2. Safety Instructions

  • Indoor use only.
  • Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.
  • Do not connect to an appliance with a load exceeding the capacity of the timer (see Technical Specifications).
  • Do not use a timer to control an appliance containing a heating element (cooking appliance, heater, iron...).
  • Never leave the appliance unattended while in use.
    Always make sure the plug of the connected appliance is fully inserted into the timer.
  • Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.

3. Operation

3.1 Setting the day and time

  1. Unplug the timer from the outlet.
  2. In Clock mode, press and hold OK for 4 seconds. The weekday flashes.
  3. Press button +1 or -1 to select the day of the week and press OK to confirm. The hour digit flashes.
  4. Press button +1 or -1 to adjust hour and press OK to confirm. The minute digit flashes.
  5. Press button +1 or -1 to adjust the minutes. minute and press OK to confirm.
  6. Press MENU to finish. The display shows the newly set time. The hour display is in 24 hour format.

Notes

  • To change the hours and minutes more quickly, press and hold +1 or -1 for more than 1 second. The number will change quickly in ascending or descending order. Then release the button until your desired number shown.
  • If you want to exit the clock setting mode, press MENU.

3.2 Setting a program

  1. Unplug the timer from the outlet.
  2. To enter PROGRAM mode, press MENU. PROG 1, ON flashes.

PROG 1 shows the program number, ON or OFF shows the program status.

  1. Press +1 or -1 to select a program number and a status.

The default program is 1 ON, press +1 to select program 1 OFF, press +1 again to select program 2 ON, and so on.

  1. Press OK. The weekdays are flashing.
  2. Press +1 to select a day or set of days.

  3. Press OK to confirm. The hour digit flashes.

  4. Press +1 or -1 to set the hour and press OK to confirm. The minutes digit flashes.
  5. Press OK to confirm. Press MENU twice to exit program mode.

Note

In clock mode, the timer will function according to preset program when the power output displays AUTO ON or AUTO OFF, if the power output displays ON or OFF, the preset program will not function.

3.3 Clearing the programs

When in program mode, you can clear all the program presets as follows

  1. To enter PROGRAM mode, press MENU. Press RCL to clear the programs presets.

3.4 Countdown timer

  1. To enter Countdown mode, press MENU twice in clock mode. The hour digit flashes.
  2. Press +1 or -1 to set the hour and press OK to confirm. To change the digit more quickly, press and hold +1 or 1. The minutes digit flashes.
  3. Press +1 or -1 to set the minutes and press OK to confirm. The seconds digit flashes.
  4. Press +1 or -1 to set the seconds and press OK to confirm.

The countdown starts.

When the countdown stops, the countdown timer returns to 0:00:00. You can set another countdown. To exit Countdown mode, press MENU.

Cancelling the countdown timer

To enter Countdown mode, press MENU twice in clock mode. The hour digit flashes.

Press RCL to cancel the Countdown mode.

Countdown to turn power off

When the timer is in ON or AUTO ON status, by entering countdown mode, it changes to ON automatically. At the end of the countdown period, power is turned off.

Countdown to turn power on

When the timer is in OFF or AUTO OFF status, by entering countdown mode, it changes to OFF automatically. At the end of the preset countdown period, power is turned on.

3.5 Random function

The random function turns appliances on and off at irregular intervals.

  • With the timer in Clock mode, press -1 to start random function. RND is displayed on the LCD indicating timer is in random mode.
    The preset on/off time will be randomly delayed from 4 to 32 minutes.
    To exit the random function, press again. RND disappears from the display.

3.6 Daylight savings time function

  • In Clock mode, press RCL to start the daylight savings time function. Press RCL again to stop it. In this mode, the preset program will be delayed one hour.
    In summer time mode, +1 hour is shown on the display and the time display automatically adds one hour.

3.7 Override function

You can override the program presets in the timer.

Press +1 or -1 to change the timer status. The options are:

ON: always on
- AUTO ON: timer works according to program presets
OFF: always off
- AUTO OFF: timer works according to program presets

3.8 Resetting the timer

  • To reset the timer, press the RST button with a needle or point. This will reset the time and clear all timer program settings.

3.9 Connecting an appliance to the timer

When the programs are set:

  1. Switch off your electrical appliance.
  2. Plug your appliance into the timer socket.

  3. Plug the timer to the power outlet.

  4. Switch on your appliance. The appliance will then be turned on/off according to your settings.

3.10 Backlight

When the timer is plugged into a socket, the blue backlight of the LCD display can be switched on or off by pressing the key.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Remove the timer from the mains before cleaning.
  • Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not immerse in water or any liquid.

5. Battery

!·This device contains an internal rechargeable battery. When the device is end-of-life, it must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. ·Keep batteries away from children. ·Do not puncture batteries or throw them in fire as they may explode.

In order to ensure the quality, our products regularly go through an extra quality check, both by an internal quality department and by specialized external organisations. If, all precautionary measures notwithstanding, problems should occur, please make appeal to our warranty (see guarantee conditions).

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

  • All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.

  • Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion. You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

- Not covered by warranty:

  • all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity...), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits:

  • consumable goods, parts or accessories that are subject to an aging process during normal use, such as batteries (rechargeable, non-rechargeable, built-in or replaceable), lamps, rubber parts, drive belts... (unlimited list);

  • damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article:

  • all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.

  • Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.

  • Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.

  • Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.

  • The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
