USER MANUAL TYG 3440 CLATRONIC
- Use the device for private and its intended purpose only. The device is not intended for commercial use. Do not use the device outdoors. Protect it from heat, direct sunlight, humidity (do not immerse into liquids under any cir- cumstances) and sharp edges. Do not use the device with wet hands. If the device gets wet, unplug it immediately.
- Always switch off and unplug the device (pull the plug, not the cable) when you do not use the device, or when you attach accessories, during cleaning or malfunctioning.
- Do not leave the device unattended during operation. Always switch off the device when leaving the room. Unplug the device.
- Regularly check the device and cable for signs of damage. Do not continue to operate the device in case of damage.
- Do not repair the device by yourself. Please contact author- ized personnel. In order to avoid hazards, a damaged mains cable must be replaced with an equivalent cable by the manufacturer, our customer service or any other quali- ed specialist.
- Do only use original parts.
- Please observe the following “Special safety instructions”. Children and disabled persons
- For the safety of your children, keep any packing parts (plastic bags, cartilage, Styrofoam etc.) out of their reach. WARNING! Don’t let small children play with foils for danger of suf- focation!
- This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabili- ties, or lack of experience and/or knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.

WARNING: Hot surface!
Danger of burns! During operation the temperature of accessible surfaces can be very high.
- Only take hold of the appliance at the thermostat and handles.
- Please ensure that the mains lead does not come into contact with the hot sections of the device.
WARNING: Fire hazard!
- Oil and fat can burn when overheated.
- Keep sufcient safe distance (30 cm) to inammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc. CAUTION:
- Only the supplied thermostat may be used. No other regulator should be used under any circumstances!
- Always set the temperature control to “min.” (off), before attaching or removing the thermostat. The appliance may otherwise become damaged.
- Ensure that the thermostat is correctly plugged into the appliance. The temperature control must face up.
- When removing the thermostat, pull on the plug, not on the cable!
- Do not apply excessive force when plugging in or remov- ing the thermostat.
- Place the unit on a at and heat-resistant surface. In the case of sensitive surfaces please place a heat-resistant board under the pan.
- Do not operate the appliance with an external timer or separate remote control system.
- Never pour water into hot fat.
- Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.
- Keep the temperature sensor and the plug pins clean. With this connected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended. CAUTION: Overload!
- If you use extension leads, these should have a cable cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
- Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too powerful. Connection
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off. The tempera- ture control must be set to “min.”.
- Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the line voltage match.
- The mains plug should only be inserted into a correctly installed 230 V~, 50 Hz socket with earthing contact. Before initial use
1. Take the device out of its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging materials, such as foils, lling materi-
als, cable ties and cartons.
3. Check that all accessories are included in the box.
4. Operate the appliance for around 10 minutes on the highest
setting (see “Initial Operation”). NOTE:
- This process normally produces a little smoke and some smells. Provide sufcient ventilation.
- Clean manufacturing residues and dust from the device as described under “Cleaning”. Initial Operation
1. Place the device on a heat-resistant surface.
2. Please ensure that the temperature regulator is turned to
“min.” (off) and insert it into the socket of the thermostat. CAUTION: If the thermostat is not inserted correctly, this may lead to abnormal heating, of which the consequence may be damage or accidents. You should therefore ensure that the thermostat is inserted correctly.
3. Connect the device to a properly installed 230 V~, 50 Hz
4. Set the temperature control according to what you intend
to do: Range Use A Keeping warm B Cooking C - D Simmering E - G Stir-frying H Grilling NOTE:
- The device has reached the correct temperature when the control lamp on the thermostat goes off.
- During operation, the pilot lamp switches on and off. This is normal and indicates that the temperature is being thermostatically controlled and maintained. Fat Collecting Pan Excess fat collects in the drip tray.
- Slide the drip tray into the bracket under the griddle.
- When grilling you should check the contents regularly and empty the pan when necessary. Using the unit
The appliance is hot during use!
- Preheat the appliance for around 7 minutes. When the pilot lamp goes out, the grill is ready to use.
- The cooking time depends on the type of food, the quantity, and how well cooked the food needs to be, and it must be determined according to your own preferences.
- When turning the food that is being cooked, please use wooden or Teon utensils so as not to damage the non- stick layer.
- When the cooking process is complete, switch the tempera- ture control to “A” to keep the food warm. After Use
- To switch the device off, rst turn the temperature regulator to “min.” (off) and remove the plug from the socket.
- Do not remove the thermostat from the device until the device has cooled down, as the temperature sensor is still very hot after use.22 Cleaning
WARNING: Risk of electric shock!
- Never immerse the appliance and the thermostat in water to clean it.
- Never clean the regulator with damp items.
- Never immerse the cable loom in water!
- Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down. CAUTION:
- Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents. Thermostat
- Please clean the thermostat with a soft paper towel or a soft try cloth. Griddle
- Please remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel.
- Wipe the griddle with a soft sponge and soapy water, rinse with clean water, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. After drying please apply a thin lm of edible oil to the surface. Fat Collecting Pan
- Pull out of the fat collecting pan.
- Discard the contents.
- Clean the tray in a bowl of soapy water.
