• To prevent short circuits, this product should only be used inside and only in dry spaces. Do not expose the components to rain or moisture. Do not use the product close to a bath, swimming pool etc.

1. INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of the Split 812^TM!

This HDMI splitter connects one HDMI source (Blu-ray player, digital TV set-top box, game console, etc.) with two screens (HDTV, projector or even an AV amplifier). Unlike ordinary HDMI splitters, the Split 812^TM can simultaneously display two different video resolutions. This allows you to enjoy Ultra HD optimally, without having to replace all of your other equipment. Suitable for 4k2k Ultra HD, 1080p Full HD and all 3D formats.

3.PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

• Split and scale your HDMI signal to a 2nd (Ultra) HDTV or projector.
• Enables playing video and audio from your HDMI device (Digital TV Decoder, Blu-ray player or HDD recorder) simultaneously on 2 screens.
• Continue to use your non-Ultra HD-enabled equipment*, simply by using the unique automatic output scaling feature, which prevents it from switching back to a lower resolution.
• The Auto Scaling feature automatically detects the highest possible resolution of your display, and can simultaneously display two different video resolutions again (1080p and 4k2k).

• Suitable for 4k2k Ultra HD, 1080p Full HD and all 3D formats.
  Supports High Definition LPCM 7.1CH, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

• Devices supporting a maximum resolution of Full HD 1080p (v1.3), such as an HDTV, Projector, AV Receiver, etc.

4. INSTALLATION

1. Connect the HDMI source to the Split 812^TM 'input' via an HDMI cable.
2. Connect the HDMI screens to the Split 812^TM 'output' via HDMI cables.
3. Connect the power adapter to the Split 812^TM and plug into the socket.

Tip for installation:

Only use High Speed HDMI® certified cables for the best picture and sound quality. Do not use much force to connect or disconnect the HDMI cables otherwise they may become damaged.

5. USE

On both outputs, the Split 812^TM detects the highest resolution possible for the connected HDMI screens. The automatic scaling function selects the highest resolution possible for each HDMI output, prevents compatibility issues and ensures the highest possible image quality.

What can you do with it?

• Watch an Ultra HD source (4k2k) on a standard HDTV (1080p)
• Watch an Ultra HD source (4k2k) on an Ultra HDTV (4k2k)
• Watch an HD source (1080p) on an Ultra HDTV (4k2k)
• Watch an HD source (1080p) on a standard HDTV (1080p)

PLEASE NOTE:

3D resolutions cannot be adapted to 4k2k, but will be displayed unchanged on both HDMI outputs.

6. FAQ

No (or bad) image and sound

If you see a bad image or no image at all after connecting the HDMI splitter, try to establish what the problem is by connecting your devices, one by one, to your screen (TV, monitor or projector). This will allow you to establish whether the problem lies in the HDMI sources, the HDMI cables, the HDMI splitter or the screen. HDMI equipment that has not been tested and certified by ATC (Authorized Test Centers) may cause image and sound problems.

• Check whether the Split 812 power adapter is connected and plugged in;
• Only use High Speed HDMI® certified cables for the best picture and sound quality;
• Do not use HDMI cables that are longer than specified in the technical data;
• Check whether the HDMI cables and/or connectors are damaged;
• Both the HDMI source as well as your screen must fully support HDMI;
• Check whether your HDMI sources and screen support HDCP (Highbandwidth Digital Content Protection).

No proper 3D picture

• Check whether the HDMI source has been set to 3D and/or that this is set to automatic.
  Both the HDMI source as well as the HD screen must support the same 3D formats.
• Check whether the proper 3D picture is reproduced by directly connecting the HDMI source to the screen with an HDMI cable.
