How to use

CAUTION:

  • The appliance is not suitable for the preparation of rice pudding. Milk could boil over or burn.
Always fill the rice bowl with water; never fill the housing.

CAUTION:

  • Use the inner pot (rice bowl) as an insert in this device only. It is not suitable for other cookers!

NOTE:

A safety mechanism prevents the device from cooking if the rice bowl has not been inserted properly.

Measuring cup

The measuring cup (CUP) in combination with the water level indicator in the rice pot helps determine the amount of water and rice.

For example, if you wish to cook 6 CUPs of rice, add 6 measuring cups of rice to the pot and fill with water to the respective (CUP) mark, e.g. 6.

Rice Quantity

  • With this device you can boil a maximum of 1.3kg of rice (gross weight). For this you require 2.7 litres of water. Depending on the type of rice, this will provide you with approximately 3.0kg of boiled rice with a cooking time of approx. 45 min.
  • The minimum quantity of rice for boiling is 400g (3 CUPs), which will provide you with approx. 650g of boiled rice, depending on the type of rice used.
  • Rule of thumb: Use 2 parts of water with 1 part of rice.
  • Check the packaging of your rice product for information on the exact quantity ratio.

ON/OFF switch

Connect the device to the mains supply.

  • When the ON/OFF switch is in the ON position, the appliance is operational. The POWER indicator lights up.
  • The appliance is turned off when in the OFF position.

Function Switch

When the function switch is switched towards the top, the appliance will stay in the operational condition "Keeping warm". The indicator lamp WARM is lit.

  • With the function switch you can change over to the mode "Cooking". This is only possible if the rice pot is correctly inserted and the switching contact (in the middle of the hot plate) therefore properly connected. The indicator lamp COOK is lit.

Cooking time

  • Once the water has fully evaporated in the rice pot, the appliance switches automatically to "Keeping warm", ending the cooking process. The indicator lamp WARM is lit.

Ending operation

Observe the following sequence:

  1. Check if the indicator lamp WARM is lit. Push the function switch upwards, if applicable.
  2. Set the power switch to the OFF position.
  3. Disconnect the power plug from the outlet.
