• Only use this unit according to the intended purpose and as directed in the instruction manual. The warranty is null and void if it is not used for the intended purpose. The device is not intended for commercial use.
• The surface of the appliance is hot. People who are insensitive to heat must be careful when using the appliance.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself in the event of any defects. Not only does this render the warranty null and void but you can also run the risk of serious hazards (fire, electric shock, injury). Only have repairs carried out by authorised service points.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

WARNING

Use of the massage device is prohibited in the following cases: • on children, • on animals, • you are pregnant, • on the head and the throat, • do not treat any parts of the body that have swellings, burns, inflammation, peeling skin, wounds or other sensitive points, • people fitted with a pacemaker, artificial joints or electronic implants should consult a doctor in all cases before using the device, • not while ingesting substances that reduce reaction times (e.g. painkiller medications, alcohol), • you should not use this device if you are affected by one or more of the following illnesses and conditions: Circulation disorders, varicose veins, open wounds, bruises, broken skin, inflammation of the veins or thrombosis.

Please note the following in particular concerning electrical equipment:

• Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.
• Only use the unit in enclosed spaces!
• Do not use any electrical equipment while taking a bath or shower. Do not store or keep any electrical equipment in places where it could fall into the bathtub or washbasin.
• Do not use the device on wet skin or if the device is wet.
• Do not reach for the unit if it has fallen into water. Disconnect the mains adapter from the mains socket immediately.
• Do not use the device in the vicinity of aerosol vapour or at the same time as an oxygen device.
• Do not use the device underneath bedding or cushions.
• Keep the mains cable away from hot surfaces and naked flames.
• Never use the unit if the power cable has been damaged, the mains adapter is defective, if the unit does not work perfectly, if it has fallen into water or has been damage.
• If the power supply cable, respectively the mains adaptor is damaged, it may only be replaced by MEDISANA, an authorised dealer or by qualified personnel.
• Never carry, pull or rotate the unit by the mains cable and never pinch or crush the cable between other objects.
• Keep the power cable away from the rotating massage roller.
• Uninterrupted treatment should not last longer than 15 minutes. Then switch off the unit for at least half an hour and allow it to cool down.
• If you place too much strain on the appliance, it will be switched off by a thermal fuse. Then let the appliance cool down for at least 30 minutes before using it again.
• Only pull the plug out of the socket when you have dry hands, when the unit has been switched off and is not being used any longer, and also do this when you have to clean the unit.

Important recommendations concerning your health:

• Consult your doctor first before using this unit if you have diabetes or other related illnesses.
• The treatment should be pleasant. Stop at once and consult your doctor if you feel pain or the treatment seems unpleasant.
• Massages using the cellulite massager are not a substitute for treatments administered by doctors or physiotherapists.

2.1

Scope of delivery and

packaging

Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use the appliance and contact your supplier or your service centre.

The following parts are included:

• 1 MEDISANA AC 855 - device
  1 Mains adapter
• 1 instruction manual

The packaging can be reused or recycled. Please dispose properly of any packaging material no longer required. If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your supplier without delay.

WARNING

Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!

2.2

Cellulitemas-sagerAC 855

• Cellulite, an irregularity in the texture of the skin, is caused by an uneven distribution of subcutaneous fat, compression of the connective tissue and poor blood circulation.
• There is no magic cure for cellulite. Gymnastics, sport, a balanced diet and massages to encourage better circulation do, however, make the fat deposits melt away. They stimulate the metabolism, boost the lymphatic circulation and have a positive effect on the connective tissue.
• The cellulite massager provides a way to massage the buttocks, upper thighs, upper arms and hips to stimulate circulation. The massages have the welcome effect of activating and stimulating circulation – helping to activate the metabolism accordingly. The massage can, when performed on a daily basis and over a longer period of time, help to tauten the skin appreciably.
• This is how the device works: The massage roller ⑤ gently lifts up the skin and guides it in the direction of the suction mechanism 4 , where the skin pulled to treat the cellulite layers even more effective. The red light ③ can be switched on additionally to further stimulate blood circulation.

3 Operating

• Plug the mains adapter into the socket ② of the appliance and then plug the mains adapter into the power socket.
• Place your hand under the handstrap 8.
• With the other hand, choose suction intensity by turning the suction intensity control 1. Choose a low intensity at the beginning.
• Hold the massager on the part of the body you wish to massage. Make sure that no parts of the body (e.g. fingers) or the power cable become trapped between the rotating massage roller 5.
• Press and hold the On-/Off-button ⑥ while you massage in the direction of your heart.
• By pressing the redlight-button ⑦ you can switch the red light on and off.
• To end the treatment release the On-/Off-button 6 and pull themains adapter out of the socket.
• If you feel any pain or using the appliance triggers unpleasant sensations, change the contact pressure, try a different part of the body, or discontinue the massage.

NOTE

Uninterrupted treatment should not last longer than 15 minutes. Using the unit for longer can over-stimulate the muscles and cause tension.

4.1 Cleaning and maintenance

• In the case of an electrical unit always pull the mains adapter out of the socket.
• Never use strong cleaning agents or stiff brushes.
• The handstrap can be removed by unfasten on both sides and be cleaned under running water with a washing-up liquid.
• Clean the unit with a soft cloth which has been lightly moistened with a mild soap. Never dip the unit into water for cleaning and ensure that no water gets into the unit at any time.
• Only use the unit again, when it is fully dry.
• Store the device in a dry, cool place.

This product must not be disposed together with the domestic waste. All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.

Consult your municipal authority or your dealer for information about disposal.

Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your supplier or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.

The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be corrected free of charge within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observation of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.

1. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
