

• Converter changes a digital Toslink audio signal into a digital Coaxial audio signal (or vice versa).
• Ideal if your Audio Source has a different audio digital output than your Audio Amplifier, for example.
• Amplifies the digital audio signal and thus extends the maximum cable length (optical/coaxial)
• Supports the most common 2 to 5.1 channel digital audio signals.
• The digital audio signal provided is simultaneously reproduced on both outputs (both Toslink and Coaxial).

5 Getting started

5.1 Installation

Note:

• We recommend that you switch off your equipment before connecting cables in order to prevent any of the devices being damaged.
• At all times, avoid bending the optical (Toslink) cable as it is very delicate.

1. Connect the Audio Source to one of the digital audio inputs [1] on the SAVA 1031 using the optical or coaxial audio cable.

2. Connect the Audio Amplifier to one of the digital audio outputs [2] on the SAVA 1031 using the optical or coaxial audio cable.

3. Connect the power adapter [3] and plug into the electrical socket.
4. Use the switch [4] to select which digital audio input (Coaxial or Optical) is connected to the SAVA 1031.
5. Switch your device on and check that the audio connection works.

6 Usage

If the audio connection does not work (properly), consult the instructions for the Audio Source and/or the Audio Amplifier for the correct settings.

9.2 Recycling
