I. WARNINGS/PRECAUTIONS

Choose a safe location away from traffic to familiarise yourself with your new bike.

The assistance can be triggered with force. Check that your handlebars are straight and that the way is clear.

Before each use, please make sure that your bike is in good overall condition. We strongly advise you to equip yourself before getting on the bike. Wearing a helmet is a minimum requirement.

Before each use, please make sure that your bike is in good overall condition.

In addition, traffic on public roads requires compliance with the Highway Code and traffic regulations. Since 1 September 2008, cyclists are required wear reflective vests at night outside urban areas. MGTS declines any responsibility if the driver of the bike does not comply with the regulations in force.

This bike is intended for use in urban roads. It is not intended for use on surfaces that are unpaved or in poor condition. It is not designed for "all-terrain" use. Failure to observe these warnings may result in a fail or an accident and prematurely and irreversibly deteriorate the condition of your electric bike. If the bike is used by a child, parents should monitor and ensure that the user is able to use the bike safely.

In case of unusual climatic conditions (rain, cold, night...), be especially vigilant, dress accordingly and adapt your speed and your reactions.

When transporting your bike on the outside of your vehicle (bike rack, roof rack...), it is recommended to remove the battery and store it in a cool place.

ATTENTION: Like any mechanical component, a bike is subjected to high stresses and wears out. The different materials and components can react differently to wear or fatigue. If the expected service life of a component has been exceeded, the component may break unexpectedly, which is likely to result in injury to the rider. Cracks, scratches and discolorations in areas subject to high stress indicate that the component has exceeded its service life and must be replaced. When in doubt, do not hesitate to meet our technicians, they will advise you in the best possible way after the diagnosis of your bike.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

II. INITIAL START-UP/ SETTINGS

Although your Wayscrew bike has been thoroughly prepared in our workshops, it is important to make sure of the following points before first use.

1) Setting up the safety features

WAYSCRAL Dandy 26 - Changing the brake pads - 1

WAYSCRAL Dandy 26 - Changing the brake pads - 2

V-Brake rear brakes

The jaws must close properly on the edge of the rims. The brake pads must be at an equal distance from the rim (approx. 3mm). The condition of the rim contributes greatly to the effectiveness of braking, so it is advisable to clean it regularly.

You should be able to achieve maximum braking power without the brake levers touching the handles. If this is not the case, your brakes must be adjusted.

  • A nut and locknut system allows you to adjust the braking force that will vary over time depending on the wear of the brake pads.

  • The Phillips screw with spring will allow you to compensate for the wear of the brake pads and ensure the correct position of the brakes on both sides of the rim. The brake pads are standard, replace them as soon as the wear indicator is reached.

Rim subject to wear

Regular check shall be done on any wear-out components. As time goes on, brake pad may decrease or lose the braking performance by wearing with rims. Brake pads shall always be checked regularly to make sure there is no cracks or exhausted.

5) Changing the speed: Use and adjustment

Your Dandy bike has 7 manually interchangeable speeds thanks to a Shimano Nexus system .Attention : Never pedal backwards while shifting gears and never force the control lever .

Setting for the speed system

To adjust the Shimano Nexus internal dorallaur, you just have to engage the 4th gear to align the moving yellow mark with the fixed line by using the adjusting wheel

Use the right handle to make the desired change. The higher the indicator, the more difficult it will be to pedal and vice versa.

Disconnect the charger from the outlet when charging is complete.

Don't forget to lock your battery when installing it on the bike.

Battery Life

Your battery will be subjected to a break-in period. It will begin its definitive service life after around 10 uses.

After charging your battery, it is advisable to let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes before use. The service life varies depending on the battery used: 36V 6.6Ah, 36V 13.2Ah or 36V 17.4Ah.

36V 6.6Ah battery:25-45 km

36V 13.2Ah battery: 60-80 km

36V 17.4Ah battery: 70-110km

This service life range depends on several usage factors:

The choice of the mode of assistance
- The weight of the user
- The difference in road elevation
-Tyre inflation
- The wind
- Pedalling effort supplied
- Starting and stopping frequency
- Outdoor temperature

Warning, precautions

It is recommended to recharge the batteries on a regular basis, or after each use. There is no memory effect on these batteries.
To maximise the service life of your battery, it is recommended:
- to avoid hot places (ideal charging temperature is 20^ )
- to allow the battery to cool down 30 minutes after using the bike

Precautions for use:

  • Use the battery only for the bike in question.

  • Use only the specific charger supplied to charge the battery.

-Only charge the battery in a well-ventilated area.

  • Do not expose the battery to heat or charge it in direct sunlight.

  • Do not disassemble or modify the battery

  • Do not connect the (+) and (-) connections of the battery to a metal object.

  • Do not expose the battery to liquids.

  • Do not use a damaged battery.

  • Do not continue to charge the battery if the charge is not complete at the end of the theoretical charging time.

  • Do not use the battery if it emits an unusual odour, heats up in an unusual way or if something

seems abnormal.

  • Keep the battery out of the reach of children.

  • Recharge your battery prior to long-term storage and perform the same operation after storage.

Follow the instructions on the battery charger label.

Service life of the batteries

Batteries can suffer from aging of their performance after numerous charges. This will depend on the usage patterns of the electric bike. In general, the energy capacity will be reduced by 20 to 30% after 500 cycles (charging and discharging) for lithium batteries.

You must bring your used batteries to your dealer or to specialised recycling collection points. Above all, do not throw your batteries in nature at the end of their service life.

3)Charger
Use only the charger supplied with your electric bike. Avoid any contact with water while recharging the battery. If a plug gets wet, dry it thoroughly before using.
Precautions for use:
-Read the manual before using the charger.
-For indoor use only, do not expose it to rain.
-Do not short-circuit the charger pins using a metal object.
-Do not disassemble or modify the charger, in case of problems, have the unit repaired by a qualified service technician.
-Always place the charger in a dry and well-ventilated environment.
-Attention: Explosive gases. Avoid flames and sparks. Ensure sufficient ventilation while charging.
-Do not use the charger with a damaged power cord or plugs.
-Do not touch the charger with wet hands.
-Make sure that the charger plug is properly connected to the mains when charging.
-Disconnect the power before connecting or disconnecting the battery connections
-Avoid prolonged contact with the charger while charging (risk of superficial burns).
-Do not place the charger in an unstable position.
-Do not cover the charger to avoid overheating while charging.
- This charger is designed to charge lithium batteries, do not use it to charge the wrong type of battery.
- Do not use on a non-rechargeable battery.
- This device is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or persons lacking experience or knowledge, unless under supervision or having been given prior instruction concerning the use of the device by someone responsible for their safety.

IV MAINTENANCE

1)Servicing

Note: To ensure safety and maintain the components in good working condition, you must have your electric bike periodically checked by your vendor:

Initial servicing: 1 month or 150km

-Checking the tightening of the components: crank, wheel, stem, pedals, handlebars, seat clamp.

-Checking the operation of the transmission and assistance,

-Checking and adjusting the brakes

-Voltage and/or truing of the wheels.

Every year or 2000km

-Checking levels of wear (brake pads, transmission, tyres),

-Inspection of bearings (bottom bracket, wheels, steering, pedals),

-Inspection of cables (brakes, derailleur),

-Inspection of lights.

-Voltage and/or truing of the wheels.

Every 3 years or 6000km

-Changing the transmission (chain, freewheel, chainwheel),

-Changing the tyres

-Checking wheel wear (spokes, rim)

Voltage and/or truing of the wheels

-Changing the brake pads

-Inspection of electrical functions.

2) General maintenance

Your bike requires regular maintenance for your safety but also to increase its service life. It is important to periodically check the mechanical components to ensure replacement of parts that are worn or show signs of wear, if necessary.

For safe use, regularly check the condition of brakes and rims.

Cleaning

Your bike should be cleaned with a sponge, a bucket of warm soapy water and a jet of water (not pressurised). Clean rim flanks and brake pads with alcohol or acetone. Make sure you do not use a jet of pressurised water.

Lubrication

Lubrication is essential on the different moving components to avoid corrosion. It must be done

regularly on ball bearings located in the axis of the wheels, chain, derailleur and control cables. It is advisable to use a specific oil for the chain and the derailleur. Grease must be used for the other components.

Regular inspection:

The lightening of the bolts: lever, crank, pedals, stems.

The tightening torques to be applied are as follows:

ComponentsRecommended torque (NM)Special instructions
Pedals on cranks35-40Grease the threads
Crank30-35
Stom tightening18-20
Headset tightening≥ 25
Brake lever2.5-4
Brake calipers5-7.5
Seal on clamp19-20
Wheel25-35
Cartier racks8

The other tightening torques depend on the size of the nuts: M4: 2.5 to 4.0 N.m., M5: 4.0 to 6.0 N.m., M6: 6.0 to 7.5 N.m. Tighten the screws uniformly to required torque.

V After-sales service

1) Wear parts

The different wear parts are standard components. Always replace worn parts and/or replace them with identical commercially available components or from your dealer.

Attention: As with any mechanical component, a bicycle undergoes high stress and wears.

The different materials and components can react differently to wear or fatigue.

If the expected service life of a component has been exceeded, the component may break unexpectedly, which is likely to result in injury to the rider.

Cracks, scratches and discolorations in areas subject to high stresses indicate that the component has exceeded its service life and should be replaced

2) Applicable warranty

We have taken the greatest care in designing and manufacturing your bike so that it gives you complete satisfaction. However, if your product appears to be defective, you can receive a commercial warranty from the purchase date of:

Lifetime warranty on the frame.

2 years for the motor.

  • 1 years for parts, excluding wear parts (tyres, inner tube, brake pads, handlebar grips, seat, cable).

  • 2 years for the lithium batteries and the charger. (Bring your used battery back to your dealer, it will be recycled!)

To avail of this warranty, the user must present the product to the distributor, along with the sales receipt or purchase invoice.

You can also fill out the warranty claim form on the website www.wayscral.com.

This warranty, applicable in the country of purchase, covers all defects of the product that do not allow normal use. It does not cover defects resulting from poor maintenance, improper use, or if the manufacturer's recommendations have not been observed. The warranty does not cover normal wear of parts associated with the use of the product.

The guarantor is: contact: www.norauto.com.

3) Operation and troubleshooting

Lithium batteries:

The red charger light does not work while charging

  • Check that the connectors are properly connected.

The red charger light does not turn green

  • Turn off the power, then connect it to the mains after 5 seconds, it can continue to charge.

The red charger light immediately turns green

  • Check that the battery is fully charged.

  • Check if the fuse has blown.

Do not disassemble the charger, but have a qualified service technician replace the fuse with

a new one with the same characteristics (T3.15A/250V).
