• Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.

• Never operate the device with any power supply other than the original one.

• Do not operate in the vicinity of high-frequency electromagnetic transmit- ters.

• Keep the power cable and the unit away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids.

• Never touch the power plug or On/Off button with wet or damp hands or while standing in water.

• Unit components carrying voltage may not come into contact with liquid.

• Do not reach for the unit if it falls into water. Unplug the power cable im- mediately.

• Connect the unit so that the power plug is freely accessible.

• Always unplug the power plug from the power outlet immediately after use.

• Disconnect the unit from the mains by pulling on the plug. Never pull on the cable!

• Do not carry, pull or turn the unit by the power cable. before using the unit

• Check the cable and the unit carefully before every use for damage. Do not put a defective unit into operation.

• Do not use the unit if damage to the unit or the cable is visible, if it does not function properly, if the cable or the unit have become wet.

• If the mains cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by MEDISANA, an authorized dealer or suitably qualied service personnel.7 for using the unit

• Use the unit only for its intended purpose as according to the instruc- tion manual. In case of misuse the warranty is no longer valid.

• Do not leave the unit unattended while it is connected to the mains.

• Avoid letting the unit come into contact with pointed or sharp objects.

• Never place the unit directly next to electric ovens or other heat sources.

• Do not stand on the unit.

• Only use this device in areas with sufcient space and where a good ventilation is guaranteed.

• Do not use the massage function for longer than 15 minutes. A too long massage can lead to overstimulation of muscles and to nerve irritations.

• Verify that seat supports and screw connections are in their correct place before each use.

• Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.

• To avoid the risk of electric shock, immediately pull out the plug from the power source: - if a malfunction occurs during operation - after each use - before each cleaning or maintenance. for care and maintenance

• The chair is maintenance-free.

• In case of malfunction do not repair the unit yourself. This does not only annul the warranty, but can also cause serious danger (re, elec- tric shock, injury). Only let authorized service points carry out repairs.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. for special persons

• This unit is not intended for use by persons (including children below the age of 14) with restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities, lack of experience and/or lack of knowledge, unless they are supervised by someone responsible for their safety and have received instructions on how to use the unit.

• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

• Do not use this unit as an aid to or a replacement for medical applica- tions. This may exacerbate chronic illness and symptoms.

• Do not treat any areas of the body, which show swellings, burns, in- ammations, rashes, wounds or sensitive areas.

• You should refrain from using the device or consult your physician prior to use if: - you are pregnant, - you have a pacemaker, articial joints or electronic implants, - you suffer from one or more of the following illnesses or medical conditions: circulatory disorder, varicose veins, open wounds, contusions, skin cracks, phlebitis.

• The unit has a hot surface. Persons insensitive to heat must be careful when using the unit.

• Discontinue use and consult your physician if you feel pain or if the massage feels uncomfortable. ATTENTION Do not move on the chair when the power cable is plugged in. This may damage the cable. The unit is not intended for household or commerci- al purposes or for the medical sector. Consult your physician before using the chair if you have health concerns. In order to achieve desired success and long-lasting pleasure with your MEDISANA Massage Chair RC 410 we recom- mend that you carefully read the following tips for use and maintenance.

Items supplied and packa- ging WARNING Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from he reach of children! Risk of suffocation! 2 Useful Information / 3 Operating 3 Operating The Massage Chair features two functions: Fingertip massage (Shiatsu massage) and warming. The warming function can only be used together with the shiatsu massage function in the back area. Do not use the unit for more than 15 minutes at a time. After approx. 15 minutes, the unit will switch off automatically. Always allow the unit to cool down fully before you use it again.

1. Connect the massage chair to the power supply unit and insert the plug

into the mains socket. Ensure that the power supply is easily accessible.

2. Take a seat on the shiatsu massage seating area

and familiarise your- self with the functions.

. The power LED begins to ash and the massage heads travel back up to the park position. When this position is reached, the LED extinguishes.

Press the DEMO button, the device starts automatically with introduction of different back setting with different functions. The LEDs show the current massage regions and functions. The device will stop once all functions worked. (3 minutes). Heat-Taste

Press the heat button to activate the function; the LED on the control unit and the massage heads light up red. The heat is radiated through the massage heads . Press button again to deactivate the heat function; the LED and the red light of the massage heads go out. If the devide is disconnected from power during operation, the massage heads will diretly move to park position after reconnecting power. GB9 3 Operating / 4 Miscellaneous

Shiatsu-Massage 0qt Lower button (lower back) The Shiatsu massage heads travel up and down the lower half of the back in a circular motion. The reversal of the direction takes place when the respec- tive end positions are reached. Upper button (upper back) The Shiatsu massage heads travel up and down the upper half of the back in a circular motion. The reversal of the direction takes place when the respec- tive end positions are reached. Full button (full back) The Shiatsu massage heads move from the “Park” position to the lower back, massaging the back in a circular motion whilst doing so. Once the un- dermost position has been reached, the direction of the massaging heads is reversed and the heads then travel up to the top of the backrest. Once the heads reach this point, the direction of rotation is reversed again and then travel down the back again. Press the button again to deactivate the Shiatsu massage function. Spot massage button

Only under shiatsu state spot massage for back will response. Massage heads rotate in a spot. Press button again to deactivate the spot massage function and return to Shiatsu state. FAST /SLOW button

You can choose the speed of the massage with these two buttons: fast (+) and slow (-). Timer button

With the timer button

, you can determine the length of the massage. Press button

, the button lights up and switches the timer to 5 minutes (the LED “5” lights up). Pressing the button again switches the timer to 10 minutes (the LED “10” lights up). Pressing the button once more switches the timer to 15 minutes (the LED “15” lights up).

4.1 Cleaning and maintenance

• Before cleaning the device, make sure that it is turned off and the mains plug is removed from the socket. Allow the unit to cool down. Only clean the Shiatsu massage seat cover with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild detergent (e.g. soap suds).

• Under no circumstances should you use aggressive detergents, strong brushes, solvents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. These could damage the surface.

• When cleaning, never immerse the unit in water and make sure that no water gets into the unit.

• Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again.

• Undo any kinks in the cable.

If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is. The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is 3 years from date of

purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.

2. Defects in material or workmanship will be corrected free of charge

within the warranty period.

3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the

unit or for the replacement parts.

4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user instructions. b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties. c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre. d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.

5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit
