Operating instructions

1. General

Please read the information contained herein so that you can become familiar with your device quickly and take advantage of the full scope of its functions.

2. Safety instructions

  • Read the instructions carefully before using the machine.
  • Unplug the machine before assembling, removing, or cleaning parts.
  • Children should not use this machine without supervision. Do not let the cord hang down where a child could grab it.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, is dropped, or has been damaged in any manner.
  • To protect against the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, do not place the cord, plug, or unit in water or other liquids.
  • Never use an unauthorized attachment.
  • Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, spatulas and other utensils away during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons and/or damage to the machine.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Never leave the machine on unattended.
  • Do not let children play with this machine.
  • Only use the machine for its intended domestic use.
    If the cord is damaged it must, for safety reasons, be replaced by an authorized repairer.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
    Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
    Always make sure everything is thoroughly clean before making ice cream or sorbet.
  • Never freeze ice cream that has been fully or partially defrosted.
  • Any ice cream or sorbet containing raw ingredients should be consumed within one week. Ice cream tastes best when it's fresh.
  • Ice cream or sorbet that contains raw or partially cooked eggs should not be given to young children, pregnant women, the elderly or people who are generally unwell.
  • To prevent freezer burn, always ensure that hands are protected when handling the tank, especially when first removed from the freezer.
  • If the freezing solution appears to be leaking from the bowl, discontinue use. The freezing solution is non toxic.
  • Do not place the machine on hot surfaces such as stoves, hotplates or near open gas flames.

Before plugging in

  • Make sure your electricity supply is the same as the electrical rating specified on the bottom of the power unit.

3. Before using for the first time

1 Remove all of the packaging.
2 Wash the parts: see "cleaning".
3 8-12 hours in advance, place the freezer tank into a freezer.
4 Prepare the ice cream or sorbet mix (see recipe). Allow the mixture to cool in the refrigerator.

  1. Take out the freezer tank from the freezer.

  2. Place the assembled power unit/lid/spindle/paddle onto the freezer tank. Then turn anti-clockwise to lock into position.

WARNING: THE MACHINE MUST BE SWITCHED ON BEFORE ADDING THE INGREDIENTS TO PREVENT THE MIX FROM IMMEDIATELY FREEZING ON THE INSIDE OF THE TANK.

  1. Use the chute and pour the ice cream or sorbet mix into the freezer tank. When pouring mixture into the tank, do not exceed at least 4cm (1½ inch) from the top, as the mixture will increase in volume during freezing.

  2. Allow the mixture to churn until frozen or the desired consistency is reached. This can take up to 20 to 30 minutes, but most recipes will be ready in less time.

Important

  • Do not stop and start the machine during the freezing process, as the mixture may freeze in contact with the bowl and prevent movement of the paddle.

  • To avoid overheating the motor, the direction of rotation will change if the mixture becomes too thick. If the direction of rotation continues to change, stop the machine when the mixture is ready.

  • In the unlikely event of the motor overheating, a safety cut out will operate causing the motor to stop. If this happens, switch off, unplug the machine and allow the power unit to cool.

Switch off, remove the power unit/lid. The ice cream is ready to serve.
- The ice cream produced should be a soft spoonable type. This can be transferred to a separate container for storage in the freezer or if you wish to firm the ice cream before eating.

Important

  • Do not use metal utensils to remove mix from the tank.
  • Do not remove the freezer tank from the freezer until ready to make ice cream.

Hints

  • We suggest that you keep the freezer tank in the freezer so that it is ready for use. Place in a plastic bag before freezing. Freeze the tank in the upright position.
    Always make sure the freezer tank is thoroughly dry before placing in the freezer.
  • Do not puncture or heat the freezer tank.
  • The freezer tank should be placed in a freezer that is operating at a temperature of -18^ or below for 8-12 hours before use.
  • For best results we suggest refrigerating the ingredients before making ice cream.
    The addition of alcohol to recipes inhibits the freezing process.

5. Cleaning

  • Always switch off, unplug and dismantle before cleaning.
  • Never put the power unit in water or let the cord or plug get wet.
  • Do not wash parts in the dishwasher.
  • Do not clean with scouring powders, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.

Freezer Tank

  • Allow the freezer tank to reach room temperature before attempting to clean.
  • Wash it thoroughly from the inside with warm water; from the outside, wipe the tank with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Do not immerse in water.

Paddle

  • Remove the paddle from the tank.
  • Wash, then dry thoroughly.

Lid

  • Wash the lid, then dry thoroughly.

Power unit

  • Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry.

6. Disposal of the Old Device

7. Guarantee

  • We provide a 24 month guarantee for this product, commencing from the date of sale, for faults which are attributable to production or material faults.
  • Your legal guarantee entitlements in accordance with § 439 ff. BGB-E remain unaffected by this.
  • The guarantee does not include damages, which were incurred as a result of improper handling or use, as well as malfunctions which only have a minor effect on the function or the value of the device. Consumables, transit damages, inasmuch as we are not responsible for these, as well as damages, which were incurred as a result of any repairs that were not performed by us, are also excluded from the guarantee entitlements.
    This device is designed for use in domestic situations and has the appropriate performance levels.
  • Any use in commercial situations is only covered under the guarantee to the extent that it would be comparable with the stresses of being used in a domestic situation. It is not intended for any additional, commercial use.
  • In the event of justified complaints, we will repair the faulty device at our discretion or replace it with a trouble-free device.

Any pending faults must be reported within 14 days of delivery. All further claims are excluded.

10. Recipes

Banana ice cream

Ingredients

1 large ripe banana (80 gr.)
140 ml. skimmed milk
50 ml. heavy cream
30 g. confectioner's sugar

Mash the bananas until smooth. Mix in the milk, heavy cream and sugar. Place the mixed ingredients into the freezer for 20-30 minutes before making ice cream. Pour the mixture into the freezer tank with the paddle running. Allow to freeze until the desired consistency is achieved.

Mango ice cream

Ingredients

160 gr. mango
134 ml. skimmed milk
30 gr. confectioner's sugar

Mash the mango. For a smooth result remove the pips by sieving. Add the sugar and milk and mix together. Place the mixed ingredients into the freezer for 20- 30 minutes before making ice cream. Pour the mixture into the freezer tank with the paddle running. Allow to freeze until the desired consistency is achieved.

Chocolate mint ice cream

Ingredients

130 ml. skimmed milk
30 gr. confectioner's sugar
100 ml. heavy cream
A few drops of peppermint extract
40 gr. grated chocolate

Place the milk and sugar into a saucepan. Place over a low heat and stir until the sugar has dissolve, then leave it until it's cold. Stir the cream and peppermint essence into the cooled milk. Place the mixed ingredients into the freezer for 20-30 minutes before making ice cream. Pour the mixture into the freezer tank with the paddle running. When the mixture starts to freeze add the grated chocolate down the chute. Allow to freeze until the desired consistency is achieved.

Strawberry ice cream

Ingredients

120 gr. fresh strawberries
40 gr. confectioner's sugar
80 ml. heavy cream
60 ml. skimmed milk

Puree the strawberries until smooth, then add the remaining ingredients. Place the mixed ingredients into the freezer for 20-30 minutes before making ice cream. Pour the mixture into the freezer tank with the paddle running. Allow the mixture to freeze until the desired consistency is achieved.

Lemon sorbet

Ingredients

100 gr. granulated sugar

100 ml. water

Juice from 12 medium size orange juice

60 ml. lemon juice

1 egg white

Place the sugar and water in a saucepan. Stir over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Bring the mixture to boiling and allow to boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Add the orange and lemon juice. Whisk the egg white until almost stiff and then stir into the lemon mixture. Place the mixed ingredients into the freezer for 20-30 minutes before making ice cream. Pour the mixture into the freezer tank with the paddle running. Allow to freeze until the desired consistency is achieved.

Custard based vanilla ice cream

Ingredients

1 eggyolk
25 gr. confectioner's sugar
100 ml. skimmed milk
100 ml. heavy cream

A few drops of vanilla extract

Place the egg yolk and sugar in a glass tank and beat together. In a saucepan slowly bring the milk to the boiling point, then pour onto the egg mixture and mix it together. Return the mixture to the pan and stir constantly until the mixture thickens and forms a film over the back of the spoon. Do not let it boil or the mixture will separate. Remove from heat and leave until cold. Stir in the cream and vanilla extract. Place

Yogurt Ice Cream

Ingredients

130 ml. yogurt

35 gr. confectioner's sugar

75 ml. heavy cream

60 ml. strawberry juice

A few drops of lemon juice

Place the yogurt, heavy cream, sugar, strawberry juice and lemon juice into a saucepan and mix. Place the mixed ingredients into the freezer for 20- 30 minutes before making ice cream.

Then pour the mixture into the freezer tank with the paddle running. Allow to freeze until the desired consistency is achieved.
