Frequently Asked Questions - SBCHC130 PHILIPS

What should I do if there's no sound?
Check that the AC adapter is properly plugged in and the transmitter is powered on. Ensure the headphone batteries are charged and the audio source is turned on and at a sufficient volume. Use the supplied HC132 transmitter, as some third-party transmitters may be incompatible.
How to resolve sound distortion?
Distortion can be caused by low batteries, excessive volume, too great a distance from the transmitter, or interference (neon lamps, other IR sources). Replace the batteries, reduce the volume, move closer to the transmitter, or relocate the setup.
What is the maximum range of the headphone?
The maximum range is 7 meters in direct line of sight with the transmitter. Obstacles or strong ambient light may reduce this range.
How to replace the headphone batteries?
Open the headphone battery compartment, remove the old batteries, insert two new AAA batteries respecting the indicated polarities, then close the compartment.
Can I use multiple headphones with the same transmitter?
Yes, it is possible to use multiple IR headphones on a single transmitter if they operate on the same frequency. Check the specifications to verify compatibility.
How to connect the transmitter to my TV?
Connect the supplied stereo audio cable (3.5 mm plug) to your TV's headphone output. If the output is 6.3 mm, use the supplied stereo adapter. Turn on the TV, transmitter, and headphone, then adjust the volume.
How to clean the headphone and transmitter?
Use a slightly damp cloth (not wet) to clean the casing. Never use alcohol, thinner, ammonia, or abrasive products that could damage the surface.
Why is the sound disturbed by interference?
Interference can be caused by intense light (sun, halogen lamps) or other infrared devices. Place the transmitter in a more shaded area or away from direct light sources.
Can I use a different AC adapter?
No, use exclusively the supplied Philips SBC CS030/00 (12 V / 200 mA) adapter. Using a non-compliant adapter may damage the device or pose a safety risk.
How to store the device when not in use?
Remove the headphone batteries and unplug the AC adapter. Store the device in a dry place, away from dust, excessive heat, and direct sunlight.

Benefits of Philips latest cordless technology

Cordless transmission

The IR transmitter transmits the stereo audio signal from your audio or video source to your IR headphone without wires.

Wide transmission range

Your IR headphone can receive signals up to a maximum of 7 meters away. The headphone however needs to be within the line of sight of the transmitter.

Easy transmission

High frequency IR waves carry the audio signal to ensure clear and sharp reception.

Multiple headphones with one transmitter

An additional number of headphones can be used with a single transmitter if they operate on the same frequency.

Please consult the appliance's electrical specification sheets for confirmation on compatibility.
